Our Beautiful World

Week 90 at Our Beautiful World and
the word prompt from team member Ros is
BOTTLES
On my craft desk I have this recycled kitchen holder with my most used bottles of glue, sprays and paints

On top of our fridge is also an array of bottles ... the Shiraz is the only one yet to be opened.
And here we have a few of my perfume bottles - I love the shapes that are available today.
What delightful bottles do you have about your home?
We'd love for you to share your photos with Our Beautiful World,
so please pop over to the blog - join in the fun and
check out the other team members photos for this week.
Cheers Robyn

Thank You

I had started out thinking I would sponge Distress Ink through this swirly stencil - that wasn't too bad. So with another attempt I first ran the stencil through my Cuttlebug with the rubber mat and got a great impression so I replaced the stencil and tried sponging through it onto the raised swirls - mmm not too bad. Then I realised I had heaps of sponged ink on the stencil and I decided to give it a light water spray and ran it again through the Cuttlebug with a new piece of white card....
And this is the result... I'm rapt - I got a lovely soft background and the white embossed swirls are really highlighted. Another little pre stamped image from my stash drawer and coloured with Distress Ink and given a good wetting spray softened the colours and pushed the colours "out of the lines" .... I like to "keep in the lines" but I love how soft this turned out. Finished the card by layering the image on some matching cardstock.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

What's On Your Workdesk, Wednesday ??

..in my opinion!Week 303 at What's On Your Workdesk, Wednesday..... want to know more pop over to Julias blog, find out the details and yes join in the world-wide desk snooping.
Here is my desk, first thing this morning.....
trusty laptop on the left and then a couple piles of "cards in progress" maybe I should give them an acronym CIP - I'm always making them - ideas I see and try out, bits I've collected for a card challenge - there's at least four in the wind there. Hanging from my colourful drawers...a birthday calendar from Daphnes's Diary mag, then at the back two cards on my birds recently received in the post.  Now on the right is my container I took to a card class yesterday - that just got dumped on the desk as I pulled out all the bits to the card we were making - that colourful Easter easel card on my work pad with left over papers and tiny punched flowers and eggs - it's not finished as I'm going to put my twist to it!!!
Now I just had to add this later photo....can you see the addition.....a set of Gelatos - I spied them at BIG W while I was out shopping this morning and I'm eager to try them out.....sadly they are still there as I type this post - I've been busy with housework and preparations as we are off again tomorrow to visit the family in Townsville as it is our daughters 30th this weekend.
That's all from me this week, the sun in a golden orb just above the horizon and shining brightly into my craft room....so as we Aussies say..."see ya later"
Cheers Robyn

Card Chain Challenge -March

Today I can post my Card Chain Challenge for March as it has arrived safely with Sabrina.
I masked off and water coloured the bottom section with the colours of the challenge. Then I laid the two colours for the die cut 'hello' side by side and put double sided tape across them so they wouldn't move when I ran it through the machine. I then had to figure out where to lay the die on my card front to match the division of the two colours and ran that through the machine. Now I replaced the negative die cut with my colour version and stamped the rest of the sentiment on the water coloured section. The card was layered onto two co-coordinating colours and finished with a few gems.

Best wishes

Another super pre stamped image in my stash drawer this week has come in handy for this weeks challenge at Inkspirational #78 - image of a woman. Doesn't she look stylish in her "flapper" (cloche) hat. So I decided just to colour her hat and play with two challenges asking for Black and White and my choice of one other colour.....Just Us Girls #285 and Time Out Challenges #27. I have used the sketch at Fusion Card Challenge for my layout.

Just Sittin' Here Thinking of You

Here's another cute little guy I found in my pre stramped drawer today....he needed to be made into a card too.  My Distress Inks sure do get a work out - the background was by swiping Peacock Feathers across my plastic work sheet spraying with lots of water and dragging my card through it. Then I randomly sponged Ripe Persimmon through a stencil. I coloured the cat with DIs, gave his heart a dob of Dimensional Magic and layered him onto matching card. A cool sentiment and three ribbon tags finished off the card. I'm posting my card to Try Stamping on Tuesdays - #210 Sketch, Shopping Our Stash #193 - Make your own Background and Simon Says Monday challenge - use an Animal on  you project.

Fairy Wishes

Yesterday I found this lonely little rose fairy in my pre -stamped drawer and decided she needed some colour.....I used bright spring colours to make a happy card for a little girl. I coloured her with Distress Inks, put glitter glue on her wings and layered it onto two shade of yellow card and finished her off with a lovely organza bow, gems and sentiment. I'm playing along with CAS.olog - Blossom, Simon Says Wednesday challenge - Spring inspired  photo and Penny Black & More... March challenge - Blossoms and Bows.

Live for Today, Dream of Tomorrow

ooooh dear I am a floral lady, just love flowers, so couldn't not post a card to these two challenges... CAS.ology - Blossom  and The Paper Players PP236 - Clean and Simple: Floral.
As this is a NBUS (new) stamp which I'm really liking - I'm joining Darnell and NBUS#4,... I just stamped and colored with Distress Inks and washed the background in very pale blue and drew a frame around it.  A simple layer of designer paper and a black banner finishes the card.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Family tag

I like this months tag for Tim's 12 tags of 2015, March - it's bright, colourful and shiny. Improvising again with mediums and after a first attempt where I didn't read to let the texture paste dry, I redid the tag and am  very happy with the end result. I ended up using pearl gold embossing powder as I discovered my normal gold is yuk, too old!!! I silver embossed a die cut letter and found a few trinkets to attach. I stamped the sentiment on silver card and embossed it so it looks a bit like an embellishment. This will also be my project for our ABC Tag/Card challenge - letter 'F'

Friday Smiles

Share a smile...Happy Friday Smiles #111 (please pop over to Annies blog to join in and share your happy moments).... so I'm blinking and wondering where the whole of  Friday went.... I went out early and posted off my Cards for Aussie Troops, got a few groceries, hung out the sheets and then I sat down at the computer...silly me - I opened the Ancestry.com site and next thing I know Stephen is home (early) and it's 4:30pm. I just decided I might try again to find any links to Stephens mothers mother... no luck...yet, but I did get to add another branch to the family tree for Stephens aunt.
So I'm having a browse while watching the Aussie playing cricket and found the following on facebook....thought it was a bit funny...yeah it is 21 century, Russia.   ps I  don't drink beer!!
Have a super weekend, Cheers Robyn

and here's a few comments left on FB

Beer is ALCOHOL???? I always thought it was a lubricant!
I can relate to that - no Irish person considers Guinness alcohol - it is Mother's Milk, the health food of the nation!
I've been telling my wife this for years ......

What's On Your Workdesk, Wednesday?

Hello from sunny Queensland, desk peeper.....yes it's Wednesday and I'm joining in Julias group of crafty individuals who share photos of their latest activities....WOYWW #303.
..in my opinion! My desk today is displaying my "red/pink" drawer of scraps as I'm making a patchwork card and thought pink would be good. Below is the finished card and as I found some many scraps I made another base for later. The only other not usual thing on the desk, is the plastic bag on the right full of Mothers' Day cards I'm sending off tomorrow for the Aussie Troops to use (Australia - Mothers day is May 10). My glass of water is missing in the photo but it is there now...not doing too badly with the 'drink more water' thing. Also you can see just peeping out under my desk is a foot massager and on the right my very dirty clean everything towel.
Thanks for visiting, I'm off to snoop and few desks now, Cheers Robyn

Happy Birthday

Congratulations to the team - a fabulous achievement and many inspiring challenges.
To play along we could select two past challenges and combine them - so I chose challenge #55 sketch and challenge #61 - All about Scraps.
I've been thinking to use up my scraps for some time so I delved into the 'pink' drawer and have created a patchwork background to display my tag. There are three layers to the tag with a top velum layer stamped with a butterfly. The tag is finished with a sentiment, flower and bow.

Happy Mothers Days

This afternoon my card is another Mothers' Day Card for the pile I'm going to send off to be distributed to the Aussie troops abroad. I used the sketch at Try Stamping on Tuesdays #209.
I used a sheet of designer paper for the background and one of the co-coordinating strip, layered with a grey card strip to finish the bottom of the die cut fancy circle. I finished the card with a sentiment and round embellishment and heart.

Hello Friend

As winner of the February #27 sketch challenge, I have the honor of being guest designer for the #30 sketch challenge at Stamplorations.
I decided to make two cards ...

For my first card, I created the green panel using the Stamplorations Trendy Leaves stamp set stamped in Distress Inks then I used texture paste coloured with the Distress Inks with a die cut leaf stencil. I used a die to cut a tag and then stamped the sentiment from the Stamplorations Bloom Sketches set and stamped and fussy cut the leaf stamp again to attach to the tag. A final thin strip of coordinating green for the triple layers and a thin ribbon for the tag finished the card.

For my second card I chose a bloom from the Stamplorations Bloom Sketch set, abd sentiment from Stamplorations Tree Silhouettes. I used a background panel I had created earlier with Distress Inks and sprayed with Perfect Pearls Mist that somehow blends the colour beautifully. A white die cut panel and two shades of purple give me a lovely backdrop for the blooms I coloured to match and fussy cut them. Finished off my card with the stamped sentiment and a few sequins.
Are you inspired by the sketch and cards for #30 challenge - why not join in, it's loads of fun and you don't have to use Stamplorations stamps, just spread to love of creating cards.
