Out of my comfort zone.....I don't really do black but today at our card making morning Alicia had us make these to black and white cards.... I tweeked a few elements but then when I got home I decided to see what they would look like with coloured flowers....I like them better, what do you think. My friend has shared a new challenge site with me - Crafty Boots Challenges - the theme this week is Black and White so I am going to post my card there. Thanks for taking a peek

Plant the Seeds of Change
I am posting to Addicted to Stamps and More challenge #150 - a photo inspiration (below). I stamped my potted pansies on a watercoloured background and coloured them with watercolour pencils, then simply stamped an appropriate sentiment and mounted the panel to my card base. Merry Christmas
I often forget to use my embossing folders and I really like this one and feel that it goes really well with this stamped and embossing Christmas Bauble...I stamped in Navy onto Sand coloured card, fussy cut it, added a bow and gem and then foam mounted it to the front panel. I layered it onto Sand and Navy card and finished off with a stamped sentiment. I am posting to 'Tis the Season TTS#45 for the colour palette - Navy, Sand and Concord and to Christmas Card challenge #30 - Anything Goes. Thanks for taking a peek
Wishing You a Warm & Wonderful Holiday
My Christmas card this morning is for the challenge at CASE-ing Christmas...see below the card for week #26. I have used my icicles dies to create masks over which I sprayed blue and purple mists, I also masked off a diagonal section of the panel. I also misted white cards stock and die cut three icicles which I mounted with foam tape and added gem centers. To get a matching layer I sprayed white card with the blue mist and finished the card with a sentiment and gems. Thanks for taking a peek
Happy Everything
Just time to play along with two challenges over at Stamplorations...
Sketch #35 and the monthly challenge for June....Stamps and Washi.
I've made this bright cheerful card useful for any occasion but for me an appropriate birthday verse inside will be the most useful. I stamped and clear embossing the flower stamp in three colours then die cut black stamen, topped with black gems for the centers. Foam tape mounted them on three strips of Washi tape...that I managed to recycle from an envelope sent to me as I don't have any washi tape. Layered the top panel on matching card onto my base and finished with a Stamplorations sentiment. Thanks for taking a peek

Merry Christmas Elf
My last card for today is adding to my Christmas stash... and if you don't have an Elf stamp well then you make one or at least his shoes....I used a labels die to get the pointy fronts and hand cut the rest of the shoes and then a lace die for the fringy bit. A some stripe socks, a couple of pompoms, some hand pen stitching and some bows to finish. I mounted them a some printed paper and decided it didn't need a sentiment...so sadly no stamping on this card. Anyway, this card was fun to make and I'm posting to Rudolph Days June challenge...anything goes, and to 52 (Christmas) Card Throwdown - Elves. Thanks for taking a peek

Friday Smiles
My first pic sure bought a smile to my face one morning this week...look out the front door and there's the neighbours cat staring up the tree... and there up the tree is our ginger Henry... bailed up. It seems Oscar has been in the area for many years and has even swapped owners, but he walks around like he owns the place, even ventures in the door and helps himself to food...well you can imagine our two are not impressed...so there's lots of snarling, and hissing and running.
Now I have started the packing process for our move - slow and steady I figure. And I'm trying to rid myself of many books I've carted around for years...I loved these gorgeous Notebooks, and have decided to rip the front page out as it is made of card and have cut up the gorgeous flowers and will make them into postcards... big grin!!
These sky shots I took late yesterday afternoon - sun's been out all day and I'm noticing out my window it's getting darker... then the thunder and lightning starts and I race out to get the sheets of the line and then race in and out with the camera..
in minutes it had gone to this and then the rain came and even hail, first time I've seen that here.
That's all from me this week...hubby's just arrived home and we'll go and enjoy a quiet drink and talk over the days events.

Snowman card
Today I have added another card to my Christmas stash...a snowman with a 'funky' hat....for the Merry Monday challenge #164. I am also posting to The Mixed Media Card challenge for June - theme Collage with an option on a Frame. I have used a Distress Ink and Perfect Pearls background to which I added a 'frame' of snow flakes, scored this area and also gave it another light mist of blue. Then I created the snowy ground with silver scrunched tissue paper. My snowman's body and head, have a layer of texture paste roughly smoothed on with my finger, then a light coat of glue sprinkled with glitter....a ribbon scarf, die cut twig arms, scraps of card face and buttons on his body. Finally topped of with his glorious flunky hat...cut with dies, added ribbon band, stamped and embossed holly and a few squiggles of white gel pen. Thanks for taking a peek

Every Journey begins with a Single Step
Ok today I have finished this male birthday card - I don't make them very often but I did have this gorgeous sailing ship stamped up in my stash. I just masked the image and "misted" the background with Magical Micas and to give it a really sparkly finish, misted on some Perfect Pearls. I masked and darkened the bottom where the sea might be and used a white gel pen on the breaking wave tops. I lightly coloured the ships hull and the flags and layered it on a teal background. I searched for an appropriate sentiment and foam mounted that and then decided to add just a very small birthday sentiment. I am posting to CASology #152 and The Challenge #40 at Always Playing with Paper who are both having a "Nautical" theme. Also to Shopping Our Stash #207 - a Male card and Simon Says Monday Challenge - is to use Stamps and Mist.

"TINY"
I wasn't sure how my photos would turn out as my good camera is yet to be returned.
Saying goodbye to hubby this morning and the sprinkler system had finished watering my pots and I noticed all the tiny water droplets, so thought I'd see if I could capture them...not too bad!!
