I started this card yesterday for the Coffee Lovers Spring Blog Hop amidst anxious times as Cyclone Debbie slowly made her path to land with 250km/ph destructive winds and torrential rain.... fortunately for our city Townsville, the cyclone veered away and hit about 250km south. Being north of the spinning cyclone meant we had minimal rain and gusty winds today...sadly for many others there is a huge clean up to deal with. Searching through my stamp I thought this sentiment quite appropriate for the moment. I created the background with my fav technique at the moment - scrunched plastic wrap with spring colours in Brushos... sprinkled, sprayed and laid on the card. Then stamped my image, coloured and roughly around it. Stamped my sentiment and die cut with a flower shape and sponged the edge. I used my stitched die to cut the panel, attached it to a green layered and onto my card. To finish I randomly stamped flowers, punched a few more from leftover background and scattered them about. Happy Birthday
Another of my 'smooched' backgrounds done with Distress Inks and plastic wrap... I love the bright colours and saw an idea to use the negative of a die cut, so I used a new butterfly die and and carefully re-positioned the little bits and then added the cut out as well. While trimming the panel and was left with a thin strip so decided to use it to frame my sideways stamped sentiment. I am posting to Double 'D' challenge for March - Things that Fly. Also Happy Little Stampers Watercolour challenge for March with a twist - Smoosh. and to Happy Little Stampers Anything goes with Dies. Thanks for taking a peek

Wishing you Peace, Love and Joy..
Not having any bell stamps, I had to be innovative and have used the above dies to cut my bell and ringer shape. Then I coloured them with Distress Inks and a spritz of Perfect Pearls to give them a shine. Next I stamped up some holly foliage in different shades of green Distress Inks and stamped on a couple of long ribbon curls to hang my bells. To finish I stamped the sentiment, 3D mounted my bells and layered the top panel on green card. I am playing along with Merry Monday #204 challenge - Bells and March Rudolph Days challenge - Anything Goes. Thanks for taking a peek

Enjoy the Little Things
A nice stamping session with my friend today - a bit of play time before we batten down the hatches as Cyclone Debbie approaches (due Mon/Tues), not nice. Back to card making and here I have a card for the Shopping Our Stash - SOS#295 challenge - Forrest Friends. I created the background with Distress Inked scrunched plastic wrap and some sponging to thicken the grass. Then I stamped on the bear and blossom branch and coloured the images. Finally I stamped the sentiment and layered the top panel on pink card. Thanks for taking a peek

Merry Christrmas
I used the colours burgundy, lime and cream for this Christmas card - used my Misti to stamp the tree in three shades of green and then added some die cut mini, shiny gold stars. After I layered the card panels I wrapped some burgundy ribbon and a bow to bottom and decided to stamp my sentiment sideways for a change. I am combining four challenges.... Jingle Belles - Bling, add some sparkly and shine, Holly and Ivy Christmas challenge - Anything Goes, Happy Little Stampers Christmas March challenge with optional twist - a Star, 52 (Christmas) Card Throw Down colour challenge. Every flower is a soul.....
What a lovely week we've been having here with some well needed rain overnight, so it's cooler...and I'm at my desk having fun this week with backgrounds. This one I made with inked cling wrap - I applied 3 shades of Distress Ink in strips to create a landscape, spritzed with water and 'smooched' the wrap onto my white card - love how the 'sky' turned out with white space for clouds. Then I stamped on some 'flower' tops and leaves and used a negative mask so I could sponge Distress Ink the the blooms and leaves and drew in the stems. To finish I added a dragonfly and a stamped sentiment. I am posting to CAS Mix Up March challenge - I used stamping, smooching and sponging. Also to Rubber Dance Theme challenge - Everything Spring and Colour Throw Down ctd435 - colours; orange, yellow and blue. Thanks for taking a peek

Birthday Wishes
Some more mooching of Distress Ink to create a background with chipped sapphire and wilted violet, then when it was dry I added Brilliance Gold reinker with scrunched cling wrap. I used a Poppy Stamps die to cut the sentiment and again in shiny gold and then some fiddly inlaying of the little bits. I love it, and decided to mount the panel on a white card and finally stamped a mini sentiment to finish. I am posting to Poppy Stamps challenge PSC#29 - Go for Gold. Thanks for taking a peek
Love Life
mmmmm not much mojo happening for me today seeing as I have a birthday card to make for our daughter next week.... so I decided to have a play with my Brushos and was inspired by the elements of the Fusion challenge - Paris Rain. The striking colours of orange, yellow and green against the greys and black had me stepping out of my comfort zone but I'm quite happy with end result. I stamped on the Eiffel Tower and some grasses in greys and then added some black with silhouette trees. To finish I stamped the sentiment (that came with the Eiffel tower stamp) and then checked the interpretation and added an English version. I used the sketch also. Thanks for taking a peek

Peace Love Hope
I so love water colouring....very relaxing for me and here I am taking liberties with the Power Poppy Poinsettia stamp... turning it shades of yellow and green. Then I die cut a square in my top panel to one side and stamped the sentiment on the white space. To make my image fit I had to fussy cut around a part of it and fitted it above the panel with rest behind. To finish I layered onto two shades of green and added some white gel pen to the tips of the berries. I am posting to CAS Watercolour challenge for March - Spring and to Power and Spark at Power Poppy challenge... green theme. Thanks for taking a peek
'Twas the night before Christmas
A fun Christmas card from me this morning.... I am casing Cornelia's card for the Muse; Christmas Vision challenge this month. Her Christmas kitty peering over the wall inspired me to make my Santa on the roof going down the chimney. I used embossing folders to create a textured roof and chimney stack and top, and the chimney top. Then I used a solid stamp for my Santa... and rather than try and colour the stamp with markers I stamped him in antique linen Distress Ink and then used Brushos to colour him in. I fussy cut him and attached all my pieces to a snowflake embossed white back panel....which I mounted on navy blue card to represent the night sky. Finished off the card with a stamped sentiment. I am also posting to Holly and Ivy Christmas challenge where they are celebrating their very first challenge...Anything Goes, and to Addicted to Stamps and More #233 ... Holiday theme. May your day be filled with love and laughter
I've been having some fun this week making backgrounds with scrunched inked cling wrap... for this one I inked the colours in strips instead of random, and thought it would make a nice background for a 'scene' - you can see what I mean. Then I used Distress Ink to stamp the foreground grasses and added some spots of darker pink for 'field flowers' and more blue and green with scrunched plastic for my 'field'. I stamped on a small butterfly and my sentiment. Then to finished I coloured a die cut butterfly with Distress Ink and added some glitter glue. I am posting to Double "D" challenge - Things that Fly. and to Penny Black and More March challenge - Anything Goes..... I have used the grasses stamp from the Enjoy Life set. Thanks for taking a peek
For You tag
My post today I'm casing Marion's tag over at Tag, You're it! # 67. I noticed some texture in the background with slight colouring... so I used an embossing folder and added some Distress Ink as it went through the machine. I also liked the white sprigs framing the flower, so I used some die cut foliage. Then of course I love flowers and recently I used a friends punch to cut a few of these flowers. They have holes in the centers so after I mopped up some Distress Ink from some cling wrap I've been using I hand drew so details in black and backed the flower with black card and 3D mounted it to my tag. Then to finish I like the white on black sentiment on Marion's tag so found this NBUS stamp and added that with a few strands of cord at the top. Thanks for taking a peek
