IDEAS Week 4 - Anything Goes and Beautiful Blossoms

I so enjoyed making some cards with my old large PSX botanical stamps last week... I made a few more.  And they fit in perfectly with the Anything Goes week 4 of the month with Darnells IDEAS prompt.

The stamps are inked with Distress Oxide inks and then watercoloured pulling the colours from the stamped inked outline

Next I have a watercoloured floral ... the stamp used for this card is Penny Black Garden Gems...  I stamped it lightly first with Antique Linen Distress Ink and then watercoloured with Distress Inks, and finished with a stamped gold embossed sentiment.
I'm joining in the challenge at Beautiful Blossoms #17 with the mood board for colour inspiration.

And lastly I have made a stack of small Thank You cards to hand out at our Cancer Council Big Morning Tea event at our Crochet group

My latest crochet project... Stardust Melodies blanket - a Polly Plum design which will be donated as a door prize at the morning tea.

Watercolouring

This month the ladies at

Group of Seven Cardmakers have been creating with ELEGANT MARKERS..

Well I don't have any of these special markers but the technique inspired me to try something similar with Distress Oxide Inks...
Inked up a couple of my very old PSX stamps and pulled the colours from the outline to water colour the images... I like them

Embossing folders..

Firstly I'm sharing a lovely sunset from last evening..  the colours were even richer in real life

I'm sharing this card with
I embossed the plain card that I picked to team with the floral patterned paper, then added some gold die cuts and sentiment and lastly fussy cut some flowers from the same paper

Some light blending of Distress Oxide inks over this lovely 3D Christmas Embossing Folder makes for a quick and easy card ... always great to be adding to the Christmas stash.

And as it's week 3 of the month I'm joining

Darnell with her IDEAS prompt...  E - Embossing Folders

and

Beautiful Blossoms challenge #17 using the mood board for inspiration

Three ways to use die cuts on your cards...

It's week two of the month so time for some Die Cutting with Darnell's IDEAS prompt.

Nothing easier than a simple card combining some round die cuts with a plain white floral spray, finished off with a sentiment and some matching pearls.

Quite often when I'm at the Cuttlebug I cut a few of the same dies... and this Protea was in my stash ready for some simple watercolouring with Distress Inks -- then nicely matched up with some patterned paper and a stamped sentiment.

Lastly I saw this technique recently (sorry I can't remember where)   Die cut the image (magazine freebie) in black card and use the outer die to cut a mask, then using this to blend colour (Distress Inks) only where the die cut will fit

I am also joining in the May challenge at Triple 'B' - with my last card featuring a bird.

Watercolour painting ..... floral cards

Of course my cards will feature flowers - I love them the best and most probably have the most floral stamps...

... and this is the first Monday of the month so it's 'I' for Inks/Colour Mediums  -- the prompt from Darnell's IDEAS.

This stamped image (STAMPlorations) - stamped in black and clear embossed (makes it much easier to colour in the lines) and watercoloured with Distress Inks, finished with a embossed stamped sentiment.

Second card - Uniquely Creative floral from Sending Love set....stamped in great Versafine and watercoloured with Distress Inks and finished with a silver embossed sentiment.

A Mothers' Day card for my mum - silver embossed a favourite PSX very old wood mounted Lily stamp... watercoloured with Distress Inks and a silver embossed sentiment.

Sent my card off to Mum with this framed crocheted floral heart -  she received it today and loves it.

I'm playing along with the

Using Stencils....

So happy to be continually inspired by Darnell's IDEAS prompt.... it being the fifth Monday of the month is to use Stencils.  I have two cards today using Distress Oxide inks.

My first card features the ARTplorations stencil - Flowers 1, framed it with a stitched die cut and added gold Magical Micas to highlight the petals and finished with a stamped sentiment (Stampin' Up) - gold embossed.

For my second card I also used an ARTplorations stencil - Doodled Tulips and softly blended the colours leaving a nice white outline... then finished with a stamped green embossed sentiment.

I am joining in the challenges at Just Us Girls challenge #724 - Anything Goes with a Stencil (both cards)
... also  at Beautiful Blossoms #16 - using the optional mood board for my colours (second card)
