Thinking of You

A few months back I was having fun experimenting with stencils and creating embossed backgrounds  -- with this one Versamark was applied to the stencil and then used a brayer to transfer the ink to the white card panel, and white embossing powder heat embossed. Then Distress Oxide ink blended over the embossing, and it has been in my desk stash waiting, I really like the soft colours and so today I used it to create a Thinking of You card.

To finish this card I added a fine lilac border and attached to a white card, and added a die cut the sentiment in two shades of purple.

  5. Hi Robyn, it's me again. In response to your comment, Dudley is a Havanese. The breed is a descendent of the Bichon Frise from centuries ago. They were taken to Cuba by traders and eventually, though different breeding as well as the heat - they grew long silky coats and also come in various colours. The breed almost died out after the revolution and at one time there were only 11 of them, taken to the USA and then the breeding began again. Darnell has a Coton du Toleur which is also very similar. They arrived as Bichons, again from Spain, in Madagascar after a shipwreck and they swam ashore. Enterprising little creatures to swim ashore. Here endeth today's doggie history lesson :) Any little fluffy dog might well bw able to trace it's line back to the Bichon Frise - I think little Maltese terriers can. How lovely to have similar doggies to Dudley in your family - no doubt you can relate to a lot of what i write about Dudley!xx
