Wishing you a Magical Christmas

Can't believe I have just made three Christmas cards in a row, but I do so like to be all done with my Christmas card making by mid Nov, so I can get them sent off by December.
This card is for the Jingles Belles challenge - Here comes Santa Claus.... to include a santa on your card.  I had this one leftover from last year, a lovely old stamp that I'd inked with maroon - so I decided to add some depth to the image and softly coloured some of it with pencils, also added some white gel and silver gel pen on his glasses and the stars.  I layered the panel to dark maroon and blue onto a white card and added a stamped sentiment with a snowflake and gem to finish.  I am also going to post this to Merry Monday - Christmas in July Summer Link-up.... I had to go way back to early last year for a challenge featuring 'Santa'

On Christmas night ...

Today I have another Christmas card to add to my stash which I'm happy to say is looking good especially with 21 weeks to go.  I am playing along with House Mouse and Friends challenge #246 - Christmas in July, Just Us Girls week 404 - Use something old &/or new, and Simon Says Monday challenge - You've Got the Edge - have your project draw your eye to the edge.
I used a very old House Mouse stamp, and stamped my image three times so I could do a little bit of paper-tolling to add some interest to the card. I coloured my images with Brushos and then fussy cut them out and used foam tape to mount them.  I chose this designer paper so I could cut around some of the berries and cone and slip my panel under to give some interest to the edge. Then I layered onto deep red card and checked paper to match the ribbon on the dp to create a frame. I used a new die to cut a couple of pine cones, coloured them and adhered dark brown card to the back and attached them with a matching bow.  To finish I added some shine to the candle stick with silver gel pen and gold inference powder around the flame.  I am also posting to Watercooler Wednesday challenge WWC129 - All About Christmas and to  Merry Monday - Christmas in July Summer Link-up - as inspiration challenge #246

Merry Christmas

WOW What a stunning card from Muse Jessica, for the Muse Christmas Vision MCV82 challenge, Christmas in July.  I love everything about her card - the die cut leaves backed with blue, the gorgeous water coloured poinsettia, the added sequins and rings of gold and finally the sparkly die cut sentiment.... so here's my rendition. I backed my die cut leaf sprays with blue and stamped my flower and embossed with sparkly gold embossing powder and then painted it with Brushos and fussy cut it out.  I die cut the sentiment twice - in sparkly gold and blue and glued them together. Then arranged my sequins and gold rings (a pen tip dipped in gold glitter glue) and to finish, attached my sentiment and 3D mounted my flower.  I am also posting to Rudolph Days challenge - Anything Goes.  Thanks for taking a peek

Birthday Wishes

Well it's Saturday morning here in Australia and I'm enjoying a lovely sunny day and time at my desk.. yes I've done my chores and already made this card.. happy woman.
This is very 'clean and simple' for me but being inspired by the challenge of the Double 'D' mood board this month - black and white and a 'pop' of colour has me creating less is more!!.  I stamped, water coloured with Brushos and fussy cut my image, then simple die cut a black frame with two of my stitched dies and finished of with a stamped and embossed sentiment.  I am also playing along at Addicted to Stamps and More - Make your Mark by colouring on your card, and also at Happy Little Stampers CAS challenge - with the theme - Birthday.  Thanks for taking a peek

Hello Friend

So today my card is inspired by Christine's card below for this months Power Poppy challenge - Copy a Bloomie  - copy and share your inspiration from one of the PP team.  I just love the bright colours of this card and the fact that Christine formed a wreath from a small stamp on a set.  I have chosen two small sprays from the Countryside Bouquet Deluxe set and stamped and masked them into a wreath shape, then coloured them with Brushos and fussy cut.  I copied the other aspects of her card too... the layout, the stitching and ribbon bow and firstly the bright green main panel.  I'm very happy with how it turned out and I also love to use stamps in a different way. I am also  posting to Colour Throwdown challenge CTD453  with the colour theme - Crimson, Yellow and Green and also to Simon Says Wednesday challenge - Anything Goes.  Thanks for taking a peek

on the Town

Today I have an ATC for the Happy Little Stampers July challenge - Animals.  This ATC so reminds me of our ginger cat Henry, who like to stalk the neighbourhood at night if I don't catch him after his dinner.  The background is created using the Faux Wood technique -scoring lines, swiping with paint and Distress Inks.  Then on the scraps I stamped the buildings and added a touch of colour to each.  I stamped my 'Town' on a green scrap added some hand writing and sponged on some white ink.  To finish I die cut the cat and sponged him up to look like our ginger and mounted him with 3D tape.  Thanks for taking a peek

May your life be like a Wildflower...

I'm really liking this card... a little different style for me - still flowers, but again a Distress Inked background, over sponged with a stencil, the same I used in the top corner by inking the stencil and press it to the card.  The I used Fossilized Amber DI to stamp the flower and again Distress Inks to colour it.  I picked some unusual colours to layer my panel onto a white card and to finish added a stamped sentiment.  I am posting to Stamplorations Theme and Sketch July challenge - the theme is Warm Colours.  I do like the colours I've used - feels warm and sunny - the colours of summer so I am also posting to Virginia's Summer Blog Party  - we may be in winter here in Australia but I live in sunny north Queensland and our days are just glorious at the moment.  Thanks for taking a peek

Do more of what makes you Happy

This month at ARTastic July challenge is to use pen work on your artwork. I chose this mixed media panel from my stash which I created with Distress Inks and stencils and sponged paint and a few swirl stamps.  For my pen work I added a border, and a few more dots and lines to the swirls and lastly added some white pen to outline the flowers. To finish I added a stamped sentiment...which I so agree with and went nicely with the happy colours.  Thanks for taking a peek

Hello...

Weeellll I don't know where this card came from, definitely not my usual floral, but I was pretty much inspired by Marcie (her card below) the guest artist at the Muse challenge #226. I popped over to her blog to read how she'd made the background - with paint... so as I don't a supply of paint I resorted to my Brushos.  I swiped the black Archival Ink pad over a white card and then using four colours I sprinkled each separately, spritzed with water, moved it a little with a brush and heat dried between each colour.  Then I black inked the edge of my panel and flicked white paint about (that's the hardest part of making the background - got it everywhere).  Then stuck it to a white card and finished off with a die cut sentiment, glued to aqua card and hand cut. It was fun and I have inky fingers to prove it.  Thanks for taking a peek.

Happy Birthday

Another male birthday card from me, can't believe it - soit's a good thing I'm playing along with Watercooler Wednesday "Masculine" Anything Goes challenge WWC128 and Challenge #65 at The Male Room - Mixed Media technique this week.  When I stamped this yacht I masked off the water and stamped it in black and then inked the water in blues and repeatedly stamp the waves - I coloured the image with Distress Inks and added some white gel pen to the wave peaks... then I messed it up by dry embossing the bottom section... it looked better before. I then used another stamp to added some birds and lightly watercolour washed the sky.  I found this great background paper and used a teal coloured card. After mounting up the layers I added a stamped sentiment and twine and a ships wheel trinket - I'm hoping this is kind of Mixed Media.  Thanks for taking a peek.
