What's On Your Workdesk, Wednesday??

WEEK 327 - WOYWW

Hi and welcome to my desk or rather minute table in my craftavan this fine Wednesday.

Today I am attempting to find some mojo to finish this floral card - I watercoloured it with distress inks a couple of days ago...you can see the blobs of ink on the right - they never quite dry so I leave them on the plastic sheet and then lightly mist them when I'm ready to colour again...sometimes there's lot of blobs and I wet them lots and make backgrounds. I have some shades of blue card out trying to match it for some layered backgrounds and then at the back I've got out my new Darkroom Door Happy Birthday sentiment set to use on the card. It's quite dark in the van so I definitely need my Ott-Lite.  Thanks for taking an interest today, I'm posting and then off to visit some other desks via Julia's Stampin' Ground blog - check it out too and join in if you're new and wondering what I'm on about. Babies are....

Today I was so itching to make a card and all August there were thoughts to again join in with the CASEplorations over at Stamplorations and now I've not much time to enter my post.  I have also chosen to make a BABY card for Shery who has recently had a little girl - Congratulations to the Russ family.  I created the background with mists and stencils and then stamped the sentiment three times (CASEing Karens card below). Celebrate the Season

I haven't been at my desk most of the week but just found an hour this morning to play along at 52 (Christmas) Card Throwdown - where the challenge is to Pick a Previous Sketch - I chose Sketch #40 June 2015.  With not much time left to post my card I chose elements I already had at hand - needed to trim a tag shape, find a matching background and sentiment - I have been wanting to use this lovely die cut bauble for a while - I collected the cutouts and coloured them and then set them pack in place.  I am also going to post to Christmas Card Challenges - Anything Goes.

Friday Smiles

It's week 135 at Friday Smiles

OH HAPPY DAY, OH HAPPY DAY - It's Friday again!!! where did that week go??  Can't believe we've been home for a week - but  I have been a busy lady.

Got the house in order - having had to fit two household pantry's into one (small one) and re-sort the fridge, and in doing so have rearranged the kitchen cupboards, the back deck and sorted my stamping gear from the car into my craftavan (as someone on WOYWW commented - I like it) - see last pic.  Then Thursday the removalists arrived with all our gear which no fills the downstairs area of our house.  So it's been one busy week and yes everything is falling into place.

 On Wednesday I caught up with miss Sophie and mum and we went to the aquarium - she love turtles and how big is this one??  And below she popped up in the 'Nemo' tank  - it was a wonderful hour or so.

 My garden is in a bad was but I do have this spider orchid flowering in the mango tree....

 and these are the bulbs I replanted a few trips back along the back fence - I have quite a few buds where I did think I might have interrupted their season and would have to wait till next year to see them

What's On Your Workdesk, Wednesday?

 Week 326 at Stampin Ground for Julia's WOYWW.

There is nothing going on at my desk this Wednesday - but you can see that I have unpacked all my gear from the car and set it up in the caravan...this will be my temporary craft space till the renovations on the house are done.

My inks are on the top of the cupboards along with boxes of the incidentals one uses. And then along the sink area is my cuttlebug and box of dies, heat gun, guillotine, and boxes of clear stamps. The table is just big enough for me to work with my pad and Ott-lite - so I'm set ready to go. There is a blue card there I did make early on Tuesday ....

but today I have had a wonderful time with our daughter and grand daughter at the North Queensland Aquarium - ReefHQ, the world's largest living coral reef aquarium

Society of Stampaholics - Card Chain Challenge for August....well I usually try to at least use the colours and sketch for my card but this month things have been a bit hectic with us packing up house and moving...and the mojo was definitely away - so I ran with this simple layered card with die cut letters in contrasting white and finishing off with a wooden butterfly and a few gems - it arrived safely with Nathalie in Canada. Thanks for taking a peek

Merry Christmas

I got to play at my new temporary desk in the caravan this morning and had a go at a One Layer Christmas Card August Anything Goes challenge, with the option of a sleigh. This is the only sleigh stamp I have so decided to try and create a night scene. I masked the edges of the card and stamped this effective dotty border and embossed them in white, then the trees in black. Then I carefully inked the sleigh and deer in black and the moon in gold and embossed them. The gold wasn't 'luminious' enough so I went over it with yellow ink and clear EP and reheated it. And finally stamped and white embossed the sentiment....but it looked weird so I got out the white gel pen and drew in a border and a few stars.  Thanks for taking a peek
