Sketchbook Saturday Challenge #43

Well I've just spent a pleasant creative afternoon skyping with my friend Vikki; we're both back at out desks again for 2012 now on the last day of our holidays before it's back to work tomorrow. We've both been browsing the net for inspiration.....so ....

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2012, Gift card/letter holder Card

 

Very Best Wishes everyone for a healthy, prosperous, and creative New Year.  

Well I'm very over Christmas cards so went searching for another type of card and found this idea at http://www.theprojectgirl.com/2009/06/30/project-cuts/ and used the basic idea of the spellbinders to create a card that could hold a gift card - a challenge from this blog http://designed2delight.com/blog/2011/12/pretty-gift-card-holder-challenge/ but as I'm not into digital cards I'm not posting on their site. I also thought it would be a nice idea for the inside pocket to hold a letter that I might write as I do so love keeping in touch with family and friends and many of our older reles don't use the internet but so appreciate a newsy letter. The dark area is navy blue not black..as it appears in the pic.

Happy New Years Eve everyone.
It's nice to be back at my desk putting together a card....wasn't sure if my creative side was still on holiday. Hubby and I have just returned for a weeks break down the coast of Western Australia about 1000kms to Geraldton where we enjoyed a quiet Christmas on our own.
Anyway here's my card for this weeks MojoMonday - I wanted to make a soft coloured card for some reason maybe seeing my friend Vikki's cards she's made this week influenced me. ... thanks Mojo girls for the sketch and all the very best everyone, thanks for taking a peek.

Lily Pad Card Exchange, the Deconstructed Sketch #30

Well after quite a few weeks I'm back at my desk....not sure if the mojo was with me but as the Lily Pad Card Exchange was in it's last few hours I thought I'd give it a go....and also took the opportunity to use the sketch from Deconstructing Jens challenge. Not my colour range but you have to step out of your comfort zone sometimes... :-)  Thanks for taking a peek
