Christmas - Watercolour Die Cut Prints

The Design Team at CAS Mix Up Card Challenge are celebrating their 5th Birthday this month... a Big Congratulations from me, I so enjoy their challenges and wonderful DT inspiration.

This month the challenge is to use watercolours with  die cut printing, so for a change rather than my favourite flowers I've chosen a textured fir tree die to make Christmas cards... yes I've a Twofer - in the process I had made a not very CAS panel so cut it in half...

A die cut the tree ( two different sizes of the three in the set) in thick shiny card (recycled packaging) which gave me a stronger die cut to ink and wet.  Cut a mask to create the snow slope and smooched two shades of green DO and one dark blue on my plastic sheet and then lightly spritzed the die cuts, smooched them in the inks and "stamped" over the mask - the indents on the die cuts left some areas white so it looks like snow.  I die cut a single tree from watercolour card and used the left over smooch ink to watercolour it.  Watercoloured in the blue sky and shadows with a brush.  To finish I mounted the panel with foam sheet to a die cut layer and stamped and silver embossed the sentiment and attached the tree with foam dots.

For my second card... I repeated the process to create the scene, stamped and clear embossed the sentiment, added a die cut frame and attached the tree with foam dots.

Thanks for stopping by my blog  --  have a Wonderful Creative day
