I've taken the colours from the Scrapbook Boutique inspirational photo for the January challenge.....two shades of pink and brown. I created the background by distess ink sponging over the little baking paper die cuts you get when you use it with fine dies. I sponged and different floral die cut and layered the card. Christmas Wishes
B is for B for Bare Essentials - Thats a Bare minimum of embellishments!
An ornament Christmas card with double embossing and bare embellishments....gosh I managed to combine all three challenges. Merry Monday #93 have a lovely inspirational pic and I tried to use the colours as well as the ornament theme. 52 (Christmas) Card Throwdown challenge is to use both wet and dry embossing on the card - I embossed the Love, Joy, Peace baubles with olive green and the size fits well with the embossing folder. At ABC Christmas Challenge - B is for bare essentials -so three tiny red gems are just enough to give the baubles some glitz. Thanks for taking a peek Robyn
Thinking of You
Oh yes, it's great to be back fiddling at my desk after having a wonderful visit with our kids and 3mth old granddaughter.
My card today incorporates two challenges from Inspired by Stamping - firstly I've tackled this weeks Whoo Hoo Wednesday technique; #128 Dryer Sheet....although I didn't have a dryer sheet to use I found some very fine fibre fabric which seemed to work just fine with adhereing the glitter. They also have a IBS Blog Hop - Tag It challenge to include a tag - I sponged the edge of my tag to tie it in with the colours on the strip and finished it off with a lovely flower and bling.

What's on your workdesk, Wednesday #243???
....yes what's on your workdesk, this week - WOYWW#243
Mine is not busy at all as I've just returned home this afternoon from 10 days visiting with my kids and grand daughter, and also catching up with my skyping Saturdays friend Vikki.
Right there in the middle are three new sets of stamps just waiting for me to try out. On the left the green papers are ready for making a card just need to find a layout challenge - the small piece is a background I created myself. And the pink and blue card bits are from my first effort with the Gelli pad...I think I have a lot to learn and experiment with....my paints are pretty old. Can't wait to get a good nights rest and get into it as soon as the washing load is on.
If you're wondering what I'm rattling on like this for please check out Julias blog - where a you see listed many like minded crafters sharing what they're up to. Thanks for visiting comments last week now I'm off to check out other crafter bloggers desk, Cheers Robyn

What's On Your Workbench, Wednesday?
Hi there this fine Wednesday and after some thought I've decided to add my post to Julia's fabulous WOYWW#242 blog where varous crafty people share what's happen at their desks...if you'd like to know more click here to go to her blog and to also check out the other bloggers. I'm not actually at home this week, lucky for me I'm visiting with our kids and baby grand daughter. But we have started a project at home to refurbish an old rocker reliner chair we bought last week at the Salvo's shop when we were there buying my craft shelf that now houses at arms length my jars of flowers and ribbons...see last weeks' post. I thought to take pics of the chair as we pulled it apart but only after we'd begun and so I don't have one of it for before and after shots...so will keep you posted on how it comes along. Thanks for taking a peek and happy crafting Robyn

Happy Birthday
Hello this sunny Saturday. Today I've made a swing card for a little girls birthday - all bright and pink, dots, flowers and butterflies. The swing card is for the Just Add Ink #198 Blog Hop challenge and I must say one of those special dies to cut the card would be a great investment. Also my card following the layout for the challenge at Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #PCCCS76. Thanks for taking a peek, happy weekend Robyn

Friends
One of the following themes: Valentine's Day or Winter or Friends
Finally I have finished my card for the Card Chain Challenge run at Society Of Stampaholics. I used all three of the options above only reversing the layout.
Hope you are enjoying your Friday...I'm watching the Australian Tennis Open while playing at my desk. If you're a manic card maker or not you might like to join in this group to exchange cards. Cheers and thanks for taking a peek Robyn
Life is Good
Having fun with Distress Inks today .... my first time posting to Tim Holtz 12 tags for 2014 - January. I haven't really played with distress inks other than creating some interesting backgrounds, so this shall be a learning event for me. Marvellous what you can find to use on a tag like trying to "copy" Tims example - my clock is from an embossing folder. Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

With Best Wishes
PS...I really didn't like the cream card with my original card so I luckily I was able to pull the front off with any damage and re-do it....I think I looks a lot better
WHW #126 Creating Custom Pattern Paper
This afternoon I've tackled a tutorial at Inspired by Stamping where Leah has made this lovely card using the new stamp set Vintage Roses. I even had to create the mint colour by mixing Broken China and Shabby Shutters distress inks, misting and mixing and swiping across white card stock. Then I used a swirl stamp in a darker shade ink to create the overall pattern and finally randomly white embossed a flower. I finished it off with a die cut Fancy Label and a paper flower I layered and tinted up the centres with pink. I've used these colours so I can post to the IBSIC#74 challenge as well. What's On Your Workdesk, Wednesday?
Yes, there you go - It's Wednesday already again, and time for our WOYWW #241 desk photo...we're a group of like minded busy crafting people who like to share their weekly Wednesday messy desks as part of Julia's Stamping Ground blog, if you'd like to know more click here.
This morning I have already put a card together and have just taken a photo so I can post it to a couple of challenge blogs. So while I have the camera in hand I've taken this pic, it also shows far right two feathers that I inked up and used on a card yesterday, a stamp I've yet to clean, tape to put away, empty mug from this mornings cuppa. A card in progress middle left for the Society of Stampaholics-card chain challenge where we get to make a card and postt it to someone we don't know worldwide. Ink cube tray to put away and happily I have used flowers on my cards after having last week sorted and stored my flowers in jars on the shelf...it's working having them in sight.
Having lovely weather here in Yeppoon, hope it's pleasant where you are,
cheers and thanks for taking a peek Robyn
Let it Snow
Challenge #151 - Love Plaid
A Christmas card from me today too.....
I'm using three challenges for this card - at Try Stamping on Tuesdays #151 they have combined a layout with "Plaid", at Merry Monday #91 the theme is Snowmen and Jingles Belles are playing with "Something Old, Something New" - here I've used this to include an 'OLD' style Snowman picture cut from a NEW Christmas pack - Christmas Village, I often wonder what you would do with these pages so now I'm cutting them up to include on my cards...not much stamping on this card but I like the traditional colour scheme picked up from the plaid designer paper (also from the Christmas Village pack).
Thanks for taking a peek, Robyn
Bright Friends
Good morning on this 'hump' day of the week - hope it's nice at your place. I've made this card today using the colours at Inkspirational #47 and the layout for Paper Crafts Crew Card Sketch #75 -a bright cheery Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Friends
My card today is for the CAS(E) this sketch CTS#59 challenge....their layout caught my eye and so did the cards from the DT girls. I really liked the feathers idea - but - no feather stamps, so yesterday on our morning beach walk I picked up a feather and the today thought I might be able to ink it and use it to 'stamp' on my card (well I really used my roller) - it worked and I found another feather out in the garden...so I'm really happy how it turned out.... 2014 Happy Birthday
Hi there fellow card makers...wasn't sure how I was going to interpret this pic from Crazy 4 Challenges #217 but I'm glad I went with the clocks because I'm really happy how it turned out. I distress coloured some water colour card and then ran it though the cuttlebug with the clock embossing folder, ran the versamark clear pad over the raised areas and heat embossed it with silver embossing powder. I tied it in with the pic with the 2014 banner, a happy birthday sentiment that I could easily add a number to represent the age of the recipient in 2014. Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Best Wishes on your Birthday
Wow this card came together for me so quickly after I found the roses designer paper which worked for me with the Curtain Call January 1 challenge - Smitten. This is a new blog challenge for me and I love the colours, mine are a bit subtler but I like them and I've with this with the layout at Just Us Girls #222. Thanks for taking a peek

Birthday for a Male
TGIF... for those of you who work and don't spend all day at their home desk; no I really have been busy elsewhere in the home today, made cauliflower soup and the filling for beef and mushroom pies, also the sheets and towels are blowing madly on the line because the sun came out today. Anyway I need a card for a male and when I saw colours on the Fusion #1 challenge I thought maybe blokeish colours so I've teamed it with the layout at Unscripted Sketches #238...and come up with this card. I also tried something a bit different; creating the background by using distress ink on my embossing folder, spritzing the card and quickly running it through the cuttlebug - I like how it's blotchy and the pattern being white really stands out. Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Hope you're enjoying your week...cheers and thanks for taking a peek Robyn
