Sophie's Birthday Card

Well being a cat lover - 4 lovely moggies in our house, and seeing this 2020 Cat Lovers Hop over on Jo's blog - I couldn't believe my luck  because it's both grand daughters birthdays this week and I had made Sophie this cat for her 7th.
I drew out the shape on black card - 2 layers and attached them at the top of the head - cutting off the back ears as it wouldn't open, then adhered this fun fur to the front.  Drew up and cut out the cat face in grey card and added the features.  To finish I cut a tail from the scraps and added a furry "7" on a silver  card disc.

So I am playing along with the 2020 Cat Lovers Hop     ---  AND I am also joining in with Show Us You Pussy-Cats challenge #59.

Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year

So I've been busy finishing off mums knee rug and card this week as I need to get them in the post early as the mail is crazy slow here.  This is a corner to corner gingham crochet rug and the card is very similar to one I made recently for a friend - I loved it so much and mum loves her roses

Last month I had this lovely swirly holly stamp out and stamped it a few times in different inks/embossing on a variety of coloured card...
I stamped this one in green ink and then while it was still in place in the Misti, added Versamark ink to the swirls and lightly to the leaves and then heat embossed this in gold.... I like how the green shows through.  Stamped and gold embossed the sentiment and sponged Old Paper DI to break to stark whiteness and to finish attached to a green card and added red gems to the holly berries.

Merry Christmas

From my stash I found this embossed white panel and decided to flip it and put white Nuvo Crystal Drops on the dots joining the diamonds.  Then in my stash also was one of the coloured poinsettia flowers - nicely fussy cut but I thought I'd go for two so had to stamp, white embossing and watercolour the second - you'll notice they're slightly different because I couldn't remember the inks I'd used.  I die cut the fancy label and stamped and gold embossed the sentiment, then arranged all the elements with foam tape and a this border of bright pink card.  To finish I added a spray of gold ribbon tucked in behind the flowers and to the flower centres I added a pink sequin with gold micro beads glued in the middle.

I am playing along with Just Add Ink challenge #528 - Just Choose Two  - I've chosen sequins and ribbon   ----   ALSO   ---  Christmas Kickstart challenge #40 - Pink Christmas   ---   AND  ---  Pixie's Snippets Playground #389

Peace & Joy at Christmas

I made a slim-line card to mount my stamped and pearl gold embossed dove... decided to ink over the olive branch with green ink and pearl gold too, trimmed and matted the image with pale gold metallic paper and attached to the card with foam sheet.  To add some glamour I painted the dove and stars with shimmer Perfect Pearls mist.  Stamped and embossed the sentiment too.

Two cards featuring Silhouettes

Back today to play along with the TWOFER Card Challenge #32 - Silhouettes.  There are so many fantastic cards by the DT and at first I was miffed about which stamp to use until yesterday I opened a drawer looking for another stamp and there in the back was this large silhouette floral wood-mounted stamp

I've made a birthday card and get well card... using background pieces from my stash... so a silhouette stamp makes for quick and easy cards.

This bright background made with Brushos was perfect for the wildflowers - stamped in black ink and heat embossed with black EP... mounted to a black card and finished with a stamped sentiment on a blue card strip.

This gorgeous little background piece fitted so nicely with the black of the silhouette... I think it's Distress Inks not sure of the colours... both the floral and sentiment stamped and heat embossed with black ink and EP and attached to black card for a frame and mounted on a mustard card.

Special Hugs

I stamped the image in grey ink and kept it in position in the Misti while I watercoloured the flowers in Distress Inks... then over stamped again in grey ink.... trimmed the panel using torn edge die and stamped the 'hugs' in grey and clear embossed... I attached the sparkly die cut 'Special' and arranged the panel on blue pp and a blue card.

Birthday Wishes

I have had loads of fun recently creating these pattered paper backgrounds - for this one I've used a largish flower stamp and single leaf, stamped randomly and heat embossed with white embossong powder....then added Distress Inks with a dry baby wipe and spritzed liberally with Pearl Ex (- added some Interference Gold to water in a spray bottle)  - the effect was to blend the DI and add a gorgeous shine to the whole surface.  Trimmed the panel and attached to a white with a stamped and white embossed sentiment on metallic red paper.

Blended light DI around edges of pale aqua card and then darker ink on the outer edge... then using a circles stencil blended different sized circles - Bokeh effect, with different shades of blue.  Trimmed the card and added a glittery blue fine border onto an aqua card.  To finish I die cut an ornament in the glittery card and backed it with pale blue metallic paper and decorated with some glitter glue dots.... lastly I stamped on the sentiment in Chipped Sapphire DI.

Birthday

Having fun this month trying out different techniques with stencils.... I used photographic paper and Distress Oxide inks.  Firstly I smooched ink in different Autumn shades over the paper, and wiped it clean with baby wipes.  Then with the stencil in place sponged deeper shades over the flowers and leaves... and wiped over the surface again, bringing up the lovely bright colours.  I took to it then with a fine black marker, roughly outlining the flowers and leaves and adding some mini circles to the flower centres then white gel pen.  I used a black card base and die cut the sentiment twice - one white which I coloured up with fired brick DO and clear embossed it, and a black die cut to use as a shadow.... I used a strip of vellum to help the sentiment stand out .

Sending a Smile your Way

Using the sketch as a guide I assembled some patterned paper with bright orange metallic card - with a strip of striped washi tape attached to the top.  Die cut an oval in matching green card and gold embossed the sentiment and finished with a floral spray - I silver embossed the stamped image and watercoloured with pencils and roughly cut the image... added some clear Nuvo Crystal Drops to the flower and a gem in the center.
