Happy Birthday

Inspired-by-Stamping-July-BMorning crafty visitors - my card this morning started with the orange/yellow/green edge I made up with scraps from a die cut border I made a few weeks ago, then I found this flower in my pre-stamped drawer - I'm not real good at using a die around a stamped image but this one worked ok then I created the background paper with my distress inks. It's all come together pretty well but I could've embossed the green base card - too much flat green space. I made this card especially for the July Blog Hop at Inspired by Stamping

What's On Your Workdesk, Wednesday?

Happy Wednesday Morning all ye crafting people, from my desk here in Yeppoon.  Again the week has rolled by and it's time to share my space with others on the WOYWW blog (want to know more visit Julia here you'll be amazed how many busy desk there are about the world).

I have two work spaces this week - my desk where you'll see I'm in the midst of putting together a green floral card and deciding if the distress ink background paper I made last night should be the entire background or just a square section under the flower ...decisions, decisions ...just makes me chuckle that - spend more time deciding colours on a card than what's for dinner!!  Hubby is away again this week so I've had leftovers the last two nights, makes life easy :-)
I'm also pretty pleased with myself as I actually made my first Christmas cards, yippee.
And my second pic is of the dining table set up with my machine and a baby quilt cover I'm making for the new addition in Oct. I stitched up two fitted cot sheets yesterday morning and now tackling the edges of the quilt....lucky I didn't zoom along too fast yesterday as overnight I remember I need to fit in an opening for the quilt insert - maybe pics next week if all goes well.
So that's enough of me, hope you're all having fun at your place, cheers and thanks for taking a peek

Merry Christmas tree

Whoo hoo for me too - my first Christmas cards for the year and I'm way behind last year when by this stage I had all of mine made.  Great to start though, I love Christmas and it'll be extra special this year with a grand daughter to share with.  So my card is for the Merry Monday July challenge - anything goes. And I also had a heap of fun running with the Inspired by Stamping Whoo Hoo Wednesday technique WHW#111, Maskng with your background stamps -  well I was going to use a background stamp but ended up being inspired a bit by Bonnies card which is actually an embossed tree....so I dug out some lineal stamps and had a super time creating my trees with the triangle mask. Thanks for taking a peek
PS
Hazel also suggested I post my cards on her blog Christmas challenge CHNC for July

Green floral birthday

Happily I have a late afternoon card to post and after first seeing the colours at Dynamic Duos DD#63 I was thinking this had to be a male card but the DT girls made some lovely cards for inspiration so I went with a floral. I used the sketch for Annabelle Stamps ac168 and even mades some flowers from those very old paper ones from Kaisercraft and quite happy with them so I'll be making some more with the stash of different colours I have.  Thanks for taking a peek and hope you've had a great weekend.
PS the colours in the photo are a wee bit darker than my card

'Pretty' Birthday card

With some quiet time this afternoon I'm posting a 'pretty' birthday card I've made using the layout at Freshly Made Sketches #96. It was nice to work with some feminine colours and I like using pink and green together. Thanks for taking a peek

discover together

Thanks to my skyping friend Vikki for stirring the creative juices, I now have a second card today.  For the Fusion card challenge #14 I've played along with both the sketch and photo inspiration --- haven't used shells for a very long time so it's nice for a change. Also at CAS.ology the element is 'GOLD' so I've incorporated that on my card too; I created the background paper with distress inks, stamps and pearl mist and I versamarked the shells and dusted Interference Brilliant Gold all over...I'm happy. Thanks for taking a peek

Bouquets of Birthday Wishes

Well I'm struggling with my mojo this afternoon - sometimes even the simplest of layouts can be the hardest challenge!!  So my card is based on the CAS(E) this Sketch CTS#38 and the colours from the inspiration at Case Study #151.  Thanks for taking a peek and hope you're having a creative afternoon at your place

Time Flies

cfc110An early post for me this cool Saturday morning as I was able to mostly put this card together last night.....explanation!!  my hubby loves his football so he hogs the tv when there's a game on, even switching between channels for two matches something he hates me doing when I have the controls:-)  Anyway I was challenged by the CAS-ual Fridays CFC110 theme this week of 'Numbers' - and as I don't have any youngster to make number birthday cards for I had to search deep for stamps with numbers; I have quite a few clocks but only this one with numbers on the dial - but I'm quite happy with the result.  Thanks for taking a peek

Especially for You

Inspired-by-Stamping-July-B
A little mauve card for a birthday or friend from my desk this afternoon. I've used the layout from the Inspired by Stamping July Blog Hop  and incorporated some background paper with small polka dots to run with the theme at Annabelle stamps ac167.  At Papertake Weekly the challenge is to use a diecut or punch on you card - I cut a double scallop circle to create a frame and a white frilly one to mount the sentiment. Thanks for taking a peek

Welcome Little One

IBSIC60 I've been away for a week visiting with my daughter and we were busy making baby things and this included these baby shower invites....all cute and pink so they fit perfectly for the Inspiration challenge IBSIC#60 at Inspired by Stamping.  Thanks for taking a peek and hope you're having a great week

What's On Your Workbench, Wednesday

Hi there and good morning ... it's actually Thursday here but I figure it's Wednesday somewhere in the world so I'm posting anyway. So if you'd like to join in and share your space with others visit Julia's desk here to find out all about it.    I got back from visiting with our kids late yesterday and quickly took the pic as my desk is reasonably 'clear' - meaning space to work but it really highlights the little piles of bits I have collected 'for use soon'  :-)  Jacalyn and I had a lovely time, very busy making bits for the nursery - made sheer curtains, four fitted sheets and two sides to a quilt which I've bought home to finish - can you tell we went material shopping, just so happened that Lincraft were having a half price fabric sale, lucky us.  We also made invites for the baby shower - went round to friend Vikki's craft room on Saturday arvo and put these together - too cute and very pink so fingers crossed the ultrascan is correct!!   and great to catch up with my stamping buddy too.  I'm finding here this morning too that 720kms makes a lot of difference to the weather...bit fresh here today 7C overnight and a good breeze keeping the chill factor around so I'm make in a tracksuit and slippers.  Well...best go a check out a few other folks desks and do hope you're all happy and crafting at your place, cheers
PS  I must add -  there's been a few comments regarding the weather in UK being rather hot....I chuckle because 30C isn't so bad - here our summer temps are usually in high 30's +....it's the humidity that kills one here

IBSIC60Inspired-by-Stamping-July-B
Lucky for me friend Vikki was able to skype for a bit late this afternoon and lucky us our hubbys are cooking tea while we finish of our cards for the Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge #60  - made a lovely Pink, Black and White card  for their challenge and also managed to use the layout for their July Sketch Challenge but again I'm too early to post to that challenge. I'm very pleased with this card and even dug into the drawer with all those paper flowers I collected years ago.
Thanks for taking a peek

Delicate Heart

WHW #109–Embossing On Parchment

A delicate heart stamped and embossed with white on parchment for the Inspired by Stamping Whoo Hoo Wednesday challenge#109 - my parchment is yellowing a bit so mounting it on cream and then pink card has given me a lovely soft feel and grouping the ribbons and flowers with scattered pearls has finished off my card beautifully - I'm real happy with it.  Thanks for taking a peek

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday

WOYWW 215 click here to Join in ....you'll meet Julia and some lovely Deskers and you'll be amazed at the amount of craft work going on around the world...plucked that straight from Julia's post!!
Well it's Wednesday and I nearly forgot because I'm a wee bit excited as just this morning I've decided to pack my case and go visit our two kids in Townsville while hubby is away in Melbourne at a work conference -so I'm going to drive up immediately I drop him at the airport at 7am tomorrow.  It's special because our daughter is 6 months pregnant with our first grandchild and I'm missing being around while she and Andrew set up the nursery and buy all those cute baby bits.
First photo is looking in the door to my craft room ....mess all over, drawers with my pre-stamped bits and bags of ribbon on the floor and my two tower drawer sets near the window hold my stash of coloured card - bits in the left and full pages on the right - you can't see half of it :-)
On my desk I've just finished posting a card and three are part underway. On the very left a large envelope containing the tote bags and notelets I have ready for hubby to take down to my mum for her trading tables (explanation - trading tables assist with fund raising and members bring articles to donate to the table for others to purchase; some hospitals have patient assist groups who also have a tables of items for sale. And at the very edge a sample of pink paper and a teddy bear to go with me, as Jacalyn and I discuss ideas for her baby shower...exciting!!
Last week I was stating that I needed to get our tax stuff sorted - well I did and forntwo days papers spread over the lounge floor are now neat stacks but still need to find a few missing documents and await some that will arrive in the post...it's a start!!
Now to check out a few other desks while I enjoy lunch...thanks for taking a peek here
