Butterflies and Blooms

A couple more cards to share today...  after rain this week, it's a beautiful sunny much cooler day today  ----

LIFE IS GOOD, Enjoy Your Day

My first card of course bears flowers and is for the Just Add Ink challenge 648 - I've chosen Water and Garden.  Stamped the carnations (STAMPlorations - Blossom Spray #5) with grey Versafine ink and watercoloured with Distress Inks.  Trimmed to a square and bordered with matching green card then finished with stamped sentiment (Happy Little Stampers - Fun Birthday Sentiments)

For my second card I used a background from my stash - it's smooched ink and is very sparkly.  Added some die cut Butterflies and Foliage and punched dots from silver glitter card that I also used to frame the panel ... Finished with a stamped silver embossed sentiment (Happy Little Stampers - Fun Birthday Sentiments).  I am joining in the challenges at

Three Floral Birthday Cards

I really enjoy making cards but sometimes find I'm doing the stamping and colouring and then the panels sit on my desk.....  for ages.  So today I've finished off three cards --

For my first card I am using the sketch suggestion for the challenge at Just Add Ink #647.

Using my stamping platform to hold the lovely Penny Black stamp  - Spontaneous Joy... in place made it easy to create a card with repeated inkings in different coloured Distress Inks ... a light spray of water helps blend the wet ink on the stamps. I stamped an extra flower and fussy cut it out and attached to added some more dimension.  Finished the card with a stamped white embossed sentiment.

.

I enjoyed making my first card, so I made a second using red Distress Inks and the same process of inking and finished it with a stamped and silver embossed sentiment (Kaisercraft - Birthday Wishes).  I am joining the challenge at Stamping Sensations April Challenge - Anything Stamped.

I used this lovely sunflower stencil from The Crafters Workshop - Mini Joyful Sunflower and blended colours of Distress Inks then placed the die cut panel onto green card in an opening cut into a square kraft card.  Finished with a stamped gold embossed sentiment (Close to my Heart - Joyful Birthday Occasions) and a die cut bee.

March CCC cards reveal

My CCC Card for March went off to Hilary in the UK...

I used the colour palette and bird/friendship theme and stamping technique.

  • The bird was stamped, watercoloured and fussy cut (Kairsercraft - Fly Free set)
  • For the background I used a stencil (Funky Fossil Designs - Shrubbery) and blended Distress Inks in oranges and greens.
  • To finish I stamped the sentiment (2 sets - Happy Little Stampers Whimsical Friends - hello and friend from STAMPlorations - Bloom Sketches set)
  • Sat the bird on a die cut branch and added a border of orange card.

Thanks for stopping by my blog...  have a Wonderful Day,    cheers Robyn
