Thinking of You

My card today is in celebration of Darnell's 5 Years of Blogging - this lady is just extraordinary and I admire her greatly - never met but I can sense that she is a kind, helpful and giving person...she encourages us all in card making land to not forget those items we buy and to dig them out and use them - it certainly has encouraged me.  She always makes time to drop by other bloggers sites and leave wonderful comments,,,,, THANK YOU DARNELL - You're a Gem and Congratulations.

To celebrate she is hosting one of her famous NBUS challenges (#8) and this time has added a few options.... this week along with using our Never Before Used Stuff we can use our coloured pencils of kraft coloured card.
I stamped my NBUS lilies with Distress Ink and used my very old Derwents to colour them in.... lot of fun and I did enjoy myself. Then I used some coordinating colour layers to frame my image and added a stamped sentiment.  Thanks for taking a peek

Happy Birthday

A while back I tried my hand at some watercolouring with my Twinkling H2Os and created this water/sunset scene.... stamped on the trees and lilypads (it's all one stamp) and it has just sat in my UFO stash.  I added a couple of champagne glasses die cut in black to create a silhouette effect and just added a stamped sentiment. Today I decided to play along with two challenges using watercolours and a colour palette ...  CAS Mix Up January challenge -  to use stamps, liquid colours (here I figure H2Os are ok as they are not use if you don't wet them) and your choice (die cut glasses) and with Happy Little Stampers Watercolour challenge - Anything Goes, also I've chosen the colours from the inspiration photo at Addicted to Stamps and More #225. Thanks for taking a peek

Birthday Wishes

This week I've been thinking outside of the square - do you know how challenging it is to use snowflakes other than for a wintery card, well it took me some time...... I found this Brushos background panel and thought to just stamp different coloured snowflakes around and create a Birthday card. Then in matching card I used my Poppy die - Hip Birthday Wishes for the sentiment and finished off with two die cut snowflakes in place of the dots on the "I's"  I'm posting my card to Poppy Stamps January challenge - Silent Snowflakes and have also used the colours at Rubber Dance January challenge - Blue, Red and White. With Best Wishes

Today my card is using the layout at CAS(E) this Sketch CTS#204 and the colour  theme at The Flower Challenge #4 - Blue and Yellow.  Of course flowers are my favourite stamps to use and I've embossed this one with grey ink and clear so it's a softer image and then painted it with Brushos. To finish I added a yellow back panel and stamped sentiment and a few tiny sequins.  Thanks for taking a peek

Happy Birthday

Oh I am enjoying being back at my desk after the Festive Season....so nice to relax with a paint brush and a stamped image....for this card I have experimented a bit with layers.... for the Happy Little Stampers Mixed Media challenge for January and as I have also been using my Twinkling H2Os to colour the image I am posting also to the Happy Little Stampers Watercolour challenge.  I used a Cherry Pie Dylusions Spray on a stencil and then used the negative with an extra mist of water to create this background....welllll it was way toooo bright so out came the white gesso and that's much better. Then I randomly stamped script over the  panel in grey Distress Ink when it was dry and layered this onto a pink panel. I used Twinkling H2Os to colour the stamped image and also stamped the sentiment and mounted these with 3D tape and to finish I added a small bow.  Thanks for taking a peek.

Have a Wonderful Birthday

For this card I combined two challenges.. Just Us Girls #376 and All Over Stamping and the lovely fresh colours - Blue, Red and White at Rubber Dance January challenge.  I love these fresh bright colours and chose to make a cheery birthday card as it's a bit hard to think of snow and ice over here in Australia when it's a tropical 32 degC and 95% humidity. I used the two colours on my white card and masked and stamping flowers randomly. Then I stamped a few and embossed them in clear to form a sentiment panel and attached both panels to a blue card.  I stamped and embossed the sentiment and layered in onto red card and set it at an angle to finish my card.  Thanks for taking a peek

Birthday Wishes

I used a Poinsettia stamp to make my card for the Winter Birthday theme at Simon Says Wednesday challenge.  And instead of watercolouring the bloom in the traditional red or pinks I chose to use a cream colour with a touch of green. I love how the red berries really 'pop' and then used some red, pale green and dark green layers to frame the card.  Finished off with a stamped sentiment and some white gel pen on the flower center and berry tips.  Thanks for taking a peek
