Two Floral Cards

 Hi and how was your weekend??   

Mine was the usual, working some in the garden, some crochet and finished off a few more cards.

Two Floral cards for The Flower Challenge.. 

and wishing the team ALL the Very Best on their 6th Birthday

For this card I used a new gifted stamp - it's origin is unknown, stamped with smokey grey Versafine and watercoloured with Distress Inks with a little bit of coloured pencil for depth.

Die cut the frame with double stitched square die from Poppy Crafts, and stamped and silver embossed the sentiment from Kaisercraft.

My second card is also using a gifted stamp - PSX, Canna Lily, stamped with smokey grey Versafine and water coloured with Distress Inks.  Trimmed the panel and added a light green border layer. Stamped the sentiment with black Versafine ink on match green cards strip.. Happy Little Stampers: Especially for You set and attached with foam tape

Birthday Wishes

 

Finally let my garden and crochet rest for a day and finished off a few cards in my WIP pile

This one I made for 

Can You Handle the Pressure challenge - Anything Goes

Using a 3D embossing folder from Sizzix - Doily 

Blended Distress Ink - Blueprint Sketch over the raised areas

(the true colour is actually between these two photos)

Finished off with a die cut leaf (unknown) coloured with the same ink, and also one cut from vellum,

and a sentiment made with a small stamp and a die cut, mounted on a white card strip

Christmas cards....

Like many others, I have a stash of lovely 12x12 Designer pattern papers... saving them for something special.... well that special time is highly unlikely, so I've decided they must get used.

Today I have cut up this lovely Poinsettia sheet and made four Christmas cards

for the Christmas Kickstart challenge #67

• I trimmed off sections of the large sheet and added some stamped and embossed sentiments and a die cut one that I sparkled up with Twinkling H2Os, then to finish they all got spotted with glitter glue

Friends make the good times better

Second card post from me today.. it's been a busy week with the two grand daughters here for 3 days and they just love to have Nanny let them play with her crafty stuff....  Sophie made bugs with the egg cartons and Mia a floral wind chime.

• Stamped and gold embossed the image -  from Stamp It - Leaf Cluster
• Watercoloured with Distress Inks
• Stamped and gold embossed part of the sentiment - Kaisercraft: Morning Dew set, on the bottom of a white card
• Stamped and gold embossed the rest of sentiment on scrap and fussy cut it
• Assembled the card and used foam tape on the 'Friends'

Merry Christmas

End of the month again and we're adding to our Christmas Stash playing along with 

Maureen and Rudolph Day challenge 

Today I am also adding my chard to the 

Peace On Earth Christmas challenge #24, 

with inspiration from their mood board - red, white and green, foliage

• I used the Winter Wonderland Embossing Folder from Sara Davies Signature Collection and Crafters Companion on white card for the background
• Die cut holly and berries sprigs from green Distress Ink smooched card using die from Festive Wishes set from Practical Publishing mag.
• I added red embossing pen and clear embossed the berries
• Die cut the sentiment from red card... Poppy Crafts set
• Assembled the card

 Two cards today as we again head towards the end of the month..

CAS Mix Up September challenge - Use Gesso with a Stencil

The Flower Challenge #72 - Add Sparkle

First card for the CAS Mix Up challenge ....

• The stencil is from the cheap craft shop and I used white gesso
• Then spritzed the card with pink spray made with drawing ink and water and when that was dry I mixed some gold Magical Micas with water and flicked on some extra sparkle
• Die cut the sentiment (Sizzix - Celebration Words, Script) from gold and pinkish purple card and glued these offset to give a shadow
• Stamped and gold embossed butterfly (Happy Little Stampers - Especially for You set) and watercoloured with Distress Inks, then attached with foam tape.

Second card for The Flower Challenge.....

• Inked part of the Penny Black Garden Gems stamp with Distress Inks, lightly spritzed with water and stamped onto white card
• Stamped and gold embossed sentiment (Kaisercraft - Birthday Wishes set) 
• Used a rounded corner punch to curve the card panel
• Attached to pink card to create a frame 
• To finish I added some white iridescent sequins for the sparkle... love how they catch the pink from the card

 How's life at your place.... hope you're finding more time than me to make cards... I have finally finished a couple, the first is for the 

CAS Christmas challenge for September - Sparkle and/or Shine

Shiny Silver and Gold embossing and lots of sparkle on the bauble..

• Stamped and silver embossed the image from IndigoBlu magazine  and then also the sentiment from the set using gold embossing
• Watercoloured the stars and bauble with Distress Inks and painted the stars and snowflakes with a silvery Perfect Pearls Mist.  I added glitter glue to the bauble
• Finished the card with a red border

Happy also to say at last I have finished my hexagon blanket... 2022 Vibrant Vintage CAL using yarn from my stash.

And there's been lots of time in the garden as Spring has arrived and so has the beautiful weather, lovely mornings to get out and tidy up the garden and with mango season there are lots of dead flowers and stalks that blanket the lawns.

And we've had a busy household with 3 lots of visitors including my mum (she's 91 and we haven't seen each other for 4 years)... We had a wonderful time and I had her crocheting too
