Two cards featuring Hearts

Hi there and welcome to my blog today...it's hot!!  here and so humid... I need to go get the washing from the line which dries in a flash, but I'll leave to get extra dry!! while I write up my post for the January Twofer Card Challenge #23  - HEARTS.

It is also their 2nd Blogaversary - so congratulations Darnell and your fabulous team --- YEAHH!!!

So I chose to use a simple elongated heart stamp for my cards and created conventional and a non-conventional designs.

For my first card I simply inked the heart in Distress Oxide ink - Pickled Raspberry and stamped a border down one side on a white card panel..  Then I inked the top part of the sentiment stamp and stamped that in place. Next I inked the bottom part but left off the word 'heart' and stamped that leaving enough room to stamp my last pink hear in place of the word.  I used the DO to watercolour that heart and to finish added a small clear gem and mounted the panel to a pink card.

For my second card I stamped the heart in Ripe Persimmon Distress Ink in a flower shape, used the same ink to watercolour the petals.  I stamped a stem and leaf in Peeled Paint DI and  a  flower center and fussy cut it and watercolour that too and attached to the flower with foam tape.  I flicked some black paint over the image and cut black card to give a small  border before attaching to an orange card.  To finish I stamped the sentiment strip, edged that with green ink and attached with foam tape.

Thanks for stopping by my blog ---  Have a Happy Day

  3. Very cleverly thought out Twofer Robyn. Both cards are fabulous. Love the heart card the way you added the sentiment and your orange flower is so pretty. I see you are in for a hot day again today. Where is THAT rain?

  6. Fabulous, Robyn! I wondered how you got your heart insides so matchy-matchy colorwise, and after reading your post, I got the answer! These are just fabulous cards. Your Valentine is sweet and I love the stack of hearts you've got on the left side. The little bling inside the solo heart works perfectly to accent the painted one, too. And how clever to make a flower!! Looks like a gerbera daisy, or a sweet mum. The black panel really sets everything off, and the splatters look wonderful. Thank you so much for joining us at The Twofer Challenge! Bev

  7. Thank you for the anniversary congratulations, Robyn! I appreciate you! These two stunning CASlicious designs are perfect representations of Twofer with your distinctly different designs! I love the way you laid out the hearts and sediment in your first design to capture the eye and create a flow! And turning that stylized heart into flower petals was genius! Your coloring is bold and exciting and I love the splatters and matting. Thank you so much for playing in Twofer's 2nd Blogaversary challenge! Hugs, Darnell
