Thinking of You.....

Hi and how has February been at your place... creative hopefully..  I have been sharing my time with crochet and cards and our cat - Watson, who unfortunately was attacked by dogs and has had his rear leg removed... happy to report though, he has made an amazing recovery and now hopping about on his three legs...

My first card is for the Color Hues challenge TCH#58 - Lime Green and Cyan

This gorgeous piece from my stash - using Alcohol Inks on photographic paper was perfect.  Just added some black die cut leaves (Sizzix - Delicate Leaves and a sentiment (Happy Little Stampers - Dandelion Wishes), stamped in black and clear embossed.
My second card is adding to my growing Christmas stash - for the Peace on Earth challenge #34 inspired by the Mood Board ..  I've used the red and white colours with a touch of green

I dry embossed white card with a lovely EF from Chloe's Creative Cards, then again with white card and again with red and fussy cut the two main flowers and layered them over the base card.  Watercoloured the leaves, added some red marker and clear Crystal Drops to the berries and white Crystal Drops to the flower centres.
My final card is for the Christmas Stash builder challenge - Rudolph Days for February
I used this Embossing Folder (Sizzix - 3D Retro Ornaments) recently and love the results, so with this one I added glitter glue to the sanded raised areas

Thanks for popping over to my blog...  have a Wonderful Day,   Cheers Robyn

Christmas and Birthday Cards

Hope you're enjoying your weekend...  thankfully it's been a bit cooler and less humid  here with some rain about...  so that's nice to spend some time at my desk finishing off some cards

Lets start my post today with a TWOFER- Christmas cards...  I used white core card  with 3D Sizzix Retro Ornaments EF , so I could lightly sand the raised areas.  Die cut the sentiments 3 times and glued together to added depth to them.   Playing along at Christmas Kickstart challenge #71 - Baubles

For my second - a Birthday card for the Double 'D' challenge - BIRDS .....  I have taken liberty and used Feathers
Die cut my feathers (unknown) and smooched them in a puddle of Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide.... and teamed these with some die cut foliage - Sizzix Delicate Leaves and layered them over a circle of coral card.  I used an embossed background (unknown) and stamped sentiment (Happy Little Stampers - Fun Birthday Sentiments) to finish the card

At Seize the Birthday challenge #255 -- the challenge is to Use Your Initials as a prompt for inspiration... hence R for Robyn and RED ROSES.   Just Us Girls challenge #667 - has a Mood board featuring Roses too, so I am playing along with them too.   Stamped the Roses and Leaves (Kaisercraft- Rosabella) and watercoloured them with Distress Inks, added some depth with coloured pencils and fussy cut them out.  Embossed the background with magazine freebie EF and arranged the florals with a die cut leaf (Sizzix - Delicate Leaves) and finished with a stamped and gold embossed sentiment (Stampin' Up - Happy Birthday to You.

Thanks for stopping by my blog... have a fabulous day, Cheers Robyn

Some friends and I are learning to do some Tunisian Crochet - using a rather long hook and it's quite different to 'normal' crochet...  here are my first four squares

January Card Chain Challenge Reveal

Time for the first CCC reveal for 2023...  my card crossed the seas to Helen in the USA

My card for Helen is an Easel Card, inspired by the Layout and also features the colours of the Palette.
Made my square easel card with pale pink paper stamped with script on the bottom half and sentiment stamped and embossed on the top.  Used Distress Inks to ink the floral (Penny Black Garden Gems), then fussy cut it out, and arranged on the card with some white die cut foliage.  For the stopper I stamped sentiment on die cut label with some extra floral elements.

Thanks for stopping by my blog... have a Wonderful Day,   Cheers Robyn

A New Technique Blog and a Birthday Card

Some dear Blogger Friends have started a blog to share their talents, so we can be inspired to try some things out of the ordinary...  Group of Seven Cardmakers .... why not pop over and check out their cards

For January, the girls are sharing cards they made using different applications and mixes of Embossing Powders  --  Creative Heat Embossed Backgrounds

Here's what I played around with...
  • on photographic paper I swiped Twisted Citron Distress Oxide and when it was dry, wiped the surface with a baby wipe to bring up the bright colour
  • then I pounced with Versamark randomly using bubble wrap and used Sizzix Fir Tree (green) embossing powder and heat set
  • then I repeated this using white embossing powder
  • lastly with Versamark and Kaisercraft Marble stamp - stamped and silver embossed more texture
There was enough lovely background to make two cards...
which I finished off with some Die Cuts (Sizzix) and stamped embossed sentiments

Using the embossing folder - Elegant Occasions (a magazine freebie) - embossed white square card.  Stamped and silver embossed the sentiment and finished with a die cut spray - Intricate Crocus from Card Making Magic - cut from light purple card and coloured with pencils and Distress Ink

Thanks for stopping by my blog,  have a wonderful day
Cheers Robyn

A few more cards as we approach the end of January - where did the month go?

Enjoying my weekend, how about you?   and thanks for stopping by my blog.

Today I finished off 3 cards I started during the week...

My first card is a floral birthday card using the colour palette for the Color Throwdown challenge -ctd727....  mustard, pink & green
I stamped and silver embossed the Inspired by Stamping Tulip Bouquet and watercoloured with Distress Inks.  Stamped and silver embossed the sentiment and layered to a white card with mustard frame.

My second is also a Birthday card... for the CAS challenge at Just Us Girls #664 - Birthday.       This stamped floral is from my stash... stamped in grey and watercoloured with Distress Inks.  Stamped the sentiment from Hero Arts with grey ink and clear embossed and attached the panel to a pink card.

My last is a White on White Christmas card for the  AAA Cards Challenge #232    I used a new Embossing Folder (Chloes Creative Cards), embossed on white card and then fussy cut... the sentiment is part of the EF too.
Have a fabulous day, Cheers Robyn

Two Cards Today to Share...

Hi, and how's your week been?    I've had a card making time and also crochet

Today I have a card for Just Us Girls challenge #663 - with a Moodboard for inspiration...

A Birthday card... Die cut the sentiment letters and ran through the Cuttlebug with a swiss dots EF.  Watercoloured the die cut daisy (Sizzix - Wildflower stems #1) with Distress Inks, added some micro beads and painted on a little shimmer of sparkle
My second is a Christmas Card for the Rudolph Days Christmas Card January challenge

From my stash I found this silver embossed Poinsettia flower already coloured, so I fussy cut and teamed it with a die cut foliage from a new set (Kaisercraft - Flora Branches). Stamped and silver embossed the sentiment on some matching patterned paper.
I'm also adding my card to the NBUS challenge #46

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day and enjoy your weekend,   Cheers Robyn

My Favourites.....

Today I'm joining in with the first challenge of the year at ..

with the challenge to share Your Favourite..

Now that's a very difficult question with so many things I love about creating cards..
Mostly I suppose it's the joy of making them --  the process that goes into selecting an image (stamped &/or embossed), then the colours and what techniques might be involved... I enjoy it all

So I decided to select a few cards from the past to share..
An Easel card (fancy folds), combined with stamped and pencil coloured image then fussy cut, added die cuts and a sentiment too.

I enjoy creating other things besides cards too
Here's a folded box and lid decorated with dry embossing... and lightly sanded to bring out the pattern

I truly love to just colour images
This is a shadow stamp, stamped with a light coloured ink and watercoloured with Distress Inks and depth added with coloured pencils

And throughout the year I make Christmas cards, to share with family and friends.

Lastly this week I made this card combining a number of techniques:
watercoloured die cut image
embossed background
die cut round opening in the background card
finished with a stamped and white embossed sentiment

Thanks for stopping by my blog
Have a wonderful and creative week
Cheers Robyn

Beautiful Flowers

Hello and welcome to my blog...
Did you know there's a new Challenge out there, right up my alley because I love flowers...

And Challenge #1, this month there is a beautiful blue and brown moodboard for inspiration.     I have repurposed a box ...  my son get these wonderful sturdy boxes with a lid and I just can't toss them out. So I hunted through my stash of 12x12 patterned paper and found this blue piece with brown flocking on it.

Then I die cut some leaves and flowers (mostly from Sizzix), teamed them with some store bought flowers and added some glitter glue and white dots... I've not made a mixed media items for a long time and I have enjoyed it.
Thanks for stopping by, have a lovely weekend,    Cheers Robyn
