Notelets

So while I was checking out the tut's at Whoo Hoo Wednesdays I came across this other technique I wanted to try.... well I used the idea to stamp my image and emboss in White and then used my Twinkling H2Os to colour in the flowers - I'm liking how they came out and am going to make a few more and package them in one of my boxes at 'notelets'.  Thanks for taking peek

Happy Birthday

Crazy 4 Challenges C4C191

I saw this at Crazy for Challenges C4C191 - to make a flip flop card - learnt a few things about making this card so the next won't be as fiddly and as yet I'm to finish the inside flap, like making the middle section of the fold wider as mine is a touch front heavy with the tag, but I'm loving how it turned out so I'll be making another as I have a few birthdays coming up.

Thinking about You

I'm early this Saturday morning, got a move on with the chores and decided to finish off this card and get it posted straight off.  I watched a tutorial at Topical Tuesdays tt072 on Annabelle Stamps blog, on using different coloured embossing powders , so searched in my drawers for my old stock and there you go I have pink, blue, white and pearl white and a few others....clear emb powder created the black looking images.  I've used the layout at Sketchbook Saturday #99 and am quite happy with this very different card that emerged. Thanks for taking  a peek

WOYWW #213

Just been checking out a fellow Aussie's blog and see she shares on
What's On Your Work-desk? Wednesday and even though it's Friday I'd like to share my space and visit others that post their special place and to realise you're not the only one the disappearing fairies visit - you know when you're just had that item in your hand and now you can't find it - anywhere!!   and   the little piles of creations you've started and are still "waiting"   and   the tools, stamps, inks.......that haven't returned just yet to their "home".  My desk isn't too bad today as I've just finished "posting" a new card.  Anyway off now to check out some other WOYWW players.
Thanks for taking peek here

Just for you

What a glorious Friday it is here in Yeppoon a town situated on the Queensland coast on the Tropic of Capricorn and part of the mainland off the Keppal Islands part of the Great Barrier Reef - it's magic.
Well this mornings card is created along the lines of the Freshly Made Sketches #92 layout only I turned the curved line into the opening of my card. I used the palette for ColourQ's  challenge #195 - creating a textured background piece with distress ink on an embossed panel and kept the rest of the card simple.  Thanks for taking a peek and happy Friday

Vintage Theme

Inspired-by-Stamping-June-Bmmmmm I had some fun this afternoon creating this card for the June Blog Hop challenge at Inspired by Stamping - Vintage theme.  A bit of distress ink brayering and sponging for the embossed background and the frame and some lace and handmade flowers to match. Thanks for taking a peek

Daisy card

Happy Wednesday... and here's a bright cheery daisy card from me today for the Annabelle Stamps colour challenge ac165.  This is a pretty old Penny Black stamp but I do like it lots and haven't seen it for a bit as it's wood mounted and got packed away while we were in the caravan.  Also this week I've been having fun finishing off some baby things I've been knitting as our daughter and hubby are to have our first grandchild in Oct.....super happy :-)

Friends

Well I was busy yesterday afternoon but didn't get to finish my card as hubby was ready to be picked up from golf...so I'm back this morning before we have to do a bit of gardening to post two cards.  These card bits have been sitting on my desk waiting for a layout that suited so  CAS(E) this sketch  CTS#33, is the one - black is not not in my comfort zone so I persisted and kept looking at the DT paper and flowers hoping they would work...I'm happy - the colours are better than the pic.  Thanks for taking a peek

JAI 170 - Just Add Leaves Theme Challenge

CFC106
Yesterday my friend Vikki found us a new technique to try - Delft Tile technique check it out here. It's really cool and easy enough to do and another great use for our Scorepal.
I stamped up the tile panel and then used it in my layout for the Cardabilities sketch #77, added some die cut leaves for Just Add Ink challenge JAI 170 and positioned my floral medallion just over the edge for CAS-ual Fridays CFC106.  I'm really liking my soft blue card and had fun creating some rolled flowers and buds.  Thanks for taking a peek.

Little bird - happy birthday

I'm listening to Michael Buble singing "It's a beautiful day" and it sure is here in Yeppoon...sun's shining in a bright blue sky  and everyone's happy.
My card this morning is for the Freshly Made Sketches layout  FMS 91 this week - a nice simple one. The piece of printed paper jumped into my hand and became the basis to make the card - I  like the colours - seems I've made a few this week  with green :-)  Anyway thanks for taking a peek and hope your're have a wonderful weekend at your place.

Friends

PPA161w-frameTonight I'm having a skype session with friend Vikki while hubby watches the football ...mmm... where would I rather be I wonder!!     I was so inspired by Pals Paper Arts DT member Sandra Conner's card (check it out here) I even found similar colours for this weeks sketch PPA161 - my pics not true colours in this lamp light but I've enjoyed putting these different colours together.  Thanks for taking a peek

Happy happy birthday

As you can see by my sunrise photo of the kookaburra I'm becoming quite attached these funny birds... they visit us on our balcony everyday and we hand feed them...this one is a regular and was watching for me when I appeared quite early to get this gorgeous sunrise,  he was quite happy to be part of the photo too.
So as I just happen to have a kookaburra stamp my card for Retro Sketches  #68 this week features them.  Thanks for taking a peek

Happy Birthday

Oh doesn't that cupcake look too gorgeous to eat...love the folded flower and tiny pearls to finish it - so thank you Scrapbook Boutique for the June inspiration photo. I was definitely inspired to make a card.......I love these lovely fabric flowers you can buy now and so I designed my card around it and now I have my tiny flower punch unpacked I guess I'll be using them again too.
