Pet ATC

Of course a cat had to feature on my ATC for the Happy Little Stampers ATC December challenge - Pets.... because there are four in our household - that's a lot yes, but the story goes - hubby and I adopted two kittens from our sons litter of Boxing Day 2013 when we lived away - he had the parents and then we moved back home in 2015, we love them all, so they stay together - they're all different colours and personalities, only draw back is cat fluff!!
So I have this old stamp in my stash and perfect for a quick black and white theme with a dash of orange.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your Christmas and New Year

Happy Birthday

The sun is shining brightly and we got through the weekend with 150 ml of rain and everything is green and growing like mad.  Today I've a CAS card for the Happy Little Stampers CAS December challenge - Emboss. I dry embossed a white square panel and then die cut the center circle.  Decided on this lovely soft aqua for a card base and a bunch of die cut flowers to 'pop' out of the center.  To finish I added a stamped sentiment with foam tape.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your Christmas and New Year.

The Snowman by Raymond Briggs

Last week I played along with a new challenge blog (for me) - The Library Challenge and I thought what a unique way to be inspired, so I'm joining in again with challenge #22 - The Snowman by Raymond Briggs.   I didn't make a card just a little artwork inspired by the book cover -- I also included a little image of a winter home where maybe our boy, Billy in the story lives.
I love to mix up stamps and have done that here - masking off parts of stamps ... can you see the Tim Holtz bird stamp I used for my snowman, hand drew in the rest and used coloured pencil to add some slight colour.  Then stamped my house and trees from parts of other stamps.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your Christmas and New Year

Love and Best Wishes

Well the rain has settled in and as the map below shows (map now removed) the cyclone should down grade to a low and then continue to track in our direction ... more rain and the cats are moving inside.   And I've another card today for the Stamplorations CAS card December challenge with optional colour twist - Green.... this is definitely not a go to colour for me. I stamped the image with Versamark and heat embossed with white EP. Then masked of a margin on two sides of the panel and used Distress Inks to sponge in my green colour (it's a bit more lime greenish than the photo)  Then I used Distress Oxides to watercolour the flower. To finish I stamped on my sentiment in black and mounted the panel to a white card.  I am also adding my card to Stamplorations Never Ending Anything Goes challenge... I used Helenium  Large stamp.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your Christmas and New Year.

Enjoy the Little Things

We've had a couple days of sunshine, so got caught up with the washing BUT the rain is back and there's a cyclone some distance north of us that has been downgraded but we will feel it's presence with more rain and wind... never mind, I'm inside making cards.. couldn't be happier.
I used the colours at Just Add Ink #438 - pink, green and my colour choice - yellow and then the layout from Freshly Made Sketches #367.  Stamped and watercoloured my floral image with markers scribbled on the plastic sheet and picked up with a damp brush. Used a stitched die to cut round the image and layered this onto a green DP... I liked the wording on this piece so chose my sentiment to suit - stamped and die cut with a stitched circle and mounted with foam tape.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your Christmas and New Year.

Thanks

Nice to be making cards other than Christmas, so I have a pretty Thanks card today.  I stamped my image in Versamark and embossed with white EP. Next I loosely watercoloured the image by scribbling my markers on plastic sheet and diluting with water to get the right shade and depth of colour with a paint brush. Then I die cut my sentiment from scrap of smooched watercolour card, and die cut again using foam sheet to lift the Thanks up off the card.  To finish I added a purple border and a tiny butterfly and pearl  I am playing along with CAS Watercolour December challenge - Thank You, and CAS Mix Up December challenge - Emboss Resist. Also with Watercooler Wednesday WWC200 where they are celebrating their 200th challenge - with Helen's All About Occasions challenge.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day.

Thanks So Much

Ok so I didn't start out to make three cards, but I was trying out an old technique that I haven't done for years... Inking my shadow stamp with markers (then the new element is spritzing the stamp before stamping - and also the fact that I took the rubber stamp off the wood block and used the Misti to hold the position while I coloured and stamped the image a number of times) then I used a paint brush and lots of water to pick up some scribbled marker and watercoloured in the background ... With my first attempt the stamp came off the Misti and I was a bit off re-positioning it, but it wasn't too bad (first one below). The second one I was being too careful about colouring and not enough water misting (second below), so I had another go and was much happier with that (above).  To finish I cut the panel down to fit a white card and stamped my sentiment in black.  I am playing along with CAS Watercolour December challenge - Thank You, also The Flower Challenge #27 - Use and older stamp and finally with Power Poppy Creative Confetti challenge - Try a new Technique. Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day.

Gift baskets

Did have fun this morning creating some projects as gifts with my Scor-pal.
Here I have two baskets using a pattern from the Scor-pal blog.
The first made with Christmasy double sided paper and simply decorated with a tag and gold glittery star.....perfect to fill with Christmas cookies.
The second a plain green basket with glittery red wrapping tape around the top and on the handle. I used a die cut sentiment on the side and die cut medallion to decorate the joins
I am playing along with Scor-pal challenge #55 - Anything Goes for Christmas  and Power Poppy Creative Confetti - Season of Giving, also Simon Says Wednesday challenge - Wrap It Up.
Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day.

Scor-Pal More than One Score Challenge #55 December Anything Goes Christmas

Christmas gift box and tag

I was on a roll this morning with my Scor-pal and made a few projects for gifts.  For the Power Poppy Creative Confetti challenge - Season of Giving, I have made this gift box and tag.  Made a basic square box with a white base and Christmasy top and added some ribbon curls.  Then I die cut an oval tag, used the smaller size to draw around with a silver gel pen and stamped and embossed my sentiment with silver EP.  Lastly stamped my with dark blue ink on light blue card and clear embossed it, then fussy cut added some silver gel pen dots and a silver tie.
I am also playing along with Simon Says Wednesday challenge - Wrap it up.

Time to Celebrate

A male themed card for the challenges at Shopping Our Stash #383 - Happy Birthday Dude and at The Male Room they are celebrating Challenge #100 with the theme Celebrate.
From my embossing folders stash I found this clock background where I had inked the folder with Distress Ink, next I chose matching blue card and die cut my 'celebrate' across the bottom and trimmed these to fit my white card and fitted the negatives in place on the die cut.  Then I stamped and fussy cut my clock, used Dimensional Magic on the face and silver gel pen around the clock and to finish the card added a card strip with the rest of the sentiment.
I am also joining in with the challenge at The Library - inspired by the book by Jack Finney, From Time to Time...  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day.
