Joy to the World

Hi there, I'm back today with another Christmas card... this freebie magazine stamp caught my eye and with it's round shape I'm playing along today with The Paper Players #311 theme - Cirlces. I've also designed my card with the layout at 52 (Christmas) Card Throwdown September Sketch.  Happy Little Stampers September Christmas challenge - is to be inspired by a Song and also at Christmas Card - Week 39 photo challenge - Music.  Using this gorgeous shiney music background paper helped my gold circle to frame the stamped image - I coloured this with watercolour pencil (that I haven't used in ages as they've been buried in a craft box for years). Then I just layered this onto some metallic red paper and added a Song inspired sentiment. Thanks for taking a peek

    

Live Life Out Loud

Stamplorations are holding a Colour Blooms Blog hop and Linky Party to celebrate the release of their Colour Blooms Colouring Book especially for card makers, crafters and mixed media artists.  What a fabulous idea - for me it immediately said - a quick grab package for when you're on the go and still want to be able to colour images for my cards. I made this card using the free download page and did have lots of fun.  I thought it lent itself to mixed media so I painted the whole page with white gesso and then used Twinkling H2Os to roughly paint the flowers. Then I spritzed pale pink mist over a stencil on parts and also added some dimension with pink coloured texture paste. I printed another page on card and painted and coloured three flowers to mount over my stamped sentiment label.  I finished by layering the front onto bright colour card and added a few pink Liquid Pearls to the flower centers. One of a Kind

Here is my August Society of Stampaholics Card for the CCC Swap. I sent my card to Sara in USA.
I used both the palette and sketch for my card and then decided  to add one of TH Crazy Birds. I used some designer paper and layers to pull the card together as he seems a bit unhappy.  Thanks for taking a peek

May the Music of Christmas warm your Heart

It's nice to see my Christmas card stash growing and here is another to add...the various blog challenges really do help you be inspired. So my card today is for Jingle Bells with a Musical theme.
The background is a recycled paper serviette - a technique  over which I  stamped a music script. Then I stamped, coloured with Twinkling H2Os and fussy cut an ornament, added a ribbon and some glitter with a gel pen and finally a very appropriate sentiment. I am also posting to Simon Says Wednesday challenge - Anything Goes.  Thanks for taking a peek

NOW!!!  Can you guess what this is........???

Yes, it's a mobile chook pen.... Don't laugh too much, .... yes it's UNIQUE, just like the rest of our house.
Hubby has been busy using up the leftovers from the renovations and has made this out of the old handrails of the front steps, old roofing, timber from both the old floor and exterior walls and bits and pieces the builders left behind.  Hopefully the new chooks will like it when they arrive - we have to finish fencing off the back yard so they'll be free ranging - we hope.  I am working on lots of photos of the house renos and hope soon to have a new blog page to share them.

Merry Christmas

Today I am being inspired by Kim's card (below) for the Muse: Christmas Vision #60 challenge.... I've had some messy fun with inks and finally decided to create my bottom and top edges with the edge of an embossing folder and then to brayer colour over the masked off area....I like how the ink coloured the background but left a white edge on the raised parts.  Then I brayered some die cut snowflakes, added some gens and finished the center with a sentiment panel. Christmas Wishes

'Watercolouring' - well this is one of my favourite techniques - it's just relaxing for me and like last night cooking dinner got a wee bit delayed as I was busily engrossed in painting my image.  I used Distress Ink after stamping the image in Pumice Stone DI. To finish a stamped and embossed sentiment, a few sequins and all layered onto this gorgeous red cardstock I've had for years. A Silhouette card is the theme over at Addicted to CAS #95 this week. This Brushos background is the result of leftover messy ink, so I thought I'd make a starry night Christmas card. Simply stamped this brushstroke tree in black, added the star in embossed gold and flicked some silvery Perfect Pearls over the lot. Finished with a simple layered sentiment. Thanks for taking a peek
