Merry Christmas

Today I'm taking care of our little grand daughter who is unwell, so while she's napping I thought I'd get this card finished and posted.  I'm playing along with three challenges.... Season's Greetings #3; I've used both dry embossing and heat embossing on my white card. ABC Christmas Challenge for March - I am using "E" for Edge... my embossing is around the edge of my card creating a frame.  And also to Sparkles Christmas challenge #74 - I stamped my sentiment and embossing is gorgeous gold.  To finish my card  I added a bit of colour with a die cut poinsettia with some green foliage.  Thanks for taking a peek

Be Amazing

Morning card makers..... have had this little guy all in pieces on my desk for a few days now and this morning thought I'd best get my card finished so I could post it to the Try Stamping on Tuesdays #311 challenge.... using the sketch below. I think this stamp is fabulous, it's a very old wood mounted rubber stamp from Santa Rosa and I decided to stamp him in brown ink and then coloured him with pencils and finished off with a water wash green background.  This I mounted the image panel on kraft and added a matching green strip which I dry embossed - all onto a black card.  To finish I just stamped my sentiment and 3D mounted it.  I am also posting to a new challenge (for me) Stamping Sensations March challenge - Close to Nature..... I think my little owl fits just nicely with this theme. Thanks for taking a peek

With Best Wishes

My second card on this lovely rainy afternoon is a floral...  I had a fun time colouring in my stamped image using Brushos and to get a softer colour, I mixed in White powder. Then I simple fussy cut the outline and layered onto a blue panel with 3D tape and onto my pale blue card....then finished off with a stamped sentiment.  This month at The Flower Challenge #6 the theme is Anything Goes, and at Stamplorations I am using the theme - Stamps and Spring.  Double 'D' challenge have a 'Spring' theme and I'm casing Anita's card at Muse challenge #206... being inspired by her pink daisies.  I am also enjoying participating in Kathy's 30 Day Colouring Challenge.  Thanks for taking a peek

Let your Dreams take flight

Well we've had a wonderful day here in Townsville....it's been raining, yeah!!   ... so I've enjoyed an afternoon at my desk.  My first card is very clean and simple, one layer card .... I created the blue hues background - by inking my clean plastic block with marker pens and then lightly spritzing with Perfect Pearls... you can't notice in the photo but there is a lovely shimmer. Then I simply stamped on my birds - that was a bit more work than ink and stamp... I used the stamp opposite and masked off areas with tape and then inked them. I used a white gel pen to colour the birds and finished my card with a stamped sentiment.  I am posting to Addicted to Stamps and More #232 - Make Your Mark - used markers, Less Is More #318 - Mainly Teal and also to Stamplorations CAS card challenge - Anything Goes with optional colour - sky blue.  Thanks for taking  a peek

Season's Greetings

Kathy is hosting her 7th - 30 Day Colouring Challenge over March and I'm eager to  join in as colouring is a main part of my stamped cards which I  so enjoy doing. Today I finished my Christmas card using the Colour Combo at Season's Greetings challenge #2 so I  took a quick photo of my desk ... showing my two card fronts (this year I've been stamping two images as I go and colouring the second when to mood takes me).  I stamped my poinsettia on watercolor paper and ooooh I wasn't too happy as it was very porous and bled everywhere.... but I just persisted figuring I couldn't make it any worse and after the image was finished I decided to 'conceal' the bleeding and added a light pink water colourwash to the background... I'm actually quite happy with it now.  Then I flicked a few spots of pink and stamped on my sentiment....I used Brushos and decided on a pink flower and red berries to use the colour combo option.  To finish I layered the top panel on darker pink and pale pink card.  I am also posting to Jingle Belles challenge - The Holly and the Ivy.... a Christmas foliage card... fits beautifully with my 'pink' Poinsettias.. I love these flowers/leaves.  Thanks for taking a peek

Best Wishes

My card for the February Card Chain challenge went all the way to ValeryAnne in England.  I tried to stick to both the colour palette and the layout sketch for my card. I have just started using my stash of Designer Papers again... there's so much of it and also those little paper flowers - I have jars of them too. I layered a few different colours and added micro beads to the centers. I added some thin ribbon under the flowers and mounted them onto two layers of card.  Finished off my square card with a stamped sentiment.  I enjoy making cards so it's nice to share them around the globe, if you'd like to sign up for the March swap pop over here!!  Thanks for taking a peek

Sending Smiles

Today I am casing Maureen's lovely floral tag over at Tag You're It!! #66.  I used my new stitched tag die for my tag and stamped and coloured my flowers with Brushos....I added white gel pen to the centers. Before I 3D mounted my fussy cut images I positioned them on the tag and drew a pencil line around so I could stamp on a few mini black flowers and my sentiment.  Added a strip of green die cut card to the bottom and finished off my tag with a green ribbon tied on with black thread.  I am also posting to Simon Says Wednesday challenge...Tag You're It. Thanks for taking a peek

Merry Christmas

Well I must say it does get a bit confusing with challenge closing dates because it's the first of March here in Australia - but lucky for me there is still time to post my card to Jingle Belles February challenge - It came upon the Midnight CLEAR - to include something 'Clear' on your card. This card has been partially made,  sitting on my desk waiting for me to decided on how to add a sentiment. This is the second of my 2'fers stamped stocking image and I coloured it with pencils. Then when deciding what to do with it, I figured it was about time to make a shaker card... I use the clear wrapping from stamp sets as my window pane, added some sparkly sequins and and finished the shaker part with lengths of ribbon and a brad decorated with three shiny gems.  I mounted this all on DP and finished the card with a die cut 'Merry' and a stamped 'Christmas'.  I am also posting to Merry Monday #237 - Shimmer & Sparkle.  Thanks for taking a peek
