Two cards featuring "Critters"

Time for a couple of cards for
Darnell's Twofer Card Challenge - #20 ... Critters... and I've chosen FROGS,
you see the beautiful green tree frogs now and again in our garden

For my first froggy card I stamped the image in grey and watercoloured it with Distress Oxides and then fussy cut it out..... I also stamped, coloured and fussy cut three large leaves.  Miraculously I found this cool Designer Paper in my stash with water droplets on a leaf - perfect,  then cut myself a rock from brown card, sponged on some brown ink for the frog to sit on.  I stamped the sentiment in black and clear embossed and the used yellow card for the die cut 'hello'.... attached all the elements on a green card.

For the second card I stamped the frog in brown ink and watercoloured it with Distress Oxides...then only fussy cut the bottom around his legs..  Found some cool green leafy DP and die cut a round opening so I could slip the legs through.  I stamped the sentiment in black and clear embossed and then the same for the 'get well soon' on matching green card.  I painted on a few green leaves to the background and assembled the card.

I am also playing along with Watercooler Wednesday WWC239 - Helen's Masculine "Anything Goes" challenge... I think this little Get Well card would so suit a bloke feeling down in the dumps.

That was fun.... I had no idea to start what critters I could use, but I'm real happy I found this long unused stamp in my stash.  Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it.... happy card making

  3. Oh, I swoon over little frogs and so wished I had them in our yard like you do, Robyn! These little fellas really are the stars of your cards and I love the surroundings you have given each one! Great pp on your first card and very clever aperture work on your second card! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #20! Hugs, Darnell

  4. What fun frog cards, Robyn! I have that little stamp, but haven't used it very often!! I must drag it out again! Love the way you've incorporated them with the leaves to make fun scenes! Thanks so much for joining us at Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week!

  5. Waht fabulous frogs, Robyn ... and such delicious colouring! What a great find the pp with the water droplets was, it adds such a lush touch! The sheery get well card is sure to raise a smile ... your sweet frog is spolighted in a wonderful tropical scene! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer! Anita :)

  6. Your frog is fantastic, Robyn, and I love both of your designs! How cool to have paper with water droplets just waiting to back up your frog, and I love the rock you made for him. I also love how you partially cut your frog to give him such interest while sitting in the spot light! Thanks for joining in the fun with us at the Twofer Card Challenge!

Thank you for taking the time to comment, all encouragement and inspiration is very welcome. May your day be a happy and extra special one, cheers Robyn
