  • watercoloured these with Distress Oxide and used white gel pen to add a few details
  • stamped the sentiment in spiced marmalade DO and clear emboss and trimmed the strip to fit
  • assembled the elements on a background from my stash - can see the subtle sparkle from a light spritz of Perfect Pearls Mist, and then used a cream card

A floral embossed round box

Back again today with my last floral embossed box

I have thoroughly enjoyed my guest designer spot, big thanks to Jo and Gail

Can you guess what I might have used to make this cute little round box???

I've been recycling again... this is the packaging from our seasonal ticket for our NRL team the Cowboys who are based in our city.
Had to piece the card together to get enough to form a round box - which will be ok for the inside.  Then I had to find something to cover the outside.....mmm

And why not a tissue box...
I had to really hunt through my embossing folders to find a leafy floral to decorate the lid of my box and luckily it was an A2 -  the Couture Creations - Ambrosia EF,  so I didn't have to run it through the Cuttlebug twice and maybe get that awful line.  I finished it off with a light swipe with Ocean Blue Distress Ink

Thanks for stopping by my blog  -  hope you may have been inspired to use your embossing folders and join in the Let's Squash It! challenge..   have a Wonderful Creative day,  cheers

Christmas - magical time of the year

More Celebrations with the CAS card challenge group with a 3rd Birthday at CAS Christmas, my congratulations and thanks for all the fabulous inspiration

Loll has hosted the theme this month
Colours - Kraft, Red and White

I created a little scene... using kraft coloured ink to stamp my reindeer and to water colour the Christmas sack of goodies that I stamped and fussy cut.  I die cut the sleigh in red and matt gold because you have to have something shiny on a Christmas sleigh and also another layer and glued them together to give some depth.  I took liberties and used stormy sky DO to very lightly add the snowy hill and shadows.  Then die cut the panel and stamped the sentiment in red and clear embossed.

Thanks for stopping by my blog ---  have a Wonderful Creative day

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Sentimentally Yours - Silhouette Scenes, Happy Little Stampers - Christmas Joy (sentiment)
Dies: Poppy Crafts stitched squares,   Simply Cards & Papercraft - Santa Claus is coming to town (sleigh)
Inks: Versafine Clair - tulip red, Distress Ink - brushed corduroy, Distress Oxide - stormy sky
Other: clear embossing powder

Embossed Easter Boxes

More projects for this months Let's Squash It!!  challenge #6

- Use your floral Embossing Folders with a Box.
I've made two carton boxes for the grand daughters for Easter... decorated the sides with a floral edge from the Embossing Folder - a Papercraft Essentials magazine freebie - Meadow Flowers
 and watercoloured the flowers.

Measured up, scored and cut out the  carton boxes in coloured card and some strips of white card for the sides.
The embossing folder was square,  so I position my strips of card to just capture the embossing along one edge, then softly blended green and blue over the strip and used my Distress Oxides to watercolour the flowers.

My second Box is one I saw on the net somewhere...it's an upside down cube...

I embossed the colourful purple and pink card from my stash with the Embossing Folder - Couture Creations - Crazy Daisy, then cut, scored and folded it to make a cube with out a lid... then repeated this using purple card.

Next I used an Spellbinders - Big Scalloped Circle die to cut openings in the four sides, then constructed the cube.... attached a loop of matching ribbon and slid one inside the other.

There is still time for you to join in the Squash It fun... so dig out you beloved Embossing Folders and Let's  see what you can create.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.... have a Wonderful Creative weekend

Best Wishes for Someone Special

Fun times at CAS Mix Up this month with celebrations for their 5th Birthday

and a super challenge from Bonnie
.....Die Cut Printing

Die cut my feather in thick card which helps with the ink, water and printing... and used Distress Oxides to 'smooch' ink the die cut  and then printed it a few times on the white card panel.  Then die cut another feather in white card and smooched it in the leftover ink... the indents on the die cut add some detail interest.  I added a stamped and silver embossed sentiment and then a scored frame and lastly some grey ink splatters and a few shiny silver gel pen dots (which you can't see- looks nice though as it matches with the silver sentiment).  Arranging the elements I thought the 'print' die cut looked ok so included it too.

Thanks for stopping by and a big congrats to the CAS Mix Up team on their 5 years of fabulous inspiration ... cheers

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Stampavie Stamps - Sentiments 2
Dies: Feather embossing die - Hot Off the Press
Inks:  Versmark, Distress Oxide - speckled egg, hickory smoke
Other:  silver embossing powder, glitter silver gel pen

Two Daisy Cards

The Twofer Card Challenge for March is Open to Your Choice.. so I have chosen  Daisy die cuts

My first card I used the die cut printing technique they are challenging over at CAS Mix Up March Watercolour challenge.... only for me I used Versamark and white embossed the prints on a green smooched background from my stash - then die cut another in white card and to match the white I also white embossed the flower and then used green embossing pen and clear EP on the stem....I added yellow embossing pen to the flower centre and embossed it too.  To finish I stamped and silver embossed the sentiment and counted with foam tape.

For my second card I die cut 5 daisies and watercoloured the centres with Distress Ink and trimmed off the stems.  I stamped my lady in a hat image in black and watercoloured with DI.  Then arranged the elements on a red card and added a purple border to the stamped panel

I really like both card, and the second I left with the stamps' sentiment thinking you could add any occasion sentiment inside
So happy you popped over to my blog - have a Wonderful Creative weekend.

Christmas - Watercolour Die Cut Prints

The Design Team at CAS Mix Up Card Challenge are celebrating their 5th Birthday this month... a Big Congratulations from me, I so enjoy their challenges and wonderful DT inspiration.

This month the challenge is to use watercolours with  die cut printing, so for a change rather than my favourite flowers I've chosen a textured fir tree die to make Christmas cards... yes I've a Twofer - in the process I had made a not very CAS panel so cut it in half...

A die cut the tree ( two different sizes of the three in the set) in thick shiny card (recycled packaging) which gave me a stronger die cut to ink and wet.  Cut a mask to create the snow slope and smooched two shades of green DO and one dark blue on my plastic sheet and then lightly spritzed the die cuts, smooched them in the inks and "stamped" over the mask - the indents on the die cuts left some areas white so it looks like snow.  I die cut a single tree from watercolour card and used the left over smooch ink to watercolour it.  Watercoloured in the blue sky and shadows with a brush.  To finish I mounted the panel with foam sheet to a die cut layer and stamped and silver embossed the sentiment and attached the tree with foam dots.

For my second card... I repeated the process to create the scene, stamped and clear embossed the sentiment, added a die cut frame and attached the tree with foam dots.
