Four Cards for the IDEAS prompt - Anything Goes

Hello from unusually cold sunny Queensland Australia... yes we've been having temps overnight in the low teens (C) and windy days that keep the sunshine cool ....  and along with this the household has been unwell with the flu ... so not much activity is happening..  and today I sat myself down at the desk and rummaged around in the stashes and have finally finished a few cards.  So I am joining Darnell again with her IDEAS prompt - week 4, Anything Goes

My first I'm adding to a new challenge - Love those Pretty Papers challenge  ---  so this soft grey patterned panel was just right to enhance my die cut floral that I watercoloured with Distress Oxide inks.  Finished the card with a stamped silver embossed sentiment and added a purple piece at the back which brings out the flower colours.

I am also joining the challenge at

Next I have a couple of cards featuring embossing for the
On this first one I used the Scorpal to emboss lines in the background and then added a watercoloured floral from my stash and a stamped silver embossed sentiment.

My second embossed card has a panel of embossing (from Couture Creations: Wild Holly) and edged with a die cut lacy strip.  Again from my stash a gold embossed floral (STAMPlorations : Darling dogwood roses), watercoloured with Distress Inks and fussy cut.  Finished by attaching to a matching apricot coloured card.

And lastly a card using a leftover strip from my Distress Oxide smooching recently attached to a panel of blended DO inks and finished off with a black silhouette diecut floral and sentiment.

Using Embossing Folders

Been playing with my embossing folders and Distress Inks this week...

for Darnells IDEAS prompt

For some reason I thought to embossing patterned paper and then use my inks to highlight the raised embossing... REALLY HAPPY with my result.  Layered the panel on red and green to help lift the colours and then finished with a sentiment tag from the same set of papers I used for the embossing/

My second card came about by using a smooched panel from my stash, embossing it with a little bird themed folder and the used the nearby colours to highlight the birds... to finish I add this already to use fun bird from my stash and a sentiment I think you could use for a number of occasions.

I am going to join in the Triple B challenge for July

A Trio of Cards featuring Die Cuts

Already the second week of the month and time for some Cards made using Dies...

for Darnell's IDEAS prompt....

I'm so glad she started this feature on her blog because it certainly has inspired me to make cards this year as well as crocheting.

Card One and I've used a very neglected Spellbinders die to create a frame... then used some vellum for my white embossed sentiment to place behind the opening and lastly matched some patterned paper to my sprig of flowers - watercoloured with distress inks.

Next for this card I had this bright Distress Oxide smooched panel on my desk and remembered this full Paper Rose die I had - so die cut it in blank card - easy peasy!!

My third card uses a Sizzix die Mixed Media set #2..  and it really looks nothing to just diecut it - so I teamed it with a background piece I had in my stash for ages and then die cut a heap of tiny flowers and added them to create a floral branch... finished with a stamped sentiment and layered onto yellow card.

Floral watercoloured cards

Of course they are floral cards....and for the first week of the month Darnells IDEAS prompt has us thinking INK/Colour Mediums...

Both cards have been stamped with Antique Linen Distress Ink and watercoloured with the same inks, then I added a tiny bit of depth with coloured pencils.  The second card was finished with a gold embossed edge to the white panel and a gold embossed sentiment.
