Believe in Miracles Tag
Hi and once again I'm on the last day of the month making my tag for Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2014 challenge...why I do this I don't know and especially for this month as I love the bright colours and butterfly theme he used. Again I have also put mine together with stamps and stencils I have on hand and have once again enjoyed stepping out of my comfort zone to try his techniques. Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Our Beautiful World
June 30 and it is time to celebrate!!!!
Our Beautiful World
has been sharing beautiful photos for
1 YEAR
So to celebrate Kirsty is sponsoring a prize package to be randomly drawn from everyone
who posts a baby photo.
There is also be a blog hop running for two weeks so make sure you visit each team member
and leave a comment. There will be more random prizes available from each team member so join in the fun.
You should have arrived at my blog from Manuela and after you've left me a comment
go back to the Our Beautiful World blog and leave a comment there to be in the running.
My photo is 60 years old and I'm so pleased my mum allowed me to keep it from her collection...I'm not quite one in this sepia - a slightly 'touched up' professional photo with ever so soft pink cheeks and lips.
It's great to have these lovely reminders.
We would love to see your baby photos,
so please pop over to Our Beautiful Worlds blog and join in the fun.

Friday Smiles....week 75
First time for me to Share a Smile with you on a Friday (really it's Saturday here in Australia but never mind.
The story behind my newspaper advertisement .....isMy In-Laws have just celebrated 64 years of marriage and the local newspaper saw their wedding anniversary notice and asked if they could run a story. So my S-I-L contacted me as they needed the wedding photo (another long story) , so I carefully removed it from the very old and damaged frame, scanned it and sent it off. Then curious to know how they framed the photo I noticed it was padded with old newspapers dated 18 June 1953. I haven't read through many but this one caught my eye
Bill and Joyce Oliver - he'll be 90 next month and she's 88.
Hope you're enjoying your weekend, Cheers Robyn

What's On Your Workdesk, Wednesday?
Hi there once again with a view of my desk for WOYWW Week 264... want to find out more please pop over to our hostess Julia for more details and why not join in the fun
Today I'm showing my room as it was when I walked in this morning.....papers everywhere - side desk and main desk. It's just a mess. I'm trying to select some coordinating colours to make a mini album; based loosely on the orange/green one on my desk, as a give away. You can see on the left my very old passed down from our son, tablet on which I have lots of family tree data and have been updating and adding a few more folk on Monday, it along with my heat gun and cuttlebug are hidden under the paper stacks.
Then on my main desk the paper sorting continues and in the close up you can see two gorgeous ATCs from Jo (Twiglet) and Annie (Wipso).
And look at my drawer set, it has become a card holder - I really need to string some thread up to hang all my cards on as I hate putting them away out of sight. Can you also see that little black and white photo on the left shelf....me celebrating my first birthday. We're posting baby photos for the next (Sunday) Our Beautiful World share to celebrate the first year of the blog.
Now you can see I did have to have a clean up before I started on my mini album layouts (see below) and you will also note that just now I received another ATC, via the snail mail from Anne at Copper Beech Crafts along with a lovely card and some goodies.
Thanks for taking a peek at my desk - now I'll post and be off to check out what the other WOYWW's have been up to. Cheers Robyn

Our Beautiful World
MAILS
a word prompt from our friend Kirsty
At our house we get all sorts of mail, too much junk mail though
Sadly this is our present letterbox...on a lean and all - actually we're renting and the box that was there was bent and the lid didn't close so we bought the cheapest one a the hardware shop so our mail wouldn't get wet in the rain. But it still delivers the mail 5 days a week and I'm always eager to see what the mailman has dropped off for us....here's some of what I might find......
My special stamping buddy Vikki and I make and send each other a card every month
I cut of the stamps as my mum collects them to be recycled through Sammy Stamps run by the Uniting Church, Australia
My mum and I exchange letters each month even though we talk sometimes on the phone.
OOWWW a package of goodies ordered on-line
I play along with a card swap and this is my card from Loly, USA for the month of May swap
Very welcome overseas mail
Redirected Mail
Catalogues and junk mail
The dreaded window envelopes - usually contain bills
Now I'd like to share with you a scan of a postcard sent to my husbands grandfather,
29 July 1957 Mr F King from his daughter Winnie
Quite often soldiers sent postcard photos of themselves to their family and I do have some but at present can't seen to find them...they mostly don't say too much but the mail was and still is a wonderful way to keep it touch.
Our team has some great photos so please drop by and check them out
Kirsty - Handmade Little Things
Ros - Mikey's mum
Mialgros - Paper Boutique Scrapbooking Studio
Manuela - elasdistrict
and if you would like to join in the fun, and share your photos
please pop over to Our Beautiful Worlds blog

Sweet Birthday Wishes to You
My last card for the afternoon - I'm playing along at Inspired by Stamping June IBSIC83, using the Sketch and Colours for inspiration....love these colours. My poppy stamp is from Chocolate Baroque and the sentiment from IBS - A lovely birthday set. The background paper had all the lovely colours for the challenge and I water painted the flower after first inking it with two colours and embossing with clear. I am also posting my card to Seize the Birthday challenge - Anything Goes.
Thanks for taking a peek Robyn
Summer
Fun in the Sun Card Challenge....at Cards in Envy
This afternoon thanks for friend Vikki I am playing along for the first time at Cards in Envy, where they have a 'summer' theme.
I made the bright summery background with distress inks and dug this summer fun guy out of my pre-stamped drawer, water coloured him also with the distress inks and stamped a little 'summer' definition sentiment. Thanks for taking a peek Robyn
Happy Birthday
Happily today my friend Vikki is skyping and we're making cards together...I've chosen to make a card using the layout at Retro Sketches rs#119 and the palette at Colour Me - CMCC#25. These are such pretty colours and so me :-) Just added a decorative label and a floral ribbon spray to finish the card.

Time to Celebrate
Morning fellow card makers, today I'm posting a card for the City Crafters week 216 challenge...."FRUIT" with this yummy photo for inspiration.I am also going to play along with Darnell and her NBUS #1 challenge -'never before used schtuff'..which applies to this Flourishes stamp and at CASology where they are "Celebrating" week 100.....so congratulations to the team, whoopee and have a glass of cheer!!
I've water coloured the image with my distress inks, popped an old button on the corner and a fitting sentiment....Don't we all love fruit...some which has be converted into a lovely RED :-) Although those are figs in the jug and I've never heard of fig wine!!

Wishing you a Merry Christmas
Four Christmas cards from me today for the Festive Friday inspirational photo challenge FFC#33
I decided to again use the 12x12 vintage Christmas card stack and cut up some more of their gorgeous old fashioned pictures to use on the cards. I did very minimal background stamping on the left and bottom card and used the sentiment from the sheets as well as the font suits the old prints.

What's On Your Workdesk, Wednesday?
Lovely to see Julia back at her desk for this weeks WOYWW #263, if you're visiting and wondering what this is all about please pop over to Julias blog and read all about it and maybe join in the desk snooping fun.
My desk today is much the same, not too many pre-thinking about cards in my pile on the very left under my 'green scraps' drawer. In the middle you will see that I am working on three Christmas cards for the Festive Fridays photo inspiration on my laptop as I see a snow sledge theme and have cut up my vintage 12x12s to make some more cards with very little stamping on them....can't resist using this great designer cardstock. Also a Santa face card...all waiting to be glued together.
I have a card propped in the blue drawer from a very dear stamping friend, next to that a card I've made to send to the Card Chain Challenge recipent.
Otherwise here in Queensland it is winter and we have been having some cooool evenings and mornings 10-12C (mid 50sF), the days are lovely and sunny, blue skies but fresh breezes - and I have my warm clothes on and slippers..
Thanks to everyone who visited last week, much appreciated and now I'm off the desk hop some before I get dinner for myself... :-( hubby's away all week.
