celebrate just living

Happy, happy, happy here in Australia...the Aussie cricket team have just won 'the Ashes' back from the Poms in a 5 match  whitewash...yeah!!
So quietly I've been making a card in the background using the layout from Freshly Made Sketches #117 and the colour theme from Less is More #153 - Winter Blues.  Just used a few scraps from my blue card drawer and diagonally scored the background on my Scorepal.  Cheers and thanks for taking a peek

SOS #132: Use The Last of Something

Hello blog visitors/card markers....it's been a while since I made a card for Mojo Monday so it's nice to be back .   playing along with #326.  I made this background paper with some left over distress ink I had on my pad and the card evolved around those colours, my card's not actually square but I hate cutting of the background paper. I used to make these little wire dragon flies ages ago and found this last one in my old trinket box - so I'm adding my card to the challenge at Shopping Our Stash #132   Cheers and thanks for taking a peek  Robyn

A favourite 2013 card

Just Add Ink..."2013" A Year in Review!

Hi there this fine Sunday morning.....glad to be back at my desk, spending me time doing what I love. I noticed Just Add Ink had a challenge to just post a favourite card from the past year and this turned out to be a great time to reflect over the many different cards I've made, some with special people in mind others just because I'm addicted. There were too many favourites but I've decided on this one and it probably reflects my style and me as a person. I love the colours, the layers, the lace and little touch of bling  and of course I love flowers.  Hope you're enjoying your weekend, thanks for taking a peek Robyn

sending SMILES

PPA186 Jan 2Recently I bought this new die or rather a stitching stencil by Ann's Paper Art and it works a treat in my cuttlebug. I'm playing along with the colour scheme at Pals Paper Arts PPA186 and I'm liking  these colours for a change, the flower is from Chocolate Baroque and I've touched it up with some ink and gold inference powder.  Thanks for taking a peek and hope you've having a creative good time this weekend.

Memories

sketch237
So my second card from my desk today ...from very hot Yeppoon - 34C, is one titled Memories (just to get away from the Christmas cards) I've made it for my in-laws to send down as a thank you with some great grandparent photos (Sophie is their first grandchild). I've used the layout from Unscripted sketches #237 and Cas-ual Fridays CFC125 - In a Word.  Cheers and thanks for taking a peek

Cute Owls Merry Christmas

Hi fellow card makers...and Happy New Year. Can't believe the first card I've made for 2014 is a Christmas card - thought I was over them for a bit after making 70 cards, but my stamping friend Vikki (who's skyping with me this afternoon) has been all inspiring and  hence my card for Merry Monday #88 - they are wanting some sort of animal - fortunately for me a paper pack from a magazine freebie had these cute owls and this is my very first paper tole card using bits supplied - I did actually stamp the sentiment and background so don't feel like I cheated.

What's On Your Workdesk, Wednesday #239

HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all,
and may 2014 bring forth your creative talents and for me I'm hoping to step out of my comfort zone and try some new ideas.

As you can see not much going on at my desk today, I've been away for a month on holiday and left the room all neat and tidy  .... just ready for me to mess up again.
Hubby and I headed south 1st of Dec and took the car on the ferry to Tasmania where we enjoyed a fabulous tour of a really beautiful part of this world. Then we headed back to Victoria and spent Christmas with Stephens parents and my mum and extended family - lovely to catch up with them all. There were three new members of our family including our gorgeous 2 month old grand daughter (see pic below)
We've been relaxing today, recovering from our 3 day trip back home and I've just made myself a G&T and while tea cooks thought I'd add my first post for the year...if you're wondering what this post is all about please check Julias blog for WOYWW#239  where you'll discover a group of other crafty people sharing their lives and desks.
Wishing you every happiness for the new year and thank for taking a peek....

What's On Your Workbench, Wednesday

WOYWW #235 (click here to go to Julias blog to find out and join in with sharing our desks on Wednesdays)  ..... again I'm not at home at my desk but would like to share a few pics.  We've been travelling again this week and spent 3 days with my sister and hubby in on their rural property at Gympie...where I took the pics of their cat Kingy and the lorikeets that Helen feeds in the morning.  The sunrise is from our balcony at Yeppoon the morning we left. And following are a few special Christmas cards I've made for family and friends. Happily I'm all organised and my cards are all sent....yippeee. Hope you're getting into the festive groove and gearing up to share a special Christmas. Cheers and thanks for taking a peek
