Cover Die Eclipse technique with Group of Seven Cardmakers

This morning when I checked to see what inspiring technique the girls at
Group of Seven Cardmakers were up to this month... I immediately thought I'm loving this and even though I'm supposed to be getting ready for the granddaughters sleepover I found myself searching through my patterned papers.  I don't really have a plain cover die either but I do have a couple of fiddly floral ones... here's the result.  It was fun and I did make a white cut which I realize now maybe could have been yellow so my badly lined up glueing wouldn't show as much, and there was a lot of little bit to glue down... I'll be doing it again!!

Thanks for stopping by my blog..
have a wonderful weekend

Christmas card... only my second for the year

One last card for the month... there'll be no time for card making or crochet over the Easter weekend... as we have our two granddaughters come to stay.

So a Christmas card .... is for the Rudolph Days March challenge... there really needs to be some more Christmas cards happening here that's for sure.

I was inspired by Loll at the Group of Seven Cardmakers  with their Masked Stenciling technique.. to try using a shadow die set.. this Christmas one has that extra outline die... so I used it to cut a mask, then blended (not very well) green Distress Oxide over a white card panel and then add the Poinsettia stencil over the top and blended the colours the flowers and holly, then die cut the sentiment in shiny red metallic to add to the masked area - hope you can follow all that waffling.

And here's my latest crochet project finished.... Sweet Dreams baby blanket... and our cat Watson on his scratchy couch.   Thanks for stopping by my blog, have a Wonderful Easter, cheers Robyn

Good feeling to be back making some Cards

Thanks to a blogging friend Darnell - and her wonderful IDEAS prompt... I'm happy to be creating cards again.... this week is A for Anything Goes

My first card features soft blue and cream patterned paper as my background... as the panel was a little narrow for the card I added a matching smooched strip to one edge and used the other remnant for my sentiment. I watercoloured some die cut flowers (Sizzix - Small tattered floral) and added some white die cut foliage and a few blue pearls to finish.   I am joining in the challenge -- The Colour Hues Challenge #TCH83 : Cream & Blue
Honored to have my card mentioned in the Top Few...

My second card today is for the Beautiful Blossoms challenge #15 using the Mood board as inspiration ... lot so yellow.   Again I've used some patterned paper, stamped, watercoloured and fussy cut some flowers and leaves (Altenew - Modern Anemone) and attached them over the florals on the paper trimming the edges where they overlapped... finished with a stamped sentiment.

Birthday Cards

Seems I'm in a purple mood today with two embossed cards ... really I'm rather tired as I spent a few hours in the garden this morning; repotting and deleafing mango leaves that just smother the plants.

But I have been truly inspired by Darnell's IDEAS prompt.. so I'm back again this week using more Embossing Folders

My first card featured an embossed background (unknown), lightly smooched edges. A stitched die cut rectangle (cut from matt metallic perfume packaging) for a window effect, with die cut flowers (Sizzix - Wildflower Stems #1) watercoloured with Distress Inks and added some tiny purple micro beads.  Finished with a stamped sentiment... the photo doesn't show the sparkles.  I'm joining in the Seize the Birthday challenge #279 - Anything Goes.

For my second card I embossed a smooched background from my stash (Cuttlebug - Victoria) then swipped with Versamark and white embossing powder.  Stamped my sentiment (Inspired by Stamping - Aster set) on a die cut stitched rectangle and added a single stamped flower to finish.  I am playing along with Word Power challenge #3

Twofer Floral Cards

Since last week I've had some more inspiration to use my Dies... and today I've two cards to share with you ..... I might also mention here that I'm following and being inspired by Darnell's IDEAS prompt and this week it is Embossing Folders

Another lovely floral square card for The Flower Challenge #89...

using a very old Spellbinders scalloped circle die that I also die cut out the center to create a frame... teamed with a lovely patterned paper background.  Then watercolour with Distress Inks a daisy (Sizzix - Wildflower stems) and foliage (Sizzix - Delicate leaves)
I'm also joining in with the challenge at Shopping Our Stash SOS517 - Round and Round

Second card is for the March Can You Handle the Pressure challenge

First die cut an oval in teal coloured card and then dry embossed with Kaisercraft Liberty EF -  backed this with some lighter coloured card.  Watercoloured with Distress Inks... some die cut flowers/stems from Sizzix Wildflower stems and arranged them through the oval opening.

Butterflies and Florals

Well I am enjoying being back making cards... and there's all sorts of them too

This butterfly one is from a gorgeous book of cards and envelopes gifted to me and then I've coloured this one with colouring pencils..

I'm joining in the March Triple B challenge

I've been at the Cuttlebug again cutting out dies  --- as prompted by Darnell's IDEAS.
Watercoloured the flowers on this Kaisercraft Posy Circle die cut, using Distress Inks and used an embossing pen to add silver embossing to the circles.  Added some layereing with patterned paper and a stamped silver embossed sentiment to finish.

This last card is made totally with Die Cuts prompted by Darnell's IDEAS week 2 Die Cuts...... Sizzix Mixed Media for background over a smooshed background from my stash.  Kaisercraft Vine leaves and an unknown Vase.... finished with sentiment CUTplorations - Everyday Sentiments

Birthday Cards

Second Monday and it's time for some Die Cuts... as per Darnell's IDEAS prompt ---  so I've had some fun with the Cut Out Leaves dies (Sizzix)... had to hand cut around the leaves to have them stand along.

For the first card I inked up the leaves with Distress Inks then used the same colours to paint a leaf shape on my card front panel.. decided to add some sparkle after I'd stamped the sentiment in Silver EP, so added a little EP to the bottoms of the leaves too

With the second card I used coloured EP... mistletoe green and fir tree (Sizzix) on the leaves, that blended well with the smoochy background from my stash.  Added some more die cut leaves (Sizzix Winter Woodland) from shiny green card and finished with a cluster of green pearls and stamped sentiment.

A Trio of Cards...

Very happy to report I've been playing with my colours this weekend...  inspired by Darnell's IDEAS prompt... and have finished off and made a few cards, with more in my WIP (works in progress) pile.

First this cute little bird has been coloured for some time only needed a sentiment... so a bright happy shiny red die cut Birthday Wishes it is.

Next I created this Christmas card with a 'green' theme using stamped and die cut foliage coloured with Distress Inks and finished a gold embossed sentiment.

And another card just needing some final touches... stamped and watercoloured with Distress Inks and finished with a double layer die cut sentiment.

I love florals so it's just right for the Double 'D' March challenge - First Signs of Spring

Thanks for stopping by my blog... have a wonderful weekend

Masked Stenciling

Hoping this card is the start of my "refresh"...  and I'm joining in the prompt this month from

Group of Seven Cardmakers - Masked Stenciling

I used a very old Spellbinders die.. large scalloped circle to create a mask and then blended Distess Inks over a STAMPlorations mask - Flowers 1.

BUT first of all I'm using Darnells "I.D.E.A.S." prompt to start my cardmaking refresh, again..... so it's Inks/Colour Medium this week.

Thanks so much for stopping by.... I hope I'm back real soon
Hugs and have a marvellous day

Card making is not a dying Art, neither is Crochet

Well after receiving some very welcome visits and comments from my bloggy friends...which I'm sad to say has been and very lacking thing on my part, I was very happy to discover that Darnell has been inspiring us again with her acronyms... to help us through those times when we're wondering if we should just pass on all our stamping/card making stuff - I don't want to!!  So her New Years inspiration is "I.D.E.A.S" --- and if you're interested pop over to her blog here.

My post today may not be Inks... rather it's colouring pencils which I have been using this past week on some lovely pre-made cards, from a Colouring Book that contains double sided cards and envelopes to colour... see in my blurring photo Darnells IDEAS printed off and stuck right there in front so I'm inspired.

And quite the opposite in weather to the other sides of the world... we're in Summer or rather it's supposed to have changed to Autumn but it's still awfully hot and humid and if I look out my craft area windows... one the sky is blue and white fluffy clouds - the other is grey rainy looking clouds so we maybe in for an afternoon downpour again.... so my lovely garden is looking too sad and badly needs some loving - it'll have to wait..  BUT in the meantime my crochet hook has been busy - trying my hand at flowers and have decorated last years March calendar page with some of them.

and I also made a sign for our Crochet Group Display in the local Library Cabinet

Here's what our amazing group members have been up to .... huge array and variety of crochet..  it's not a dying art..  thank goodness.

Thanks awfully for visiting and do so appreciate it
Have a fabulous day
Hugs Robyn
