You & Me the Perfect Blend

Oh I do enjoy a cup of tea especially in a nice china cup and saucer..  so I'm happy to post my card today with the inspiration from Fusion Card challenge - Pretty in Pink.  I used both the sketch and photo for inspiration... including cups and an embossed back panel.  I stamped and embossed my image in gold and used Distress Inks to colour it and then fussy cut it out.  I found this pink background in my stash made with stencils and DI and light stamping in slightly darker pink...I stamped on my sentiment and attached the cups with 3D tape. I am also posting to Inkspirational challenge #129 with word prompt - Connect.... no nicer way to spend a few moments than with a friend over a cuppa.  Thanks for taking a peek

Merry Christmas

It's nearing the end of the month already so I'm posting my card to Rudolph Days challenge - Anything Goes.  I am also playing along with 52 (Christmas) cards challenge - technique - Starburst.  I made two cards, the first was the blue one inspired by a card on the net --- at  http://yourstrulybydiana.blogspot.com.au/2015/10/hope-you-can-cling-to-2015.html
I sponged three shades of blue DI to create the starburst effect and used die cut trees at the bottom where I also stamped and embossed my sentiment. Finished off the card with punched stars.
I decided that I should also try the technique using up some of my scrap Christmas papers... cut the papers and sponged the edges in red then mounted them onto a red card.  To finish I stamped a sentiment on a die cut circle and then added it to a slightly larger red circle and final added a fussy cut holly from my papers. Thanks for taking a peek

February Rudolph Days Challenge

Happy Birthday

Two challenges for this pretty pink card for my MIL whose  91st birthday is coming up soon..... at Power Poppy Power & Spark challenge - Say Yes to No lines!, so I stamped my image in DI Antique Linen and water coloured with Brushos .... I was also inspired by the lovely card by Jenni (below) at Muse challenge #204 - the beautiful pink rose colours and my interpretation of the framing of her image.  After colouring my image I die cut it and left the die in place and sponged grey around the edge. Then I mounted the top panel on two shades of pink card and dry embossed the top one.  Then I thought it all needed something extra so I added a ribbon and a few gems before finishing off with my silver embossed sentiment.  Thanks for taking a peek

Love from All of Us

Well I'm not sure where these colours came from to make a Christmas card...but I do like them....I wanted to be a bit non-traditional.  I stamped and coloured my stocking with Brushos, then used the stamp with Versamark to add detail to the green strip and layered these onto a burnt orange (Gamboge in Brushos) panel. To finish I added a stamped sentiment.  I roughly used the layout at Paper Play Sketches #35 and the theme - Stockings at Merry Monday Challenge #236.  And finally I'm posting to Season's Greetings challenge #1 - Anything Goes with a twist -Love. Thanks for taking a peek

Have a Beautiful Day

First time playing along with Double 'D' challenges - theme this fortnight is RicRac-ZigZag.
I have a stash of background panels made by sopping up inks on my plastic mixing palette, and thought to use this strip as it matched this little bird I had stamped and coloured early in the week. Then as it had pink on the bird an idea to slice my panel in two using my RicRacy/ZigZagy die and space them with a pink card showing through.  Then I stamped the sentiment in pink to match and inked the edge turquoise.  3D mounted my bird and sentiment.  I am also playing along at Make it Monday challenge #40 with the theme - Birds.   Thanks for taking a peek

Embrace Life

A very clean and simple card from me today... not my usual thing, but I'm quite happy with the finished card.  I stamped the flourish in Distress Ink and my sentiment in black so it will be the focaal point. To finish I layer the top  panel on matching green card and onto a black card and added a green gem. I playing along with The Paper Players #332 challenge - Use a Sentiment as your focal point.  Thanks for taking a peek

You're Sweet tag

I have a tag today for the Tag You're It challenge #65 - casing Lisa's tag (below).... I pretty much copied Lisa's layout, cute image, hearts and spotty ribbon.  I don't have too many 'cute' stamps and thought this bird just fit the bill.  I stamped the image on a scrap and coloured it with leftover Brushos on my paint palette and then fussy cut it. I cut a tag and stamped on a few lines of music script and then a sentiment on a scrap and turned it into a tag.  Tied these all together with ribbon and thread and finished off with a few mini hearts and some glitter glue.  Thanks for taking a peek.

Be the rainbow is someone else's cloud

I love my card today - it's so bright, colourful and cheery and I think the sentiment fits beautifully. The background panel was created by sopping up those leftover inks (both Distress Ink and Brushos) from my plastic mixing palette.... then I stamped mini feather stamps in Picket Fence DI and ruled a thin black line around the edge.  I stamped one of my favourite birds stamps (I love these crazy birds you can have so much fun with colours and face expressions - I gave this one little eye brows) on a scrap and coloured the image with Brushos.... then fussy cut it,  but as his feet and curls are too hard to cut I restamped the image on the back panel and positioned him on top.  Then I found these foliage die cuts in my stash - just the right colour to add and  finished off with my sentiment. I am posting to Penny Black & More February challenge - Use your favourite stamp, and to Simon Says Monday challenge - Use your favourite tool..... well it has to be my stamps and scissors - I do love stamping and like fussy cutting too.  Thanks for taking a peek

Happy Birthday

This afternoon I have a card for the Alphabet Challenge - 'X' - X Marks the Spot.  I have used some spotty DP for my background panel and added a length of spotty ribbon.  I used a stamped and Twinkling H2O painted floral image from my UFO stash and then carefully die cut a frame and then fussy cut around the image.  I stamped a sentiment on a frilly die cut label and positioned it under the flowers and to finish I added a die cut and embossed flower layered on a matching die cut flower.  Thanks for taking a peek

Love and Best Wishes

Lots of smiling faces here today because it is raining and the frogs are croaking and it's much cooler. Today I found in my UFO stash a watercolour flower ... awhile ago I tried my hand at some watercolour painting with Twinkling H2Os, so I decided to finish it off as a card.  I trimmed it down and layered it onto a maroon panel and then stamped on the sentiment and just added a couple of sequins to finish it.  I'm posting to CAS Watercolour Feb challenge - 'Love'.  Also to Addicted to Stamps and More - Clean and Simple challenge and finally to Simon Says Wednesday challenge  Fantastic Florals.  Thanks for taking a peek

Let It Snow

For this weeks Jingles Belles challenge - Let the Flakes Fall, I've created a snowy scene!!  I'm so chuffed with my watercolour background - I watched a video I saw on FB ... Mimi shares another video on her Facebook page... watch her stamp and paint this peaceful scene: https://www.facebook.com/Mimi-A-La-Carte-205472766133457/  ......
and then had a go myself - it was worth it.
Then I decided to add a wee Robin to my scene.... one of TH crazy birds fussy cut and coloured with Brushos and sitting on a die cut branch.  To finish all I needed with a stamped sentiment and a dark layer to frame it onto the card.  Thanks for taking a peek

Let the Flakes Fall Where They May

Happy 1st Birthday

I made this card for our grand daughters first birthday.... cutest bunny hugs stamp ever.  I stamped and coloured the image with pencils, then used die cut sentiments and a large glittery hand cut "1"  on pretty pink DP background. Used a couple of coloured card layers to frame the front panel onto a pink card.  I am posting to Simon Says Wednesday challenge - theme Cute' Thanks for taking a peek

Joy

Well it's way too hot to be outside 36C but I'm not complaining other areas in the state are well into the 40sC and then there is reported snow on the high peaks in Tasmania - stupid weather, anyway I'm happy to be at my desk in the cool.  This card is for this months Muse: Christmas Visions 77 - casing Chriss's card below and as I've included Holly in my design I'm posting to Happy Little Stampers February Christmas challenge with the optional twist of Holly.  The die cut metallic 'Joy' on Chriss card took my eye and the all over floral pattern for the background.  I have been delving in my DP "piles" and decided to use this gorgeous all over holly paper for my background. Then my set of alphabet dies are way to small to show up nicely on the paper - so I just hand cut them from metallic green card  (lucky there's only three letters) and then cut a few holly leaves and finished them off with some pearl "berries".  Thanks for taking a peek

With Love

When I saw Theresa's card at The Flower Challenge #5 - CASE the Guest Designer, I knew I would have to try out this technique - I love the white die cut flower fitted back into the white card and the pretty pink colours showing through.... so here is my take on her card.  I used a water coloured pink background card that was spritzed with Perfect Pearls mist so it is all shiny and decided to use the edge of the panel to frame my white die cut top.  I stamped 'with' on the top and finished with a die cut 'love' and couple of hearts.  I am also posting to The Card Concept #66 - Love and Romance challenge and to Stamplorations February CAS Card challenge - option Bright Pink.  Thanks for taking a peek
