Twofer Christmas cards

On an off chance sometimes I buy those gorgeous 12 x 12  DP packs - and at the end of last season I picked up this lovely Christmas pack on sale... I can use lots of the paper as card backgrounds but there still remains a heap of sheets with lovely designs... so I decided I should CUT THEM UP!!!  If you look closely you'll see these two were a corner design.. I trimmed them to fit my  6 x 4 cards and added a die cut shiny gold sentiment to one and the strip on the other is part of the header strip on a page from the pack.  I just noticed that Heidi at Watercooler Wednesday WWC#236 - "All About Occasions" Anything Goes challenge made a gorgeous cardinal card with DP background... I do like to put stamping on my cards but I'm happy today to be using these lovely papers.  I am also playing along with Rudolph Days August challenge.   Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it - happy to add to my Christmas stash.

From far away, a friendly light

Fathers' Day this weekend, so a masculine card this afternoon.  I love this stamp - used grey ink to stamp the image and pencil to colour it, then trimmed down to fit a tall navy card and framed it in red.  I am playing along with Watercooler Wednesday WWC235 - Marsha's Masculine "Anything Goes" challenge.  Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it. -  happy stamping

Christmas Wishes Tag

Time for making a couple of tags, my second one for Christmas... playing along with Jingle Belles Rock challenge - Tag, You're It.  I used a smooched and stenciled background from my stash - the blues and purples has silvery dots all over.  Then I strip of matching washi tape to ground my die cut Christmas tree, decorated with purple and silver gems.  To finish I stamped and silver embossed my sentiment and tied on some silver cord.  Thanks for visiting I really appreciate it - happy tag making.

Live Laugh Love Tag

Initially I thought I didn't have a flamingo in my stamp stash, but was happy to find this one in a tropical set in a magazine freebie - it also included my coconut cocktail - stamped these, coloured with pencils and fussy cut. I die cut the top of the base tag with part of a label die and founds some bright PP for the background.  Finished off with a stamped sentiment and twine.  I am playing along with TAG, You're It challenge #94 - Summer Splash.  Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it - happy tag making.

Wishing You a Very Happy Birthday

Earlier in the week I had fun with this solid butterfly stamp (here), I muffed the edge of this one so trimmed it down and framed it with brown card onto a bright matching yellow card base.  To finish I stamped on my sentiment in black.  I am playing along with Seize the Birthday with Toppings - Butterflies ....    and also to Virginia's - Show and Share event.
Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it - happy stamping.

Cherish Friendship

I sprayed this stencil piece at the beginning of the month and it has been waiting on my desk for some inspiration to finish it.  I used Perfect Pearls Mist and it gave a lovely shimmery finish, so I decided to team it with a silver metallic card and framed with creamy pearl metallic paper.  Next I die cut my sentiment three times with the top layer from the same silver as the card base, then glued them together for dimension... I finished with an extra stamped sentiment and two die cut butterflies.
I am posting to CAS Stencil August challenge - use Sprays with your Stencil.

Let it Snow

A little snowy scene through a window for my CAS Christmas August challenge card... showcasing GLITTER.   I die cut the window in my card front panel and used two thin strips of card to create the window panes, then backed this with clear cellophane for the glass.  I cut some snowy hills from white glitter card and placed two die cut trees behind.  From green card I die cut some pine branches, added some white Crystal Drops and sprinkled on lots of glitter, same for the trees and arranged these behind the window, added some smudged blue pencil for the sky and attached to a white card.  To finish I stamped and silver embossed the sentiment and added a two layer snowflake die cut  from glittery silver card.  I am also playing along with Happy Little Stampers August Christmas challenge - Anything Goes.

Happy Birthday

Well truly I just love all the flowers, but this month my favourite is the ORCHID... as I have one in bloom right beside my desk ....I picked some up in May, leftover from Mothers' Day with their flowers mostly spent and have three in my bathroom where they must be loving it because I've a five new sprouts from the two spikes in one post - yippee... I have six outside in the garden and always get a show from one - we call the Waterfall Orchid...
I stamped my image in grey ink and used pencils to watercolour it.  I cut a window in a square white card and backed it with pink card, then trimmed down my front panel to fit leaving just a small frame of pink.  To finish I added a die cut 'happy' in gold metallic card and a stamped and gold embossed 'birthday.
I am playing along with The Flower Challenge - #35 Use Your Favourite Flower  ...  Also adding to The Power Poppy Creative Confetti  - 1 Challenge, 3 Ways...  I'm inspired by my garden orchids and as I make a lot of cards I give them to my mum, who sells them for charity at her church.
Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it - happy stamping

Hugs for You

I haven't played along with Fusion Card Challenge for a while and yesterday checked it out and immediately my thought went to this bear stamp... everyone needs a HUG.  I used the title Family and the layout for my card.  Stamped the image in grey ink and watercoloured with pencils. Found this gorgeous heart PP in my stash and to finish combined my die cut with a stamped sentiment.  I am also playing along with Yes Virginia, Show and Share for August.

Fluttering by to Say...

Well my morning didn't go as I was imagining it, when I got out of bed....
hoping to go downstairs, into the garden with my first cup of tea and do a bit of watering.
So I made the cuppa and sat at my desk to check the overnight mail...
that was a mistake, didn't even check it,
instead a brainwave happened
I opened a stamp drawer to find a stamp because I had a mess of leftover Distress Ink on my plastic sheet and there I found this wood mounted butterfly, just the thing I needed for the
I lightly misted the stamp with water and smooched it in the inks and stamped on a scrap
I was rapt and moved into high gear,
smooching some mustard seed, spiced marmalade and gathered twigs on clear space
and here is the result

So pleased with the panel I cleaned up the yellow mess and repeated with cracked pistachio, mermaid lagoon and tea dye DI

In the process of stamping I did remember seeing AAA Cards CAS #147 were hosting an Along the Edge challenge.  I chose this co-ordination butterfly sentiment, which I thought was quite useful and you can stamp anything appropriate on the inside of the card.... Birthday, Thank You.
Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it..... and I'm off to spring clean and couple of cupboards with a smile on my face.... happy stamping
