The Paper Players, CR84FN

Happy TGIF and here in Perth at last it's a much nicer day outside.
Today I've made a Birthday card using the colours from CR84FN 68 - burgundy  grey and cream and the layout from the Paper Players sketches PP123 - it's a bit different in colour style of card I usually make but I do like it, with just a snip of same gorgeous lace I had in my stash garnished with a small pearly button I made with pearls.  Thanks for taking a peek.

Just Add Ink, Dynamic Duos

Well the wind continues from yesterday just not as fierce, last night wasn't pleasant but at least hubby was home if anything disastrous happened.  This morning I've made a card for the Dynamic Duos DD#30  challenge - colours Navy and Silver. I used the layout at Just Add Ink JAI 145...Well I didn't quite make the deadline.  I used my new Spellbinders D-Lites Medallion die.

Retro Sketches, Crazy 4 Challenges, Shopping Our Stash

Well it's a wonder I actually got this card made today....this has been the scariest of days - wind is ferocious and I can't believe so far I've made it through the day without something serious happening to the caravan, it's been awful.  But I suppose making my card has got me to focus on something other than outside.  So I've used the Retro Sketch rs#39 for this layout and over at Crazy4Challenges C4C#164 their request is for your card to PUT A BOW ON IT!  I'm also posting it on Shopping Our Stash #79

Shopping Our Stash Challenge 79: Odds and Ends and/or Waiting to be Used

- using the die cut and circle I had in my stash - it definitely didn't start out like this in my mind but I'm happy with the finished card - I was using the colours from Play Date Cafe (rose, eucalyptus, slate) but that closed a couple hours ago.
Thanks for taking a peek

iSpy Sketches, Bling storage idea

Hi there this Sunday from a beautiful sunny day here in Perth.  I am having so much fun with my distress inks and here's a card I started yesterday using the iSpy Sketch ISSC43. I enjoyed making this card and really like the colours.  Thanks for taking a peek
Just thought I'd also like to share with you my idea for storing my bling.... an A4 folder with plastic trading card pocket sheets - I just trim one side of the plastic packaging and they slip easily into the pocket and then I have pages of the various colours.

Christmas, Timeless Tuesday

This afternoon I was experimenting again with my distress inks and I'm much happier with the results. I'm posting my card to Timeless Tuesday 196- make a card that makes you feel happy.
I used a new stamp from Crafty Individuals and have made a Christmas card for a special friend - I  love the soft colours the distress inks have created and then finished it off with a bow and tag with one of my bling creations.  Thanks for taking a peek

Shopping Our Stash Challenge 77: Thank You or Thanksgiving

Well Vikki and I are at our desks as usual this Saturday with our skype working not so well...but we're still sharing our ideas.
I've used the layout from Freshly Mades Sketches FMS61 and the colours from ColourQ#163 and the sentiment pulls it altogether for Shopping Our Stash 77. I was really impressed with DT member Jen Mitchell's card at Freshly Made so hence the cut out flower.  Thanks for taking a peek

Retro Sketches, Our Creative Corner

Make Your Own Background

Hi there from a rather warm Saturday here in Perth...at least in the caravan it's hot....
Today I've made this card for two challenges...Retro Sketches rs#37 using their layout and over at Our Creative Corner it's - make your own background - with absolutely no patterned paper. So this week I experimented with my Distress Ink Pads and some H2Os in a spray bottle and finally Perfect Pearl Mists then I stamped over with a butterfly/word stamp.  Thanks for taking a peek

Less is More

A quick card this afternoon for the
Less is More Challenge

One Layer Week 93 Houses

I did try it using shades of colours on the image but in the end the plain navy worked best.  I love this stamp and need to find some different ways to use it. Thanks for taking a peek.

Dynamic Duos

A late afternoon card for me today ...I did want to make a card using the Dynamic Duos DD#28 (soft and subtle) colours - really like this red and it goes so nicely with a brown/grey. I made a window in this card and lined it with a red leaf and the stamped and embossed this flower three times and layer the images, then finished it off with a strip of ribbon and some pearl bling.  Thanks for taking a peek

Flourishes - Be Progressive challenge #1

Hi there for 'hump day' Wednesday...
So while browsing my favourite bloggers this morning, I saw at Silke's blog that Flourishes were running something a little different...so I'm up for a challenge any day and decided to give it a go. There's four parts to the Be Progressive Challenge (pop over and see how it works) and here's my card for Part 1 ... a Sketch FLLCNOV12
Thanks for taking a peek

PS  next day I realised I have entred my card to Steps #3 - adding patterned papers and #4 - adding bling to my card

Freshly Made Sketches, Our Creative Corner

I created this background paper with stamps and Glimmer mist and a little sponging for the challenge at Our Creative CornerMake Your Own Background. The stamped image is from Chocolate Baroque and I combine it with some ribbons to complete the layout for Freshly Made Sketches #60. Thanks for taking a peek

Mojo Monday

Hi fellow stampers....it's Monday morning here in Australia and I've just got time (20 mins) to post my card to the Mojo Monday #266 sketch challenge.  I really like this card and think my little bling butterfly is cute too and just finishes off the sentiment. I just selected the background paper and went with the soft colours, adding a bit of H2O colour to the stamped image. I did enjoy making it this morning and wish everyone a special week...thanks for taking a peek

10 Minute Craft Dash

Well you sure can make a mess of your workspace in 10 minutes...but I like this challenge at Pretty Pink Post - 10 Minute Craft Dash #6 - it takes the fussiness out of making cards not that I don't also like making layered busy cards - I do. Enough - so I picked a couple of stamps, decided I'd use die cut flowers/leaves, cut them stamped on them, stamped and embossed my sentiment, curved the corners, stamped the flourish and stuck it all together in 9 minutes 55 seconds.....then looking under the mess I saw my leaves and decided they'd just finish it all off nicely :-)
