Just for You

My card today is for the layout challenge at Try Stamping on Tuesday #206.
I created the center panel using white embossing powder with a flourish stamp, then brayered Distress Ink over the top and polished off the excess ink - my white EP isn't very white I see. Then I stamped the Inspired by Stamping sentiment from Small Fancy Labels 1 on a die cut label and mounted it on a fancy die cut, over a ribbon strip, and finished the card with three fancy die cuts with gem centers.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

At a recent car display we visited this dear old car stood out with it's lovely red colour and big spoke wheels

Arrows indicate cities and mileage
Black arrow San Francisco - 7910 miles

Green arrow  London - 8740 miles
Blue arrow Singapore - 2090 miles
Brown arrow Sydney - 2990 miles

Our Beautiful World

This week 84 at Our Beautiful World the prompt word has been suggested by myself...
from the William Shakespeare drama Romeo and Juliet -
What light through yonder window break?
I first imaged I could find/take a photo of sunrays through a window, a cat bathing in the sunlight through a window, or a lovely romantic Romeo and Juliet scene,  but that wasn't to be.....so here are my photos
Kinnoull Hill and ruins of a foll, with it's bare window overlooking the River Tay, Perth, Scotland.
Built in 1829 by Lord Grey of Kinfauns as a romantic folly, the tower was originally used as an observatory by Grey and are meant to resemble the castles on the Rhine in Germany.
These are the stained glass windows at Leonardo da Vinci's tomb in the Chapel of Saint-Hubert, adjoining the Chateau d'Amoise, France
Amazing coloured glass skylight  to the  Souk Arcade -
Khan Murjan - Wafi City Mall, Dubai
This is a lovely window view in the blue bedroom at Chateau Cheverny, France
Thanks for taking a peek at my photos, now please pop over to the Our Beautiful World Blog and visit the other team members to see there lovely photos.

With all my Love

Today I am stamping with my friend Vikki in her fabulous craft room as we are visiting in Townsville for the next two weeks.
My card to day is loaded with hearts as it is Valentines Day...so best wishes everyone. I've used the sketch at Try Stampin' on Tuesdays #205 for my layout and with all the hearts I'm posting to Inspired by Stamping IBSIC#90 - Hearts and Just Add Ink #250.  I used a die cut heart to make the mini envelope and scrounged through all the dies to find different sized heart and cut them in pink shades. Then mounted them all onto a lovely designer paper piece and finished off with the sentiment from IBS - Aster stamp set.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Have a Wonderful Birthday tag

My last project for today is a quick tag for the Tag Your It #14 challenge. Using Debbys tag below as inspiration. I cut a tag, ran it though the Cuttlebug with the embossing  folder, and attached a lovely green die cut dandelion.  Next I stamped my sentiment on a panel and attached it to the bottom with a small row of  lace and finished the tag with a few gems and ribbon.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

What's On Your Workdesk, Wednesday??

..in my opinion!
WOYWW Week 297 and a cheery hello from my desk in Queensland, Australia, where today am enjoying making a few cards. If you're wanting to know why I'd post a photo of my desk just pop over to Julias blog - to read all about it and maybe you'd like to join in and visit desks across the globe and interact with amazing crafty people... loads of fun and very addictive.

Here's my desk around mid-day with a shaker card on my work pad - for a challenge and our DD 30th birthday next month - finished card here. On the left is my laptop and my connection to the world - grown reliant on this bit of electronics; keeps me in touch with family and friends by email and enables me to type letters and send photos, and browse the net, research my family trees and just plain enjoy blogging, posting and visiting. Behind it a tube of hand cream, have a terrible dose of peeling fingers and next to that a story book on CD, borrowed from the local library so I can listen to stories while I work. Two cards at the back received this week from my dear stamping buddies and a completed card on my stand waiting for a sentiment. In front of that another card ready to assembly and another using the same bird stamp with the peach coloured card and ribbon and lace. The little pile of stamps at back right I'm using with my Mothers' Day cards for the Aussie troops - I have made 21 and have picked out of my stash another 12 to convert from birthday cards. And behind me on the chair is Henry - he likes to be close and up off the floor.  Thanks for dropping by today and to all who visiting last week, I'm off to make a cuppa and browse and few desk now
Cheers Robyn

A Bagful of Love and Best Wishes

This afternoon I have finally completed my card for
I have made this for our daughters 30th birthday next month and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
From my stash of stamped images I have this 'lolly bag' and immediately thought it would make a great shaker card. I cut the center from the image and used the cellophane packaging from a stamp set to gather up and create the bag so it's not flat. Then I cut a slit above the bow and inserted some more cellophane to create the edge of the bag. I stamped Best Wishes on the pale green backing panel (to run with the idea of a bagful of love and best wishes) and sandwiched the top panels together with some confetti hearts inside. Then I mounted that onto a darker green base and onto a white card. Finished off the card with a computer generated sentiment and tag attached to a ribbon bow.

Birthday Wishes

I'm just so happy how this card came together - I used the February sketch #27 at Stamplorations for my layout.  As I selected the designer paper strip to use, the idea to stamp a rose and use the colours of the flower on the panel came to me and that lead to the antique colours - darker shades I would not usually tackle. I used a torn page - something else I find hard to do - destroy a book. I coloured the IBS Rose with Distress Inks, mounted it on dark brown which I cut with deckle scissors and stamped the sentiment in brown. I used a narrow band of butterflies to finish the card. Happy Mothers' Day

Another Mothers' Day card this afternoon for my stash to the Aussie troops.
I enjoyed using this technique (easy triple time stamping) last week so had another go today, Stamped the green swirls and then the roses in two shades of pink over the two panels and mounted them both of pink panels. Stamped and fussy cut one rose and stamped the sentiment on a fancy die cut label and attached with 3D foam tape. Using my rose stamp and pink colours I'm posting to the Inkspirational challenge #75. Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Happy Mothers' Day

Today I've made another Mothers' Day card for the Aussie troops. I decided to have a go at watercolouring with my markers as Joanna demonstrated in her tutorial over at Inspired by Stamping.
I stamped the floral from the IBS Spring Bouquet set with Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder, then followed along with the tute even flicking a few ink drops on the completed panel, I finished the card with a stamped sentiment. Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

COLORFUL
Recently we say a collection of old and reconditioned vehicles.
And this one caught my eye immediately
I don't even know what type of truck this is but it was beautifully restored and proudly displayed.
And of course this red one is a stand out too, bright cheerful red and an Aussie made Holden
And here's a couple more that caught my eye
All lovely and shiny and cared for by enthusiast owners.
Thanks for checking out my Colourful photos
Now pop back to the Our Beautiful World blog and check out the other team members photos.

Follow your heart

Hi there today, I'm enjoying a quiet skyping session with my stamping friend Vikki and we're making Tim's Tags 12 tags for 2015 - February.
I've followed his guidelines as best I can, having to be a bit innovative with my arrow and frame but I'm quite happy with the tag and my take on it.
Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

What's On Your Workdesk, Wednesday?

WOYWW #296 and the first for February.
..in my opinion! Here's my desk first thing this morning - yesterday I started at making Mothers' Day cards for the Aussie troops - my friend Karen put me on to this FB site and as I have heaps of time I'm going to join in and make a few.  Lucky for me I found two sheets of 12x12 with mothers day sentiments so I've cut them up into lots of usable pieces and have nearly completed 12....so you can see the makings of these cards on my desk today.  On the left next to the laptop I've had a go at making little envelopes out of hearts and will die cut hearts to put in there just got to work out how to display them on a card. And I have a house mouse card on the go - rightside/back.

If you'd like to know more about this craze of displaying our messy creative work  spaces, please pop over to Julias blog....she host this wonderful, sharing, inspiring event....
Thanks for visiting, have a great week Robyn
