Happy Christmas

For my One Layer Christmas Card this month - #15 Anything Goes with a twist Candy Cane I thought I'd try something different. I've made a snowman card by hand cutting the shape from the top panel card edge - I lightly drew the snow, hat and banner as a guideline and then used markers to colour the parts - I deliberately didn't draw in the left hand side of the snowman.  To include a candy cane I stamped it and then drew in a twig arm. Then for the sentiment I found one I could bend a little on the clear block so it would look like it was flowing with the banner. It was fun and quickish to make.  Thanks for taking a peek

Wishing You Peace, Happiness and Joy

This month at Happy Little Stampers Christmas challenge the theme is "Sparkle".  So the 'sparkle' element on my card today is the background...it is iridescent shimmer blue/purple - to show off my two stamped and embossed ornaments. I layered it on matching purple card to the card base and stamped my sentiment in blue/green and finished the card with matching gems.  Thanks for taking a peek

Merry Christmas

My Christmas cards stash is growing slowly with a couple more added today.  Today I am posting to 'Tis the Season TTS48, with a colour challenge- Summer Lovin'. I stamped and embossed the ornament with pink and blue ink and coloured the non-embossed area with yellow distress ink. Then fussy cut and staggered them onto an embossed background which I mounted on embossed green card.  Finished the card with a sentiment and gems.  Thanks for taking a peek

  

Celebrating Friendship

At House Mouse and Friends they are celebrating their 200th blog challenge - Congratulations everyone and fantastic effort and thanks for all that inspiration.  So I have made a Yellow, Blue and White card with our sweet little mice and friendly blue bird. I layered the image panel of with two frames and onto a polka dot blue background.  Finished with a bow and sentiment.  Thanks for taking a peek

Happy Birthday

When I saw the theme - to use spectacles on your card,  at Shopping Our Stash #214 this week I just had to play with this cute image I stamped up recently while at my friend Vikki's. Some days recently it just feels like I'm galloping along and not getting too far. I used a square card with a window cut in the center and decorated the front with a daisy patterned paper, some die cut daisies with yellow pearl centers; to repeat the theme from the daisy paper  and a simple stamped and layered sentiment.  I positioned the coloured and layered image behind the opening so you couldn't read the fun verse from the outside. Just for You

Today I have enjoyed making a card with my new Inspired by Stamping poppy stamp with some helpful hints from Joanna's new video tutorial.  The image was inked and stamped with antique linen distress ink and then water coloured with distress markers.  Finished with a IBS sentiment and the edge of the panel distressed by running the ink pad along the edge and attaching to the base card with foam tape.  I am posting my card to Stamplorations August month challenge using the theme - Stamps and Watercolour.  Thanks for taking a peek

Christmas is Love with all the Trimmings

Sadly my photo doesn't do justice to my soft pastel colours on this Christmas card for the Merry Monday #168 challenge. I am quite pleased with the image stamped in red and embossed with pearl white embossing powder that softens the outline of the image. I used Distress Inks to colour the poinsettias and then adhered the panel to two layers to frame it.  A sentiment and double ribbon bow finished the card.  I am also posting to Christmas Card Challenge, Week 36 - Anything Goes.  Thanks for taking a peek

Friday Smiles

and it's the middle of August - Annie where is the year going??

I have had a great week, a bit hectic, long hours in the car but plenty to smile about..... also only 12 days till the removalists come...

There she is - little miss Sophie - Oh wow and we go to spend the whole day with her on Monday. If you remember we drove the caravan, cats and plants up to Townsville last weekend and then Sophie arrived home with mum and dad from their trip to Perth to see her other grandparents and as she had slept on the flight and mum and dad hadn't and they were due to go to work the next day .... yeah... so we got to be baby sitters. Well then hubby fixed the swing and hung it from one of the mango trees in the back yard... she just loves it...I got her to wave to me when I ran upstairs for the camera.

AND while we were home the architect called around and the plans for the house renos are now finalized - so I'm also smiling lots about that.

The sun rise photos following are from our trip back on Tuesday... the white on the first pic is really low lying fog - beautiful to see and then as we headed south the fog got thicker... I took lots of photos from the car as it changed every few kilometers.

Now back at home and today I've been sllloooowly packing a few more boxes of my craft room.  I am trying to condense 9 of those plastic drawer sets that were the craze a while back. Now I've one big jar of buttons instead of finding them scattered through out and finally removed a box full from those tiny plastic bags attached to clothes... do you collect them?  I have jars of OLD embossing powder and some with broken lids so these are going in the bin.  I really just wanted to pack a couple of boxes and then stamp up a new stamp that arrived today... oh well, there's tomorrow.
