Breathe out ..... Relax

Feeling a bit weird at the moment... been to the dentist this morning as I broke a tooth and have had that removed and my new denture put in ... now the anesthetic is wearing off too.  But being at my desk making this card has kept my mind busy and off the tooth.
I have used a very old stamp and with some masking and rearranging the stamp have created a foreground for my holiday themed card.  I used my Brushos to colour the images and to created the landscape, then stamped on my silhouette trees and the sentiments.  To join in with the Power Poppy Power and Spark June challenge - Add a bug, I added a couple of bees.  I am also posting to Rubber Dance June theme challenge - summer holidays, Shopping Our Stash SOS309 - Lazy Summer Days and Addicted to Stamps and More #248 - Holiday.  Thanks for taking a peek

Tea - a hug in a cup

It's time again for the Coffee Lovers Summer Bloghop.... all things coffee, tea or chocolate - I enjoy them all.  So to give my card a summer feel I chose this summery field of flowers as my background - totally cheated with a pic from a magazine.  Then I stamped and coloured my teacup with Brushos and fussy cut it. To finish I added a sentiment tag from the same Kaisercraft stamp set inked in Kaleidacolours variegated ink.  Big thanks to the team and all the fabulous sponsors for hosting this bloghop....
I am also joining in with the Stamplorations 4th Birthday and linking to their Wishlist Linky Party - pop over and join in the celebrations - well done Shery and the team, lots of yummy new stuff. Cheers and thanks for taking a peek

A Walk in the park with Pa

I am so stepping out of my comfort zone with this page... I see all the lovely scrap pages by others and veer away but I'm giving it a go today and playing along with ARTastic challenge - I am certainly challenging myself.  So I chose an A4 sheet of grey green to display this photo of hubby and our two gorgeous grand daughters - it's so nice to be part of their lives.... I love this photo. I used some die cut gum leaves and pink blossoms to frame photo and stamped a bird and coloured him with pencils and fussy cut him out...sort of like a wattle bird, drew on a branches for him to sit upon. And then to finish I combined some hand stamped letters and hand writing for my sentiment.  The June inspiration for ARTastic is from Ethel Spowers - The Kite .... to include children on you artwork.  Thanks for taking a peek

Birthday Wishes for You

Well for some time I've been collecting all my narrow offcuts in a folder and today they came in handy for my 'Rainbow Wishes' card for Poppy Stamps challenge PSC#33.  I used a double sided sticky sheet to stick down all my strips and then used my PS die for my 'birthday' sentiment. Before I attached my colourful panel I stamped the rest of my sentiment to the bottom of my card using two different stamps.  Thanks for taking a peek

Just for Your

Oooow I'm quite liking how this card turned out... Yesterday I uncovered a folder full on embossed panels and after using one a card yesterday decided that one might suit the sketch at Just Add Ink #365.  Addicted to CAS #114 was also calling me with the White on White theme. Thought the embossed panel looked better mounted on a layer, then added my decorative die cut label - used silver ink and pearl white EP on my sentiment.   A single die cut ring and a flower I put together with a die cut center and grouping of little white pearls.   Thanks for taking a peek

Happy Birthday

This week at Muse challenge #221 we are casing Jenni's card below.... it is also her farewell post and I too wish to thank her for all the inspiration and encouragement.  I chose to follow her theme of mixed text on a colourful layer centered on a simple white background.  I masked off a section of a large background text stamp and used Kaleidacolour ink pad to get the variation in colours.  Then for the background to add interest I used an embossing folder to repeat the mixed text.  A simple to make card and I'm pleased with the result.  Thanks for taking a peek

Summer.....

Each month I'm always wanting to play along with the CAS Watercolour Card challenge and I always seem to leave it till the last minute - determined not to miss out today with only a few hours till close. So I've made a 'summer' card - I chose to use colours in yellow and blues to represent the sand and the beach - a favourite place to spend our summer vacations as a youngster.... now it's not a problem we live in the tropics on the coast.  I swiped my Distress Ink pads on my plastic mat and spritzed with water then smooched my panel in the ink... of course one never knows how the water and paint will react with the card but I was really happy with the blotchy effect.  I flicked a few drops of glitzy orange ink across the card too ... then stamped on my palm tree silhouette.  I decided to die cut a bicycle and make up a beach sign post to finish the card.  I am also posting to Rubber Dance challenge - Theme is Summer Holidays, Happy Little Stampers CAS June challenge - Smoosh, Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies June challenge,  and Simon Says Monday challenge - Vacation and Victorine Originals challenge #9- photo inspiration. Thanks for taking a peek

...Filled With Love

Well we're half way to Christmas 2017 with 26 weeks to go....so I'm happy to be adding another card to my stash.  Today I'm playing along with Merry Monday #253 - Bears and ABC Christmas challenge L & M... - 'L' for LOVE.  I've stamped and coloured with Brushos my cute image of hugging bears and decided to make a tag with a stitched tag die. To keep the design simple and nearly CAS I chose a light grey snowflake designer paper and simply stamped part of the sentiment on it and the last to the tag.   I am also posting to the June Rudolph Days challenge - Anything Goes.  Thanks for taking a peek

The Road to a Friend's House is never Long

I did manager to find a house stamp in my stash to go along with this fabulous sentiment .. it's so true.  I stamped, embossed and coloured my little shack with Distress Inks then masked off a path and sponged that too - I tried to give it a rough finish with a stencil, sort of worked and then decided to add some mini flowers and butterflies.  I am playing along at CASolgy #254 - this weeks theme is House.  Thanks for taking a peek

Merry Christmas to One and All

Happy Saturday to you, it's a lovely fresh, overcast day here so I'm at my desk already with a card now for Jingle Belles challenge - Stars and/or Stripes.  The wood-grain of the lovely DP background is kind of stripy but my inspiration is the stars... so I've add one large sparkly die cut gold star with a bright ribbon and bow.  Added a grey layer on a red card and finished off with a stamp 3D mounted sentiment. Thanks for taking a peek

...Joy of Living

We recently escaped for a week in the sun, walks on the beach, the seagulls, the sound of the surf... to me that is a vacation - Relaxing!!  So I thought this stamped image said it all for me. Used my Brushos to colour it and multi layered it on navy card. To finish I added a knot cord and a single shell. 'Vacation' is the theme this week at Simon Says Monday, Just Us Girls #399 - Summer Vacation and a new challenge site I found at Paper Playful - Victorine Originals challenge  #5 - Summer Vacation.... inspiration summer with deckchairs on the sand.  Thanks for taking a peek

Friends are flowers..... ATC

Happy Little Stampers have a new challenge starting this month - ATC challenge.
I enjoy making these little creative pieces so I'm joining in the fun.  This month the theme is Flowers ... so I have included some hand painted/made flowers and some stencilled ones using tinted texture paste. The background was sponged through a stencil and to finish I stamped the sentiment on background scrap, cut it up and sponged the edges.  Thanks for taking a peek

Happy 70th Birthday

A special friend is having a very special birthday next month so I've made a special card - pop-up box card.  These are fun to make but can be tricky to fill....so I used lots of die cuts...balloons, stars, the sentiment and big 70.  I am posting to Watercooler Wednesday WWC124 - Masculine, Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes and Stamplorations CUTplorations June challenge - I was inspired by the number 50 and colour scheme.  Thanks for taking a peek
