Be Merry - it's Christmas Time

A quick and easy Christmas card today ----   Stamped and gold embossed the holly swirl image and also the sentiment on red card, darkened the edge by blending dark red and grey ink and then added a thin border of gold paper and attached to a red card.

I am playing along with Rudolph Days Christmas challenge.

Dragonfly card

For this card I was inspired by the photo - stamped my image in grey ink and used Distress Oxide inks to watercolour it... then die cut with a stitched square die and layered it with two shades of purple card.  To finish I stamped and silver embossed a dragonfly on vellum and fussy cut it out and added glitter glue to the wings.

Happy Birthday

I do love this old wood mounted owl stamp and he hasn't been out of the drawer some time... so I've used him for a male card.  Stamped the image in grey ink and used pencils to colour him, smudging some purple into the background with blotting paper.  I die cut a rectangle from purple card as a winder and stamped and gold embossed the sentiment along the bottom before attaching to a white card.

Two cards featuring Sun/Moon

Too much time lately in the garden so I'm barely making it to post my cards for the
I'm using both images on my cards, using a very old All Night Media stamp - Sister Sun, Brother Moon.

Stamped and gold embossing the image repeatedly over white card panel and then blended Distress Oxide inks in blue shades over the top.  I used bleach to remove some of the ink on the middle image.  To finish I stamped and gold embossed the sentiment strip on pale blue card.

For my second card I stamped and white embossed the image once on kraft card panel and used a cotton tip to colour the image in Distress Oxides.  To finish I attached to a black card and stamped and white embossed two sentiments on a black card strip.

I Hope Everything's Rosy with You

I'm thinking my mum will enjoy this rosy card since things are turned a bit for the worse down where she lives with the pandemic in a second wave....  just letting her know I'm thinking of her always.
I decided to make another slim line card, and stamped the rose randomly around the edge of the panel, white embossed them and watercoloured with Distress Oxide inks.  Stamped the sentiment from the same set through the centre and silver embossed it.  Then made a slim card from white card stock and added a matching bright pink border.

Happy Birthday

We've been having absolutely gorgeous mornings here, perfectly for some gardening - weeding actually and even some re-potting, fresh are and sunshine always makes you  feel better.... then I did find some time to make a couple of cards this weekend too.

I stamped this orchid in grey ink, watercoloured it with Distress Oxide inks and then fussy cut it out - that's because I got ink spots on the rest of the panel, somehow!!   and then thought to be a bit different and searched through patterned paper pads and selected this matching green shades but with gold embossed pattern on it.  I chose some matching green card for the card base and die cut the sentiment in shiny gold metallic card.

Birthday Wishes

We have just returned from a wonderful few days R&R in our caravan in a fabulous nearby National Park -  it's was truly  magical, quiet, serene and sooooo relaxing....fortunately for us we are still able to travel around our state with basic pandemic restrictions.... very few others at the park.
Today I am posting a square card for a change...  the stamped floral image is from my stash and I used a light watercolour wash of Distress Inks as the base for added pencil colouring.  For some interest I stamped the sentiment and gold embossed it and a card section I die cut with a notched border and used orange card as a thin border frame onto a butter yellow card.
I am playing along with Watercooler Wednesday WWC283 -  Tristan's challenge - Anything Goes with a Feminine Twist   ....    AND    ....   Seize the Birthday #196 - Tic Tac Toe ---  one image, flowers and largish sentient.

Hello

3000 CARDS BLOG HOP

My card for the July Card Chain Challenge went off to Suze in New Zealand.  I combined the sketch, colours, theme and technique.

For this months challenge I decided to make a fun card...  ages ago I used a friends stamp to put a few of these mermaids into my stamped stash....I coloured her with pencils and fussy cut it out.  In my background stash I found this one with blues and purples.. I masked off an area to create a circle (re the sketch) and with a wavy stencil in place, sponged grey ink.  To finish the card I attached the mermaid with foam tape, added some glitter gel pen and sequins and a mini stamped and die cut sentiment.
