Scrapbook Boutique challenge

Morning addicted card makers....This is my card for the Scrapbook boutique monthly challenge for October, just making my post by the skin of my teeth...but I really wanted to have a go as black and white are not my favourite colours to work with...the inspiration are the challenges gorgeous black and white flower cup cakes...and I do like flowers. I couldn't resist adding a smug of dusty pink :)

Mojo 212, Christmas

Crazy 4 Challenges C4C110

Happy weekend everyone...
I was inspired by Barbara Anders lovely autumn leaves card at C4C 110 challenge  to make this one layer card.  http://crazy4challenges.blogspot.com/2011/10/crazy-4-challenges-c4c110.html  I tried scoring some grid lines on my card but ended with them inverted so will remember next time which side to score them on. The Play Date Cafe challenge 104

Yesterday I was checking out my friend Vikki's blog and noticed the Play Date Cafe challenge blinkie, then on checking it out saw that their colour challenge for this week  was Mauve, Egg Yolk and Artichoke....well with Greens and Purples being my favourite colours how could I not have a go... here my take with the colours on a Christmas card.....this stocking is a Stamps Happen stamp with fine intricate lines and I found it quite hard to colour with my water pencils. Now to put a blinkie on my blog  :)

Christmas cards

Mojo 211

Here's a Christmas version of the Mojo ...Thanks for taking a peek....

Lily Pad Challenge, OCCC - totally transparent

Morning fellow card addicts,
I'm starting off my weekend early this week as hubby is away and so my time is my own  :)
This card started out with the OCC challenge and the use of a transparency which I realize is a newish thing ...well I have had this flower stamped in my stash for a couple of years (just waiting for today) from when I was playing with overhead projector transparency sheets - I coloured the background with drawing ink and lightly squashed it between two sheets then stamped the image in black Stayzon and dusted over the flower with gold inference powder (all on the back side of the sheet), mounting the square on lemon card really makes the colour pop.. I'm so pleased OCC put up this challenge as at last I got to use my flower...it all came together with Nina's sketch challenge...thank you ladies.
Marjie has asked me if only the flower is the transparency - no, the whole square of red/orange/yellow is transparency sheet. I don't have my camera this weekend so had to scan the card, so it's a bit flat and you can't see the gloss sheen or the shimmer of the flower.

House Mouse challenge 106, Lily Pad October Card Chain challenge

This week House Mouse have a Halloween theme, using the colours - black, yellow, orange and green. http://housemouse-challenge.blogspot.com/
and Lily Pad October Card Chain challenge also have a Halloween theme
Hi everyone...well here in Australia we don't really celebrate Halloween in a big way, hence I don't have any stamps, including pumpkins to create my card....so I just put this card together with some of my pre-stamped images ...I love this cute cat he looks pretty 'miffed'  !!!

Mojo 210, C4C 108, Lily Pad Colour challenge

Happy TGIF stamping friends. With this card I have combined 3 challenges. Firstly Mojo Monday layout where I set my layers slightly askew. Then for Kathy's Lily Pad Palette I used the colours - Rust, Teal and Yellow, I love these colours and so they led me to the Crazy4Challenges recipe to use a Leaf image, the colour Rust and no more than two fibres or three pieces of bling.  I love autumn and I had fun with this card.  Thanks for taking a peek.

Lily Pad Card Chain October challenge, Deconstructed Sketch 122

Deconstructed Sketch 22
Morning happy stampers
For this card I tackled two challenges - firstly the colours from the Lily Pad challenge also incorporating another of the elements - Friendship.
Then friend Vikki challenged me with the Deconstructed Sketch format which I ended up turning sideways as it fitted better with my sentiment. I found this lovely Bali button in my tin and I think it finishes off the card.

Mojo 209

Well I am very happy to say my friend Vikki is back from her trip and I was able to skype with her today while we each put together our Mojo cards.
To start I wasn't sure about this outline but I am very happy with my card I even stamped my own background paper and used my impressionabilities, thank you Mojo ladies for your inspiration. Thanks for taking a peek...enjoy your week.

Less is More challenge: week 38 - one layer with a heart

For a quick and simple one layer card I put together this card. I have this string of hearts border stamp from a Hero Arts set that I have used once so I thought I'd combine it with the simple 'with love' words that just fitted in nicely with the line, embossed them and added some bling. Thanks for taking a peek.

Our Creative Corner - fall colour challenge

Morning fellow stampers here's my card for this weeks OCC challenge - I tried my version of resist embossing  but instead of picking up the white embossing powder I sprinkled on pearl white and to start with I wasn't too pleased with the first efforts but kept sponging on colour and "whellarh" I've come up with this autumn card.

Our Creative Corner - inspiration from another country card 2

So here's another card - felt a bit silly not having read the outline properly so quickly thought what else I could do. We have lived in Papua New Guinea on two occasions and their flag is very bright and colourful and brings back some fantastic memories. Thanks for taking a peek.

Our Creative Corner - inspiration from another country

Well I couldn't help myself today, Australia is my home, but I decided to post this card; even though I misread the challenge outline, for a number of reasons.
Firstly I discovered this die cut map of Australia just a few weeks ago while scrounging in a drawer - it's been there many years...then I didn't know what to do with it so decided to go with our flag colours and its design. Secondly, we live on one side (west) of this vast country and our dearly missed kids live way on the opposite side (east) - some 3000 kms. And the rest of our families are spread from the south, along the east coast and up to the very top - hence we don't see each other often. Hi family!!
Thirdly, today is the day my special friend Vikki and her family return from their wonderful 3 week holiday in Europe.   Have missed you Vikki and our Saturday Skyping sessions...enjoy your week off and hope to catch up next weekend.

Thanks for taking a peek....have a marvelous weekend :)
