Birthday Wishes

This week I've been thinking outside of the square - do you know how challenging it is to use snowflakes other than for a wintery card, well it took me some time...... I found this Brushos background panel and thought to just stamp different coloured snowflakes around and create a Birthday card. Then in matching card I used my Poppy die - Hip Birthday Wishes for the sentiment and finished off with two die cut snowflakes in place of the dots on the "I's"  I'm posting my card to Poppy Stamps January challenge - Silent Snowflakes and have also used the colours at Rubber Dance January challenge - Blue, Red and White. Thanks for taking a peek

With Best Wishes

Today my card is using the layout at CAS(E) this Sketch CTS#204 and the colour  theme at The Flower Challenge #4 - Blue and Yellow.  Of course flowers are my favourite stamps to use and I've embossed this one with grey ink and clear so it's a softer image and then painted it with Brushos. To finish I added a yellow back panel and stamped sentiment and a few tiny sequins.  Thanks for taking a peek

Happy Birthday

Oh I am enjoying being back at my desk after the Festive Season....so nice to relax with a paint brush and a stamped image....for this card I have experimented a bit with layers.... for the Happy Little Stampers Mixed Media challenge for January and as I have also been using my Twinkling H2Os to colour the image I am posting also to the Happy Little Stampers Watercolour challenge.  I used a Cherry Pie Dylusions Spray on a stencil and then used the negative with an extra mist of water to create this background....welllll it was way toooo bright so out came the white gesso and that's much better. Then I randomly stamped script over the  panel in grey Distress Ink when it was dry and layered this onto a pink panel. I used Twinkling H2Os to colour the stamped image and also stamped the sentiment and mounted these with 3D tape and to finish I added a small bow.  Thanks for taking a peek.

Have a Wonderful Birthday

For this card I combined two challenges.. Just Us Girls #376 and All Over Stamping and the lovely fresh colours - Blue, Red and White at Rubber Dance January challenge.  I love these fresh bright colours and chose to make a cheery birthday card as it's a bit hard to think of snow and ice over here in Australia when it's a tropical 32 degC and 95% humidity. I used the two colours on my white card and masked and stamping flowers randomly. Then I stamped a few and embossed them in clear to form a sentiment panel and attached both panels to a blue card.  I stamped and embossed the sentiment and layered in onto red card and set it at an angle to finish my card.  Thanks for taking a peek

Birthday Wishes

I used a Poinsettia stamp to make my card for the Winter Birthday theme at Simon Says Wednesday challenge.  And instead of watercolouring the bloom in the traditional red or pinks I chose to use a cream colour with a touch of green. I love how the red berries really 'pop' and then used some red, pale green and dark green layers to frame the card.  Finished off with a stamped sentiment and some white gel pen on the flower center and berry tips.  Thanks for taking a peek

Our Beautiful World - Bicycle

With the start of the new year I'm thinking that I should play along again at Our Beautiful World....I take so many photos or really they're just snapshots and so when I checked the theme for this week - Bicycles, I realised I had the just photo.... dearest grand daughter got a bicycle for Christmas - she was so eager to show me how she could ride it Christmas morning - has to make you smile.

Sending Birthday Hugs

Here's my second card using my Tulip stamp... the photo inspiration at Power Poppy - Power & Spark challenge inspired to use yellows and purples - I don't think tulips are winter flowers but I know that their little bulbs hidden in the cold soil are working their magic to present a beautiful display in Spring. I masked and stamped this border of flowers and watercoloured them with Brushos.  Then mounted the panel  with a lacy die-cut border which I backed with a purple layer to make it stand out and then finished the card with a sentiment.  Thanks for taking a peek

Happy Birthday

I'm back at last in 2017 to start afresh and this weekend I've had a lovely time making a few cards to begin my birthday collection.  My first card is in the mail so I'll post it in a few days when the recipient has received it. This year I've decided to tackle two cards at once with the same stamps... so I'm using my these stamped tulips to make a "Square" card for the Simon Says Monday challenge - Be Square. Also posting to Seize the Birthday challenge - Anything Goes. I watercoloured with Brushos and layered the image with diecuts to form a frame.  Thanks for taking a peek
