Two Heart Cards....

Today I am happy to share my two cards using the same stamp for the Twofer Card challenge #2 - Hearts

This was really fun and challenging and I've used a very old heart stamp that hasn't seen the light of day for aaggges.
For my first card I stamped the image onto pink (Distress Oxide) water wash card and fussy cut the center heart, then restamped onto white card and fussy cut this and watercoloured the edges and eyelets of the 'lace', then glued them together with a little padding under the hear.   Then I decorated the floral area with a matching rose, ribbons, leaves and tiny punched flowers with pearl centers.
To finish I mounted my matching DP panel to white card cut with a zigzag die and added my stamped sentiment, with inked edges and tiny flower.  I am posting this card also to CAS Colours and Sketches #258 - colour palette,  and also to CAS-ual Fridays challenge CFC#192 - Hearts, hearts and more hearts.
For my second card I stamped the heart image on white card and fussy cut the center heart, then sponged this with Wilted Violet DOX - masking the floral area.... this I painted with DOX and added Dimensional Magic to give this a shine and lift (adding the DM to DOX - changes the colours a little). Then I lightly stamped script to my background panel and layered it onto white card on my purple card base.  To finish I added a gauzy ribbon to my heart and a stamped and embossed sentiment.  I am also posting this card to Watercooler Wednesday challenge WWC15 - Anything Goes, Feminine.

Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day

  1. You rock, Robyn! I love that wooden heart stamp and how you used it on both cards, but changed it up. Very clever! Your Mother's Day card in purple is so feminine with the glossy florals and fluff of gauzy ribbon! And your pretty pink birthday card is gorgeous and dimensional with the pp and sweet bouquet of flowers! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #2!! Hugs, Darnell

  2. Wow, Robyn, your wonderful cards for the Twofer challenge are gorgeous. Love the one which you've entered into our challenge. The purples and pinks provide the perfect backdrop for the sweet little bouquet of bright flowers across the top of the ombre heart. Love that delicate ribbon! A truly stunning card! Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.

  3. Robyn I love how you've used this stamp to create two distinctly different cards for the Twofer challenge and shared one of them with us at the Watercooler. The purple Mother's Day heart is simply stunning in its intensity. Great use of the colour challenge too and beautifully applied.

  4. It always makes me happy when I see older stamps used amongst the constant new releases! You managed to give that heart two very different looks by featuring one with the lace and one without! Love the gauzy ribbon on the Mother's day card! Both cards are very pretty!
Thanks for joining in the Twofer!

  8. These are both beautiful. I love the way you changed the stamp, by adding dimensional flowers, and by subtracting the lace edge, to make your two cards different - a great way to increase the versatility of a stamp that might seem a bit limited!
