Be happy, Be bright, Be you

I had some messy fun yesterday with shaving cream and Brushos and made a few backgrounds... so used one piece for my card today.  I stamped my PB Blush floral three times in Distress Oxides and the stems separately, and added some white gel pen to the centers.... the shaving cream and DO inks reacted a bit and the photo doesn't show the softer colours.  Then to finish I stamped my sentiment and attached it with foam tape to a layered strip.  I am playing along with Penny Black Saturday challenge - Anything Goes using the Option of Spring Flowers too. And also playing at Simon Says Wednesday challenge - Anything Goes.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your weekend

Faith, Trust and Fairy Dust

Some playing around with flower stamps from different sets today combined with Distress Oxide ink... in Yellow, Pink and Green.  First I wet the water colour card with dilute salt solution and then added spots of pink DO... they spread in a flower shape (saw someone on YouTube doing this with acrylic paint - worked lots better, but I did get some effect). then while the card was still wet I stamped on various other flowers and some stems, I went over them with the same ink when the panel was dry and added black snowflake centers to the yellow ones and white gel pen the the pinks.   Earlier I had stamped my fairym, coloured and fussy cut her minus the wings and also stamped her wings on acetate and cut them out.. added Kindyglitz.  I positioned my fairy in her garden and stamped on my sentiments and some starry fairy dust.  I  am playing along with the colour palette at Rubber Dance April Colour challenge, Shopping Our Stash SOS#351- Mythical Magical theme, and also Southern Girls challenge - Triple 'F' Team Lou challenge; Fairies, Fantasy or Flowers.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your weekend

Congratulations

I have a quick and easy card today.... although it did take me some searching for my Chevrons... didnt think I had any from memory but there were quite a few.  I selected this bright green DP and cut a couple of chevron rows to attach to my white card.  Then I stamped the sentiment on a white card strip to attach over the center.  I am playing along with Happy Little Stampers CAS challenge for April - Chevrons and also at Stamplorations April Theme - Focus on Sentiments.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day.

Happy Mother's Day

This lovely ANZAC Day afternoon I have a shaped card for The Flower Challenge #19, and I am also posting to Happy Little Stampers - Anything Goes with Dies Challenge for April.  I folded my white card and the largest die from this set and cut the card through both layers.   Then I die cut the second largest die in green DP and then traced around the outside of the die on pink card and cut it out.  I stamped my floral image and used Distress Oxides to watercolour it and then roughly cut it out.  I stamped my sentiment on a different die cut and sponged the edge with pink ink.  Lastly put all the layers together and used foam tape on the image and sentiment.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day

Have a Beautiful Day!

How cute is this little bird on Kim's card this week for the Muse Card challenge #262.  I remembered I had a bird set with stamp and punch so 'dug' this out for my card.  Inked my bird with two shades of aqua blue, stamped and punched him out, then as there's a wing on the punch I repeated this and gave him a little wing.  Then found some leftover green 'Distress Ink experiment' card and punched some leaves too. I liked that Kim had different leaves on her card so decided to stamp some in the background before attaching my leaves.  To finish I stamped on my sentiment, attached my bird with foam tape and added a few sequins.  I cased all aspects of Kim's card - layout, colours, bird/leaves and sequins.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day

There's a rip and a tear in my Teddy Bear....

I'm quite fond of bears and have a little collection on my desk...also the odd bear stamp - this is one of my favourites.  I coloured my stamped image with  coloured pencils because I used the wrong cardstock for water colouring.... and then added some mini hearts, a trim of red card and die cut lace and lastly some red twine and a bow.  I am playing along with the Alphabet Challenge - "B" for Bears.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your weekend.

Two Cat Cards

The theme for Darnell's Twofer Card Challenge #4 for April is Pets.... so at our place there are four cats... here are three of them waiting outside on the kitchen window ledge to come in for dinner, so my cards include Cats.
I have this one cat die so I've used it two ways... on a Friends card and a Christmas card.
I made the black cat one using a Brushos background and simply stamped a sentiment and used layers to frame the panel... not planning to - but my white cat card ended up with a Brushos background too... searched through my stash of 'experiments' to match the die sentiment I decided to use and teamed it with a second die cut in metallic aqua blue which I inlaid, then to match the shine I painted on some Perfect Pearls to the white 'Merry'. To finish I die cut my cat in white felt and sponged some light aqua blue to the white base.

We make plenty of cards using the same stamps or dies but when you're challenged to make two at one time somehow the inspiration is challenging.

Have a Great Day!

This fortnight at The Male Room #83 the challenge is 'Symmetry'  - great inspiration for the DT, so I had a good rifle through my stamps and decided these hot air balloons would fit the theme. I stamped two and fussy cut them out, then water coloured them with Brushos.  I used a background panel recently made by brayering the leftover ink on the roller onto a water misted card.  Then I sponged on a landscape horizon and stamped on a tree line. The finish I framed the panel in green and attached to a red card, and added my stamped sentiment.  I am also playing along at Watercooler Wednesday WWC166 - Kath's Masculine "Anything Goes" challenge.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day.

Butterfly ATC

The ATC challenge for Happy Little Stampers this month is Butterfly - I am really happy with how this little work of art turned out. I used a printed image for my background, sponged on some colour, stamped my butterfly image off the edge, coloured it and added some Interference Gold for some shine - also did the same to a little wooden butterfly. Then I added some texture on the corners and used a blue card base to frame it.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day

Happy Birthday

My birthday card today is floral - of course, because flowers are just my favourite.... I stamped this image twice on the weekend, so it was just waiting there for me to match it up with the background panel I had made too. ... Inked up my embossing folder with coral Distress Oxide and this one is the second print from what was left after I'd run it through the Cuttlebug once...I used a brayer to transfer the ink.  Then I watercoloured my flowers with Distress Oxides.... in some of my favourite colours... coral, blue and green.... I don't really have favourites just so long as they are pretty, colourful and make me feel happy. Then I fussy cut my image, stamped my sentiment and framed it in matching blue card and arranged it all on coral card and a white card base.  I used foam tape to lift the flowers and sentiment.  I am playing along with Southern Girls challenge - Team Trace - Favourite Colour Combo and also with Addicted to Stamps and More challenge #287- Make your Mark.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day

Love a Rainy Day, it makes me Smile

This Rainy Day card came about because last week I was my brayer, embossing folders and Distress Oxide ink...the coral colours.... well I'm not one to waste the ink so I ended up with a few EF images and then there was still ink on the brayer so I misted card with water and quickly ran the brayer down and it left these great water drips...
Hence when I spotted the Inkspirational challenge 158 - with a Rain Photo, I had to give it a go again with blue ink.  I stamped, coloured and fussy cut my puppy image and the same with the umbrella.  Then I scrounged through my sentiment and letter stamps and came up with my sentiment... I decided to stamp it onto a separate raindrop sheet as I was confident enough to do it straight on the card panel... I cut out the sentiment and used a marker around the edge. I used foam tape to mount the sentiment and puppies.
