Two quick and easy Christmas cards

A friend recently gifted me this long Christmas word die (Uniquely Creative), so I had to try it out right away.... I found the white die cut worked well with patterned papers with just one colour and not too busy design.

Anything Goes week

Week 4 of the month and it's A = Anything Goes from Darnell's IDEAS prompt..... so this afternoon I finished off a couple of cards...  the first was in my UFO stash... in pieces - some leftover patterned paper and some Distress Ink watercoloured daisies (Sizzix -Wildflower stems)

And my second is my stamped attempt at the Group of Seven Cardmakers - Cover Die Eclipse technique.... I totally cased Loll's lovely coral coloured floral card using Distress Oxide inks and water lift process.

Hope you're enjoying Life -- finding some time to craft

Embossing Folder cards

A wee bit late this week with my IDEAS post... I totally forgot as I've been spending mornings in the garden; tidying and repotting... see pics below.

But I did have a play with EF or rather I found this one in my stash and just needed to add a watercoloured die cut daisy (Sizzix - Wildflower stems #1... this seems to be a real favorite with me), a matching border layer and sentiment.   It's the third week of April so "Embossing" is the theme, thank you Darnell for helping keep me focused.

A sort of threefer...  I made the middle card last week and then there were the leftover pieces of patterned paper.. so I decided made a couple of quick cards with them.  The one on the left is simply attached to a pink card with a border trim and sentiment.

For the third card I fussy cut the edge of the PP and attached this to an embossed corner of green card with a sentiment to finish

Thank you so much for popping by my blog...
have a wonderful weekend
Cheers Robyn

I revamped my Bromeliad garden.

..... and rearranged the back fence garden to plant up my red lily bulbs.... lots more bulbs were repotted too.

Three Die Cut Cards

I've given the garden a miss this morning and so I could finish off a few cards for the second week of the month prompt "D" for Dies/Die Cuts...  from Darnell's inspiring IDEAS.

The first card is using a long die I got from a magazine found stash diving in my piles and having die cut it from green card and trimmed to suit..  and then I didn't like it... but coincidentally in my desk piles there was this pattern paper I'd used and it matched beautifully...  I then watercoloured the inner parts of the flowers with Distress Inks and finished with a triple layer die cut "Hello" - also in the die cut stash.

My second card pieces were also in that desk pile.. the large floral cover plate die - Sizzix - Bouquet, I found was tricky to use - but worked well over a pink marbly pattern paper I had.  Finished off with a painted dragonfly (already fussy cut in the stash) and a stamped gold embossed sentiment, on the same background paper.

The last card I left quite simple... the die is also from a magazine (Die Cutting Essentials) - Scenic Swallow which I trimmed to the omit the border and swallow... then used the little hearts from the flowers.  The marbly green pattern paper for the background is from calendar pages (also the pink above)

This is my April crocheted calendar page.... so you can see the lovely thick paper I'm using on my cards....I bought a few of these when they were marked down to $2.

Birthday Cards

Hello and thanks for stopping by my blog...  it's April already!!

Week one IDEAS....  I = Inks/Colour Mediums...

I'm sharing two birthday cards today using Distress Inks to watercolour the images.  For the first card I chose a patterned paper background and coloured the die cut flowers (Sizzix - Wildflower Stems #1) to match.

For my second card I stamped the sunflower (Hero Arts) and leaves twice, coloured them and fussy cut them out.  I scored vertical lines on white card panel and layered it with green onto a yellow card - then finished the arrangement with a stamped gold embossed sentiment

I'm joining in the Seize the Birthday Challenge #280 - Spring Floral, with my sunflower card

I'm back with another card using the Group of Seven Cardmakers April technique - Cover Die Eclipse

Using some very detailed patterned paper and using a corner die from Sizzix Mixed Media set this time and added a pink card die cut layer to help show off the pattern...  maybe it's a bit too detailed but it looks ok in real life.  Finished off with a black die cut sentiment layered on white.

Have a wonderful day, cheers Robyn

Card Chain Challenge March Reveal

Time for the CARD CHAIN CHALLENGE March Reveal... this month my card went to Hilary in UK.
I've incorporated circles from the sketch, black, white and mint green for the colours and friendship theme

I've been using my patterned papers lately and this one fit the palette.... I fussy cut a couple of the flowers and attached to mint green and white layered circles and added a stamped sentiment to finish.

THEME : Friendship
