50th Birthday

  

Cheers everyone on this fine Friday here in Yeppoon.  My sister is celebrating her 50th next week and we're off tomorrow to visit and make this a special day for her.

My card layout is using the Cardabilities #75 sketch 

and the colours from CAS-colours and sketches#25.

On my blog cruising I noticed someone had made a beautiful butterfly by stamping on vellum so thought I'd give it a go too - I just used distress ink and layered it to give it a soft colour.

Oh boy my mojo's been asleep for a few days, isn't that what happens when you really have to make a card - I need two by this weekend as I will have little time to create over the next few weeks with my mum visiting and I just want to spend special time with her.

So from somewhere this card has appeared and I'm quite pleased with the effect of embossed vellum.

I've used the layout for CAS(E) this Sketch CTS#28 and the colours for Just Us Girls JUGS#189.  I've swiped Coral chalk over the raised vellum but it doesn't show too well in the photo.

Just a Note

SOS #101 - Scrap Attack

Great challenge from Shopping our Stash SOS#101 this week - challenging us to use up our scraps - I have a whole drawers full and always scrounging in them (sorted into colours and patterned) so it was hard to find some strips that suited each other and I decided to use the birdcage as a focus, so of course you need to add a little bird; I even found the border diecut and coloured it to suit .....

and so this card came to be....Thanks for taking a peek

Best Wishes

 

My  second card this afternoon is a "Best Wishes" card to add to my stash to fill my little boxes I'm making - I've used the layout at Freshly Made Sketches FMS86 

and the colours from Just Add Ink  JAI 166. I've also stamped my flowers on designer paper to fit with the challenge at CAS-ual Fridays CFC101  ...... I'm not sure about my colour combo but I do like the design.  Thanks for taking a peek

Day and Night

  

Afternoon visitors to my blog....today my card is based on the colours at Crazy 4 Challenges C4C185  -  lovely bright orange and grey... I thought I'd do a shell/beach card but look what I've ended up with something way different using a stamp I've had for a very long time - it's a wonder it isn't perished and gone hard, also some star brads and a moon embellishment so all that's crazy that I've been digging into my stash.... I've used the layout at RetroSketches rs#63 - I really like their simple lines and try to tackle them as often as possible....just made this post :-)

30th Birthday

Just made a 30th Birthday card for our son-in-laws birthday next week - I am totally inspired by Silke Ledlow and she has just posted a card I've used for my inspiration ...check it out here. And over at Dynamic Duos they are celebrating their One Year Anniversary DD#52 where you get to select any past colour combo - so I've chosen DD#14 Orange and Green.

SOS #100 Mother's Day or Pink

Laura here! Welcome back to Our Creative Corner - I am so happy to be bringing you the first challenge.....and it is.............

'Anything Goes'!

I had an idea early this year to box up my stash of cards (I make many more than I could possible give awayy - I suppose that means I'm ADDICTED) and give them as gifts and donate them to charity trading tables... so here's one of the container ideas I've finally finished off and I think is the easiest AND it only uses one sheet of 12x12 (so I'm planning to use up some of those coloured sheets that don't quite make into the card colour schemes).  Annabelle Stamps ac162, this week have an Anything Goes theme, so do Our Creative Corner and Shopping Our Stash SOS#100 have a 'Pink Theme' or Mothers' Day....I've made this little box for my mum and will be able to give it to her weekend after next when we get together for my sisters 50th.  If I want to do tag closers though I'll have to check I've got matching colours and try out other ideas to close the top (used velcro here)...this one was hard to match up. A Friend is a Treasure

  My second card today is dedicated to my new feathered friends - our neighbourhood Magpies.....here they are singing for their supper on our balcony rail, they're a delight visiting us twice a day.  I'm playing along with the 2 year/100 challenges celebration at CAS-ual Fridays CFC100 with their tic tac toe - polka dots, bling and black & white and the layout at Feeling Sketchy #58. Very Pink Birthday

Well it's great to be back....I had a week off this past week having had some visitors - dear friends Janice and Tony and what a lovely relaxing time and super to catch up...safe travelling friends.
So I'm back this afternoon in my crafty room making a very feminine birthday card using the Retro Sketches rs#62 layout and the soft colours at Crazy 4 Challenges....a quick no fuss card with an embossed panel to match the kraft/pale pink designer paper....no to build up my stash again as Janice got to take her pick for birthdays and thank yous.  Thanks for taking a peek
